    70mph cruising on a 350cc..that looks like a real bike should..light, easy to handle.. who needs a over the top superbike... ? just cruise all day and take in the view....on a 350 !!!

      Perfectly stated. There are actually people out there that want a good quality bike at a good price. Need to get back to basics with classic styling. I disagree with the lady, the cables are not sloppy. I feel like everything is well placed and tidy in my opinion. RE did a great job!

      I have a Suzki Wee-Strom 650, and this 350 has caught my eye.
      The wind shield looks great on her.
      However, I'm not sure if the bike can do 75mph comfortably. That is most likely the top speed. I just watched a video.

      Absolutely. 350cc used to be quite a big motor!! We all started out on Honda SL100 trail bikes. When we bought 250s we thought we were rad!! This is a neat bike that's growing on me. I saw the new Honda 350 and just love it, but just for India? I'm a kiwi and we have this RE in showrooms already. Looks great in the flesh. I mean metal! :) Take care bfarm44 and ride on

      Mh, but it´s rather underpowered... Don´t know about the US, but in Germany this is basically a 125cc (max 15hp in the lowest motorcycle license category), just
      that you need a higher license for it due to 2.5hp and I´d guess it has has a higher consumption... Topspeed and accelaration are probably not much different... Usually 350´s have more like 25hp, which would be okay for some relaxed cruising... Also, contrary to 125cc, the Meteor is obliged to pay taxes for... and higher frequence for technical checks (i know, no such thing in the US :) ) ... Over all, pretty underwhelming considering the engine is 3X as big :) Me personally, I´d either stick to a good 125 for a few hundret less, or go for a decent 500 for just a few hundret more...

    • @kurroth
      @kurroth 3 года назад +18

      @@RSProduxx There are many motorcycles which have nearly half the displacement but produce more power like the Duke 200. On paper these motorcycles are faster but you do not want to ride on those speeds, crouched to your limits with the engine screaming. The Meteor is a very relaxed motorcycle on which you can comfortably ride at 100kph while sitting upright on well padded seats. This makes it a very comfortable tourer and only after riding many bikes one can appreciate it.

    I actually have the same bike and its really comfortable to ride long distance but its never easy for the back seat rider. The power from throttle is really surprising and awesome. The disappointing part of this bike is, that we can feel the heat radiated from the engine and the exhaust pipe next to our leg. With the jeans on, its even more hotter. Apart from that, Its a great everyday ride.

    I've been totally digging the R-E 650 twins, but I honestly have to wonder if I wouldn't be totally happy with just the Meteor. It looks cool, it's comfortable, well-made, and it can handle the highway for longer rides. I'm honestly not looking for a whole lot more than that out of my next bike. Bonus points for ABS and navigation, especially at that price point!
    My prediction: Royal Enfield is going to become a dominant player in the US, and quickly. They're the only company out there that's making truly affordable bikes that are targeted at newer riders like me. The cheapest H-D you can get is pushing $9,000 these days, and even the entry level Japanese stuff is $5K or more.

      The idea is to get the speeds where we most often cruise near the top of the dial, where they're easier to watch at a glance. The speeds showing toward the bottom right are obviously superfluous (for most vehicles), being there simply to make the dial appear symmetrical.

    The fuel gauge is not accurate at all. As far as I understand, the light is supposed to come on at 6L to go, but it keeps increasing and decreasing as the bike leans over or is parked at a steep hill. I have been getting 500kms out of 13-14L of petrol, which means it still has 1L left in the tank. I would suggest to not look at the fuel gauge cause it will have you fill up the tank every 9L of petrol used. I just go by filling it up after 500kms. Overall a great bike, I have also installed Luggage Racks and it is amazing while going long distance. Good review

    According to FortNine's analysis of 1st change motoroil RE engines are also better built than any other including Honda and BMW.

    • @MrKdr500
      @MrKdr500 3 года назад

      NOT better built! It means assembly was cleaner & that is all. If you seriously think a enfield is better engineered than a BMW or Honda then you're kidding yourself....also that was the 650 twin engine.

    a question: is it a real cruiser? Because I don't really love cruiser for the low turning agility, but this is very nice and it seems to be quite nimble as other non-cruiser classic 300-400. If it is so, I'd like to buy one...

    Much of what this reviewer says (about suspension, engine vibration, brake feel, and cruising speed) has been contradicted in other reviews. But, as a returning rider living in an area where the maximum speed limit is 60 mph (but more often, 30 - 50), I'm interested in this R.E.

    I wonder if there is a difference between the bikes imported into USA and the UK/ Europe ?; UK reviews indicate that 70 mph is flat out and not maintainable where this (Excellent) review indicates 70-75 'easily'. That's all the speed I want. I'm waiting for mine to be delivered so we shall see..... !

    I was hoping this would be less than $4k. I wonder how much cheaper it could be without the tripper. Still, it's a pretty good competitor to the rebel 300. Less power and heavier, but the rebel 300 really is for first timers. Msf courses and those who really want to take learning easy probably won't be as concerned with those draw backs.

    • @detachedloop1004
