Just hope they fixed the cold weather issues with the new Veracity PH. Did a cold Elk hunt and it wouldn't work. Replaced batteries several times and after an hour or so in 20 deg weather the scope would not turn on.
That Blows, can you fall back to the data on the App and dial the turrret manually ? Use electric tape and wrap a hamd warmer on it 😂. Thanks for bringing that up.
I have the second generation Veracity PH. Hopefully it’s not an issue but honestly I dial it manual a lot of times at the range any ways.

When I first got invited to a deer camp, I bought a Leupold VX3 for my 243. Not knowing that people bought lots of really high end optics, I was embarrassed that I spent that much. Now, I am saving for a $1000+ scope and range finding binos.
Dude don't even sweat it. High end optics are great but a VX3 is a great deer gun optic and will do most of what the VX5/6 will do. I have some VX freedoms and VX5/6s and I think optically they're very close, all you're missing on lower lines is parallax and elevation adjustment (My $1400 VX5 only has elevation). Your 243 is a sub 400 yard round. No way you need $1000 worth of scope for that far. Save the cash go get a vortex bino and range finder, the combo units are just too expensive imo for the weight you save with one item.
The VX3 is a fantastic scope in the $500-$700 range.
Aww man! It would have been great to see you! I was the one that stopped you in shot show 2 years ago, Had the eye patch and my brother showed you the suppressors that changed color under heat! Anyways I'm just west of Greeley in Fort Collins. Where the trees and the mountains are haha. If you're ever out again, I would like to go shoot. Was devastated when Nikon stopped making scopes but luckily found your channel. Really appreciate your equipment and especially your scope reviews. Never owned a Burris scope before your recommendation, now I own three. Their optics have came along way since I shot with my Uncles in the 80"s.
Love my Nikons! I wish they would license their glass tech to an up and coming scope maker. I have several 15+ year old Nikons and they still perform like brand new 🤙
I've got a couple low end Nikon scopes and their pretty good for the money. But I have anywhere from the cheapest to the top end Burris scopes and they are all fantastic.
Eliminator 6 vs. 100 gallon challenge?

Great scope, but I fancy the approach of Element Optics´ HYPR7 more. Optical scope, but the whole reticle is a digital overlay, fully customizable. Built in weather station (temp, hum, pressure), wireless communication with a capable rangefinder of your choice, you can save and use different gun/ammo profiles. Long battery life, of course app support. Atm there´s only a compact 7x50 available (cheaper than expected), but there´s more to come for sure. If you haven´t already, make sure to check that one out 😉
All three are AMAZING…but that third one is also unbelievable…its now a video game scope. LOVE IT.

My dad stripped out the top turret screws on a Burris optic. He gave it to me because it was junk. I contacted Burris and they sent me three new tiny screws. 😅
We've come a long way since the days of carrying a quarter in our pocket to adjust the scope turrets, and I bet the pricetag reflects every bit of it. 😂

I have an ATN 4K with ballistic calculator and integrated rangefinder and it does perfectly
How far you able to accurately see out at night?
@@streamylc If you use an IR laser it can illuminate as far as the laser's power can.
I’ve been 3d printing these for years now for my air rifles to swap back and forth from slugs to pellets. Looks a little nicer than my plastic ones for sure haha I like it

Would be good to compare to the Revic RS25b. Although the Revic doesn’t have range capabilities, it has on-board environmental capabilities.
Knowing level when shooting far is so important. I had a Springfield Government Model scope 20+ years ago that had a built in bubble level in the reticle area. Why is this not on most scopes?
I had no idea Burris was located in Greeley Colorado less than 5 miles from my house. I am definitely gonna have to pay them a random visit and see if I can get a factory tour.

My first time having Burris too I already in love with the scope

I called and confirmed with Burris. The Burris rep in the video gave wrong information. There is not a way to true the ballistic curve in the app. You have to create a new bullet profile and change the velocity. It would be nice if you could true the velocity curve in the current profile.
I’ve found using density altitude in the app along with chrono’d velocity will get it very close.
After Tuesday night, I swore off any scope requiring batteries. Veracity PH had batteries (2) die after only 30 minutes of use. 20 minutes of that was trying to match up the Heads up Display and dialed turrets to the correct MOA. After discussions with Burris and sending in all my app settings, they came back and said I could not use G7 ballistics for my Hornady 147 ELD Match factory ammo. I had to use G1. As you can imagine, not a preferred work around. Manual said if batteries die in the field, you can dial turrets as normal. I tried that and could not hit the target at 350. Scope is off the 6.5 PRC and my Vortex Razor is mounted and hitting dead on at 350. Perhaps this is just a one off experience, but I will not trust a battery on an expensive hunt in the future. And they have to last more than 30 minutes. I religiously turn the scope off each time. And this all took place over 2 months waiting for good shooting weather.
Scopes with battery features are not legal in Idaho to hunt with, but ok for shooting steel etc. 😢

@@paulcox9366 Electronics in scopes are illegal in Idaho and Utah as well. The only thing your scope can have is an illuminated reticle.

