I have to admit, honestly, that seeing the factory and the happy people who work there makes me want to use Burris products.
Only a few of their scopes are made there but I'd encourage you to try them out. I've landed on Burris after doing a lot of looking and researching. Everybody's different, but before I made my most recent purchase I went to 2 stores and compared similarly priced/optioned vortexes to the Burrises. At low power they all looked clean and nice, about halfway up the power the vortexes started to blur, and at top power I literally couldn't get the vortex to focus naturally while the Burrises, from 300 to 900 bucks or so, could be made crisp and were significantly brighter all the way up. For broad-use optics they can't be beat for me. Of course I can't say what the Philippine employees are treated like but those are my findings.
Very underrated Scope
Company! Their Xtr lineup is made in the USA with Japanese glass.
Yes, I'd buy one and have never owned a gun in my life - unless you count a .22 air rifle.
can you send me a video how to adjust the cross hair of these model Burris 4.5x12-42
@@edmundoalmario8552 do you mean make the crosshair be in focus? Or sight the scope in?
I bought a gun used with an old Burris. 1-4 power. It was foggy. I called them and asked if they could fix it. I offered to pay since I bought it used. They refused to take any money for fixing it. That scope became the one scope my dad and I fight over. We both love it, it’s so clear……and holds its adjustment.
I had a similar experience with a 1958 weaver scope. After they restored it, it became a fantastic high quality scope.
@@blueduck9409 On my dads Winchester Model 88 .243, its had an old Weaver scope on it longer than Ive been alive..and Im 58 years old. So, they can & will refurbish this scope?
Tons of respect for a man who knows every part and every job that his employees do. Looks like he knows all of those machines and processes just as well as the workers who do them all day every day.
You say that but he called a lathe a mill...
@@jacobbotden5641 I think he said "milling operation," which could be accurate if the guy was using a turret inside the lathe for an actual milling op.
I have to say thank you for this video. After 60 years of shooting I have never seen a video tour of an optics manufacturer that was this extensive. The informality was intriguing and refreshing. Kudos to Burris. Everyone should be able to understand why high quality optics are so expensive after watching how they are made. You might not be able to afford them, but you will understand why.
I never wanted a Burris scope until now. This is an awesome place, and I love what they are making.
I would look more at their sister company. They also have scopes made in this same building
@@easyhardenduro9847 ... and, of course, everyone knows who THAT is!
$3k scopes aren't necessary for successful shooting .@@easyhardenduro9847
@@easyhardenduro9847 which is? doesn't that mean "parts not to spec" tho?
@@Gnolomweb Steiner is the sister company. As far as I know the burris xtr III and xtr pro are the only American ones made in Colorado with American glass. Steiner is made in Colorado with German glass.
Years ago I needed a part for a Burris scope. They sent it to me no charge. A great company.

Thanks to everyone at Burris for allowing us a visit to their facility
Thanks to Burris for the tour and working with Jim. It has paid off, I bought 2 Signature scopes w/C3 reticles. Love the C3 simple not to busy and illuminated, perfect for the bench
Those signatures are very nice for the money. I waited a year to buy one and was basically on my way to the store when I decided on a closeout xtr2 at the same price.
Used many Burris scopes throughout the years - never a days issue and always loved them for some reason while everyone else was on about "bigger and better". It is weird, it is almost as if the values of a company such as Burris bleeds down to their products. This video shows the "why" behind the scenes. Great company and I will continue to support Burris and well done on this vid Backfire!
Wow. It is pretty clear why these are such great optics. I recommend Burris to anyone looking for a scope. it is nice to see who is making them. Videos like this really helps us feel connected to our equipment. Seeing the people who work in these factories is appreciated.
Thanks to Burris for showing you a lot of interesting stuff, and the pride they take at every step, almost like watchmakers.
Super cool. Thanks Burris and Backfire for giving us an inside look (pun intended)
“No Questions Ask Warranty” is the best
No question ask warranty but “heres the story behind all of these scopes”. Lol.
Everything in this video was beyond impressive, but what took it a step further for me was the 'no questions asked' returned scopes. I wouldn't have had the cheek to ask for a new scope after driving over it with a car, so huge respect to this company. I especially loved the guy who won a competition after his scope was hit by a bullet. That is just crazy!
These are fantastic folks to do business with, and they're a lot of fun to shoot and hang out with. Great video with great people, at a great facility in the a smelly city. IYKYK!
Thanks for the video, and the tour! I've always wondered what that room with the windows upstairs looked like!
