The lead that comes out of my old battery gets sold back for a profit to create new ones, so I can pay more than they make in two to three months. While we get taxed for not polluting, nothing is done to clean up the pollution in these places.

We now see a more modern factory than usual. Thus, it is now possible to produce economically for the local market. Although the technological lag compared to a European factory is still 40 years. But the product seems reliable. Lots of quality control is a good thing. But the health of the workers would be important. This would require more attention. More protective equipment and more air purification in the immediate work environment. A healthy worker makes fewer mistakes. Few errors result in a reliable product. A reliable product is easy to sell.

In Australia i used to make batteries pretty much like they still do, but some 45 years ago. I am retired but consider myself an expert on every process shown here. Though there is ventilation. Some areas of the floor should be covered in water so as to keep the lead dust controlled. Masks should be worn in many areas. The grid machines used to be a pain to work with. The pasting machine can also be temperamental. It takes a certain amount of skill set to keep things running. That was my daily challenge. Back then, the way Batteries were made was fairly primitive in comparison to European standards were battery grids are pressed out from rollers. It is interesting in this outdated method still being applied 😅 I do wonder if these guy's get their 3 monthly blood lead coint checked? Lead in yoir blood is hazardous..

So many people working with molten lead fumes and the best PPE I saw was a dust mask. Many with nothing at all. And some handling lead plates with bare hands. Okay for a one off but not when you are handling them all day long.