It’s sweet technology, but it needs to be banned for hunting in all states. It just promotes long distance shots at animals.
Agreed. I haven’t seen a shred of proof that more animals are taken with electronic scopes.
I wonder how the Veracity PH and Eliminator would work if you had a 20 moa base. The Eliminator looked like it was in their XTR Signature rings which can be shimmed as well.
Not sure about the new ones, but the original Veracity PH only allowed for 34 MOA of digital adjustment before you hit the zero stop. I removed the zero stop to see if continuing to turn the knob would allow the digital counter to keep going, but sadly, that was the limitation. So, adding a 20 MOA base does nothing for extra distance if you are using the digital aspect, but the scope will still physically adjust beyond 34 MOA if you remove the zero-stop, so you could use the DOPE chart in the app and still use it like a traditional scope.

Eliminator 6 is the most advanced scope I’ve seen “aside from thermal and nv, and it retails around 2500

LOL, I know exactly where you are at. I've been lying in that exact spot with on of the Team Burris shooters before we shot the Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship together. Looks like Sky and the boys threw out all the cool toys for you. That had to of been a good day.
When will scope come with a built in anemometer?
When they find someone who wants a spinning fan hanging off their scope that they then have to wave their gun around to get the direct cross wind measurement.
@@jimyeatsNah, I use little weather stations for engineering stuff. No moving parts, ultrasonic anemometer with great accuracy.
Just checked and was shocked to see that BE6 is double the msrp of the BE5 almost..wtf?
I would definitely buy one. But Washington State has Restrictions on Electronic scopes. Totally sucks!

Could you do a video on the legality of using these scopes for hunting in different states? I want one of these scopes so badly but I know atleast for Colorado, the CPW brochure says smart scopes are illegal. If it’s illegal to hunt with it doesn’t do me much good.
I believe it is NOT legal to hunt with a scope that tells you where to aim in Nevada. Everything up to the red dot telling you where to shoot is tho.
unfortunately the eliminator is not legal for CO hunting. :(

Like bass fishing with live scopes, this tech is sucking the soul from hunting/shooting.
This technology was developed for hunting two legged deer. Those are little more dangerous

I just needs a finer aiming point. That bold vertical crosshair covers up a lot of targets. Also did they happen to tell you the beam divergence on the rangefinder

I hated my Burris Eliminator 6. Cause I can't find out my ammo "Hornady precision Hunter ELD-X 7mm PRC" from CARTRIDGE list.

What is that stock/grip on the rifle you used during the Eliminator segment? It looks similar to the Tact A1, but the attachment is different and that connector bar tickles my pickle. @_@

Ok, I will admit that I was a bit skeptical when I saw the title, but now I'm curious how much those beast cost? Because I want one! especially the last one! I hate trying to set my scope for longer ranges while worrying my trophy is about to get away. I know certain my bad math has cost me more times than I would like to admit at well.

I only know of Utah and Idaho. Are there others I should know about?
From what I have read in 2 CCR 406-0 it is not legal in Colorado. It talks about smart rifles and uses their verbiage as follows “Smart Rifles means any firearm that is equipped with one or more of the following” subsection 2(c) states “a ballistics computer.” It is vague as it doesn’t explicitly say what a ballistics computer is, however I don’t think I want to test the theory that it is ok. Being that Colorado and Idaho are two states with OTC tags for OOS residents, I’d just go with something else for the ease. Such a cool piece of tech though. Thanks for all you do. I’ve been through your neck of the woods to visit a buddy. Maybe I’ll bump into you next time I’m out there.

My dad shot and won a competition with Lewis gun from ? 800 yards first fire position ! ,!! Short of long ! Required three rounds per pop up target! From the butts three man team ! Running 🏃♂️ a hundred yards per position! 28lb dry Lewis gun 🔫 and ammo drums, as a cadet he beat the army, navy and Air Force that were in nz in ? 19 42?

So it's basically an all in one Sig BDX system.
I don't like when they don't say any of the negatives. These are no doubt cool but I think it would be better to learn not to depend on electronics to shoot. But if I had unlimited funds I'd probably get one to have on a target gun. I just feel like there too much that could go wrong

I’ve been competing with a Burris for almost 4 years now. The SCR2 reticle in the RT15, RT25, XTR 3, and the XTR Pro is the best reticle on the market (in my opinion). You won’t find a more feature rich optic for hunting or competition.. Burris is truly changing the game!