I had an issue with my Burris XTR II, but their customer service was top notch! After they took a look at my scope they actually told me what was wrong which made me feel better (since it was a brand new scope). Shipped it back and everything has been great since. Overall super happy with the scope and I have shot out to 880 yards so far with it. I am actually going to use it to stretch the rifle out a little further tomorrow.
As an old and very retired machinist I love this place.
Only their top tier scopes are made here but they stand behind em all. I’ve never had to use their warranty. Great tour video!
That facility is immaculate, and I'm a satisfied owner of a few Burris products. I'm also the guy that maintained all of the clean room operations at Trijicon in Wixom.
This was a great tour of Burris! I just bought a Signature HD 3-15x44 and it is a way more crisp scope than I would have guessed especially considering the price. After seeing this it's obvious that they have personnel and machinery committed to building quality stuff.
Wow this really gave me a better thought on the purchase of a BURRIS Scope. And I love the part that it’s made in the USA.
I absolutely love the BURRIS scope mounts I have them on a few of my rifles and have never had a problem with them.
I'm impressed I worked in an assembly plant for 21 years and we did some very fine tuning on some of our products. Good job very informative.
I have three Burris scopes. All three of them are better than my vortex and better than my Leupold scopes and have been dead nuts, reliable. I’ve had to send some vortex scopes back for repair. Burris I’ve never had a problem. And they both have the same warranty, great American company
Wow! When he shows the lens adjustments starting about 7:20 is so cool! 😎
Great to see a Burris tour and how they produce their scopes. I've been a big Burris fan for over 45 years and never regretted it. Over that time, I've never had to send one back for warranty. As far as I recall, I think they were the first one's to come out with pistol scopes, or at least variable pistol scopes. Even their budget lines are great scopes.
As an Australian, we love made in the USA stuff here. It has always been a country that makes quality things.
I own a Burris scope, and I love it. This video makes me appreciate it even more!
Lewis the CNC operator sounds like a shoe-in for Farmer Fran from Waterboy!
I was thinking the same thing haha.
Excellent tour and description of the process these scopes go through. I am looking forward to seeing your review on them.
Great tour. Thanks Jim. I've only ever used Burris and never had any issues with them. Great product.
Thank you...this was very interesting and informative. You have a nice way of interacting with the employees making them more responsive. Obviously they show a lot of pride in their work. Burris makes an excellent product.
good to see americans supporting their countries companies. i really wish australia still had a large manufacturing presence, its almost gone now.
Thank you! Haven't really given Burris much thought; didn't know they still made scopes in the U.S. Appreciate you reintroducing Burris to us and walking us through their factory in a "how it's made" session. Will be doing some research today to see what scope I'd like to get from them.
Very interesting. Lots of high end machining and assembly. Thanks for posting.
Thank you and many thanks to Burris for taking us behind the scenes. This is great to see an American Company producing such a great product. I've owned a few Burris scopes in my years of hunting and still do. I will certainly be turning to Burris for my next optics needs. Great people, great scopes and great customer service.
Very cool! Kudos to Burris for the open discussion and hands on examples.
Love Burris. My dad is still rocking a Burris scope he bought in the 70s. It’s fallen off of horses, smashed into rocks, been buried in snow, etc more times than he can ever remember. Still a great scope.
Got a fullfield E13x9x50, love it. Just found 1 on sale got it ordered. Thanks to your scope comparesion video.
I've owned an XTRII for many years. Recently gave the rifle and optic to a friend right before I retired to the Philippines. I'll be putting a Burris on my new hunting rifle I'll be using every year when I go back to the US. Seeing this sold me.
I've had 2 xtrii scopes. I gave one away for a Christmas present and still have the other one. I love it. Shot in a 3 gun long range comp with it and took second place. Rock solid. Burris rocks
I just bought one in 5-25 on closeout. I love my Veracity and will continue to hunt with it but the xtrII is a beast physically and optically. I can't believe what I got. you've bprobably moved on but they're under 600 at eurooptic and opticsplanet at the moment.
Great video! Never had a scope factory tour before.
thanks for taking us along!
@backfire Jim you're a blessed Man. That veracity with it's smart technology is bada$$!!!
This is great!
Always wondered how they were made.
Burris is AWESOME for letting you film there!!
Thanks!!!
Very interesting and informative video. Thank you and Burris for producing it. Great job!
