"An interracial couple was met at home by police after a local Republican official confronted them for spreading “socialism” in her Pennsylvania neighborhood by campaigning for a Democratic candidate.
Amanda Kemp, a visiting scholar at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, said she and her husband were allowed entry to the Bent Creek community in Manheim Township after giving the name of a voter they planned to visit, reported WITF-FM.
That voter wasn’t home, and Kemp said she and her husband determined none of the gated community’s rules specifically prohibited canvassing, so they drove on to the next name on their list of voters.
Kemp, who is black, said a white woman with gardening shears called out to them."

It’s up to police to decide whether a 911 call is spurious. Responding officer might be ticked at being called out for this BS but it’s unlikely they’d file all the paperwork required to take action against a phony-phoner.
A private citizen in this situation might be able to file a charge against the phony-phoner, if such is allowed by state/local statute, but that opens them up to counterclaim/charge if their claim is found invalid-this sterling citizen and many like her would certainly seek revenge.

I remember when I was 8 months pregnant my mentally unstable brother in law punched me. When he was released from jail there was a no contact order. Well he came over anyway so I in fear called the police. When they arrived he ran out the back and jumped the fence. I told the police what happened and they said "Well he is not here now. If you call us again for nothing then we are taking you to jail because somebody is going to jail if we have to come back here!" I guess the police only work to protect and serve some of us.
That right if you are black and they feel you called unnecessary then they'll will make something up to lick you are up .I remember calling the police about some drug dealing going on in the block and they came to my home with their guns drawn like Swat. And told me don't call them again or they'll take me in. I went to a white neighborhood here in Little Rock AR with a full suit on, working for At&t, badge on, and clipboard w/ paperwork...they called the cops on me for being black and knocking on doors

For those pointing out about No Soliciting signs ... unless state law specifically states otherwise then political canvassing is 100% exempt from those no solicitation signs. Also, gated communities, including stuffy white privileged ones don't have legal authority to override a local or state law.

There is no such thing as a "public gated community". How could that even work? The only possibilities that come to mind are Army bases and prisons. At any rate , I have yet to see any gated community that doesn't have a very clear "no soliciting" sign near the front gate.

You’ll notice at no point is she QUOTED making any comments about race. The anchor is the one making assumptions regarding race as a factor. The woman reacted to a solicitor with her clipboard at her door somehow despite it being a GATED community where there’s no soliciting. I’d have call the cops too.

As a Norwegian I keep getting amazed that American cops pursue these cases. Norwegians cops would have laughed at you on the phone and said they have better things to do. There has to be something sounding like a real issue for them to come. Given that the US has 10x the murder rate of Norway and more violence, I am surprised American cops of all people have time to spend resources on all these low-priority issues, such has running after biracial couples or go to schools to straighten out kids who don't listen to their teacher or whatever minor things cops are made to do.
Maybe that is why America has all this crime, because cops don't get to spend their time solving real crime. I dunno. It just seems so bizarre.

Facts
Having rich people living in gated community IS a BIG issue. It make them ignore and dehumanizes the poor.
Back when the rich were sharing neighborhood, the rich were more emphatic toward the poor. Maybe their childhood friend was poor, they get the other's situation.
That's not the issue. First, rich people never live with the poor (unless it's on purpose). Because poor people by definition cannot afford housing/apartments that rich people can.
Secondly, gated communities are not to separate rich people from poor. It's for security. If poor people could afford it they will also live in gated communities.
Moreover there are poor people who stay inside those communities at least part of their day or week or even months. They include drivers, cooks, maids, shopkeepers (if they have their own market) etc depending on how rich and big the community is.

I find the bigger problem to be that the cops responded at ALL!. So if a black man rang the police to complain about a white republican canvasser, they would send a car would they?...Right.
Depending on how vague the brave Republican was, the police could have been left with any number of scenarios to which to react. If she supplied the police with partial or somewhat misleading information, the police are better off risking a short chat with the couple in this case versus not responding to an actual criminal case.

Lol I can see that going well. Schools will institute a class to teach what is the difference between emergency and non emergency. Then the kids who dislike school, usually the ones from a poor background, will not be interested in this and/or miss class. Then they will call the cops and get possibly fined then hate that poor people will have for cops will increase. Distrust will insure and the poor community will be thrown deeper into chaos.
People know what an emergency is and is not . They call 911 because they wish things will go very wrong for the people who get called on and they will be in the clear. Free to practice their evil ways.

My wife received an offer to go work in the States. She’s a medical doctor and we live in Kenya. After watching American news she realized there was no way she would ever want to work in that hell hole of a country. I’ve lived in several multicultural cities. I have never called the police. I have stopped fights between strangers, been there when people were arrested but thankfully never needed their assistance. In my country you can be fined for nuisance calls to emergency services and even face jail time for repeat offenders. Every time an officer responds to one of these complaints you are taking manpower from the system when someone could be facing a life and death situation. Shameful.

This is not a shock or surprise to me. Hey guys it's not just the US here in the UK my daughter almost died a few weeks ago due to illness. She's married to a Ugandan guy. The illness caused them to lose a baby. They had been living happily in Uganda for a long time. No plans to come to the UK at all. We had to fly my daughter home for medical treatment now remember she's just had a miscarriage. The UK "Government" won't let him in. No problem bringing Eastern Europeans every day though.
