Also, contrary to 125cc, the Meteor is obliged to pay taxes for... and higher frequence for technical checks (i know, no such thing in the US :) ) ... Over all, pretty underwhelming considering the engine is 3X as big :) Me personally, I´d either stick to a good 125 for a few hundret less, or go for a decent 500 for just a few hundret more...

I've been totally digging the R-E 650 twins, but I honestly have to wonder if I wouldn't be totally happy with just the Meteor. It looks cool, it's comfortable, well-made, and it can handle the highway for longer rides. I'm honestly not looking for a whole lot more than that out of my next bike. Bonus points for ABS and navigation, especially at that price point! My prediction: Royal Enfield is going to become a dominant player in the US, and quickly. They're the only company out there that's making truly affordable bikes that are targeted at newer riders like me. The cheapest H-D you can get is pushing $9,000 these days, and even the entry level Japanese stuff is $5K or more.
I am a life-long rider, both street and moto, and feel the same way about my needs for my next bike and this Meteor. I sat on one at my dealer toady and it really feels like a substantial real motorcycle. The speeds this can run are really all I plan on doing anyway. I have owned 120 horsepower bikes long ago and do not need one now.
I like how motorcycles and cars, despite size or capabilities, have max speed on the speedo that are WAY above what is possible... I would love to have a realistic speedo where when you're close to max it shows. Much more exciting and rewarding that way IMO.
The idea is to get the speeds where we most often cruise near the top of the dial, where they're easier to watch at a glance. The speeds showing toward the bottom right are obviously superfluous (for most vehicles), being there simply to make the dial appear symmetrical.

a question: is it a real cruiser? Because I don't really love cruiser for the low turning agility, but this is very nice and it seems to be quite nimble as other non-cruiser classic 300-400. If it is so, I'd like to buy one...
Much of what this reviewer says (about suspension, engine vibration, brake feel, and cruising speed) has been contradicted in other reviews. But, as a returning rider living in an area where the maximum speed limit is 60 mph (but more often, 30 - 50), I'm interested in this R.E.

I was hoping this would be less than $4k. I wonder how much cheaper it could be without the tripper. Still, it's a pretty good competitor to the rebel 300. Less power and heavier, but the rebel 300 really is for first timers. Msf courses and those who really want to take learning easy probably won't be as concerned with those draw backs.
That can't be possible. The bullets and classics were the cheapest ancient machines. All the new age bikes from RE are only going to be more costlier than them

¡Se ve genial esa Meteor 350cc!
I wonder if there is a difference between the bikes imported into USA and the UK/ Europe ?; UK reviews indicate that 70 mph is flat out and not maintainable where this (Excellent) review indicates 70-75 'easily'. That's all the speed I want. I'm waiting for mine to be delivered so we shall see..... !
All the new age bikes from RE are only going to be more costlier than them
Woah it's a beginner?? In India it's equivalent to a Harley... Harleys don't work in India... One offroad patch.. Boom ur bikes gone.. And also lots of tax on them... Royal Enfield good 👍
The torque is 27 and power is 20 hp
Nice report Lady, and yes not only beginners enjoy the concept :)
Beautiful bike
I just bought mine!
Great review 👍