Absolutely fascinating! I loved this tour ! Seth is the man! 🙂
Great to see! I'd have to paw through 2 safes to know how many Burris scopes I have, but I'm a fan. The ones made in the Philippines are a good value and perfectly practical for brush guns, ARs, .22 plinkers - don't recall any issues with any of them. On the higher end, I have one of their older models called a Black Diamond on my varmint rig with great optics that's been proven durable with over a decade of regular use. Really enjoyed seeing how they're made.
I am really going to pay much more attention to Burris scopes when shopping for my next ones, from now on! Thanks To you both for doing this!
and this folks is how you get quality scopes 😁 great behind the scenes look at what goes into the makings. 👍
Quality scopes? This is a Burris factory
While I own & have used a number of other scopes (NF, Leupold, Sightron, etc)....my Burris scopes are some of my favorites. I've never had to use their customer service, but had a feeling that it was top notch.
Thanks to you and Burris for allowing us a peek at what goes into producing a quality scope.
I really like the idea of a no questions asked warranty.
Good stuff! Keep it coming sir!
Thanks for letting us get a tour i enjoyed it.
I am a proud owner of an older XTR-2 and it has been fantastic. I have been rocking it on a 6.5 PRC system for about 5 to 7 years now, when ever it came out...
I have owned several Burris optics over the years and they have all been absolutely perfect. There quality, fit and finish, field of view, and clarity is top of the line in my experience.
Thanks Jim for the great video, very helpful with info and purchasing my next scope.
I have several burris scopes on different calibers and love em all .thanks, burris, you rock guarantee for life, no question asked
The warranty scope trophy case and the stories are great!
That's why rifles that fire from an open bolt or spring piston powered air rifles are vastly the hardest on scopes. Nothing will break a scope up inside as quickly as a high powered spring piston powered air rifle. If a scope can survive and hold zero on a magnum powered spring or gas ram air rifle it will survive any powder burner.
Thank you for taking us inside! Good ol' U.S. of A! That's a good reason to look into Burris. Enjoyed it!
Now that's cool
Nice work - I learned a lot - Thanks Jim
Glad it was helpful!
Very neat.. Thank You for sharing Jim
Very cool tour
I can't believe how much the plant has changed since I worked there. Looks very clean .
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Definitely a Burris fan now.
I love my burris scope on my remington 700, accurate and rugged. Trophy maker! This is a great video, thanks!
Very interesting video sir. Thank you!
Very cool, thanks for sharing!
Excellent video! Informative and enjoyable
Been in the market for a new scope for my 30-30 for a while now and haven't been able to decide. I will 100% pick up a Burris now. Thanks Backfire!
Look forward to seeing your reviews !
Great video, really enjoyed that.
This is awesome. I'm going to go purchase one when I finish watching this video!
Top Quality and Great Customer Service 👍👍👍👍👍Thank You
i have burris on my ARs and hunting rifles..and this video, solidified my positive choices. awesome!
I did not know there was a scope made in USA. Now I'm a customer
That was amazing to see thanks for taking us threw
Wish you would have added a list of all the models made by this factory.
Very interesting, thanks! Burris-fan from Finland here!
I bought a Burris Veracity PH based on your review. I am highly pleased with it. I WILL buy more burris scopes in the future.
amazing info, Backfire rules!
Burris is one of the few manufacturers to supply stainless finish scopes that match up with stainless firearms. Their scopes have been super at turning my stainless arms into tack drivers; including a new 6" Colt Python. For some reason the new Colt Pythons are not drilled for optics, so a gunsmith drilled the necessary mounting holes for me. Fortunately, the new Anacondas are drilled for optics.
This is awesome def buying these scopes for a few of my rifles that don't have any
The more I research on optics the more I like the Burris line up. Especially the Veracity PH line and the new Eliminator 6!!
You had some good questions, and they seemed to always have an answer.
That was very cool made me really appreciate Burris
Enjoyed this.
I’ve got 5 NF scopes just got the Burris XTR 111 a couple months ago it’s my favorite scope!
Great job Burris
Great show and thanks for the info 💯😁💯😁👍👍👍👍😁😁😁
ok that's cool. I'll have to look into some of their newer scopes too.
Well done Sir! Kudos to Burris.
Cool, so glad I purchased a Burris!
Love my Burris Fullfield ll scopes, excellent value!
WOW, I'm quite impressed.
13:59 🤔 very very interesting information !!! thank you Sir ! Great job👍👍👍
Really good vid, nice people, thanks 👍👏👏
Amazing video!!!!
Very cool Thank you
I design and manufacture the scope myself, and Burris has a lot for me to learn
