Probably why all the down votes. I’m fixin to add to it.
Yes, I have noticed.
Yes! What terrible audio mixing for such an otherwise well-made production!

Those poor Campbells. They lost their son but their unparalleled dedication saved lives.
I cannot imagine a 5 year journey to get the answers to my child's death. Their perseverance is amazing. What a special way to honor Lee with a scholarship in his name/memory.
Love between parents and children is usually unmatched. The Campbells were going to get to the truth of the matter.
What lovely, gracious parent's Lee had. And how loving and dedicated they were/are in honoring their son with beyond admirable perseverance on his behalf.
And this is why I always wear my seatbelt. Even when the light is not on. It doesn't hurt and in that one-in-a-million chance, it can save your life.
Yes, but this time the seats and all were sucked out of the plane.
I always do that, too. Even if it's just unexpected turbulence, it's a good idea.
@@joannalynn1547 it’s still a good idea to keep your seatbelts on
Me too! Mine is never off, except to use the restroom; and I do not dilly-dally there either. The chances of something going wrong, whatever the reason, are always present. Better to assume something can go wrong, than to end up like these tragic nine passengers.
i do, but only because i forget to take it off XD
The Campbell’s investigation was truly fantastic. *Massive respect to them.*
And condolences to them and the other family members, friends and colleagues who still morn their losses.

Let's give credit to the dude that had the thought to take pics so they would have evidence if they all died. Which they thought they were going to. He thought he was in his last moments and thought about leaving proof behind. My heart always breaks for the pilots. I can't imagine having all those lives in your hands, knowing it, and trying desperately to save them. The ones that don't manage to are definitely the worst. It would have to be the most helpless, horrific feeling to know that a lot of people are about to die, you're the one that's supposed to save them, and there's nothing u can do about it. I couldn't be a pilot.
That is the definition of mom and dad doing what ever it takes to get to the bottom RIP to all that perished

lee's mom having that dream where he came to her totally totally got me, my prayers go out to them, even though this was a while ago all the victims families Will forever be affected! 🙏🙏
I can totally relate to Lee's mom. Every person in my family that has passed away even close friends have come to me in my dreams to let me know they are ok. One of my best friends was in her last days of cancer, she wasn't able to speak so I hadn't talked to her in awhile,. The night she passed she came to me in my dream to tell me she was sorry she hadn't returned my calls or texts and knew that I was thinking about her and loved her. The next morning I got a call from her husband that she had passed that night, but I already knew. I always wonder if it was real or not, it gives me comfort to think they have the ability to say goodbye to loved ones 💔
Unfortunately for Boeing and United, Lee's father was an engineer. What are the odds?! Kudos to the Campbells for their tremendous efforts.
Someone needs to make a movie of this. It's just begging to be on the big screen.
I know right that's exactly what I was thinking lol
It’ll never happen though. Boeing wouldn’t want it to be told, and they’d lobby that it could cause fear and distrust to the public.
Thank God for the Campbells. RIP to those lost passengers and prayers for their loved ones.
Great job by the flight crew.
Very competent pilots, a little luck and an incredible strong family fighting not only for their son, but for the truth.
No God helped the most
I feel bad for the flight lawyer guy who boarded this flight with the express purpose of getting away from plane accidents. Fate can sometimes be cruelly ironic.
It actually didn’t make sense to me. If you’re trying to get away from plane accidents you’d stay away from planes altogether. Travis Barker was afraid to take planes again after one and he traveled different ways without planes for over 10 years so he can get to destinations, and he wasn’t involved in another plane crash since.

Bless those who lost their lives on this flight. The pilots are hero’s. I don’t know how these passengers got back on a plane to go home after this. This is really horrifying and can’t imagine witnessing someone being sucked out of a plane. God bless you all who watches this video. Don’t ever want to fly again
Unfortunately for Boeing one of the victims father was an engineer and had parents that loved their son to no end.
Those pilots are freakin heroes.
And Lee’s parents are Super Heroes.
I just realized that both United flight 811 and 232 crashed in the same year.
Yep. I was working a DC 10 trip from DEN-IAD that day which got canceled. My parents were going berserk. At least, we knew we always had great pilots at UAL.

@Rayeed Raihan Chicago i think
The Campbell's could form their own private investigation company they perseverance in getting to the bottom of the problem is fantastic.
How I wish to work with them for their son
Yes
You get they they were highly motivated and did this out of passion for answers because of their son. Had their son not have been a victim they would not have been committed to this.
I really enjoy this but please equalize your audio, this can become an incredible channel, if you just make it so we can actually hear the presenter
Right? I have to constantly change the volume!!
They don't care.
They should just remove this damn video even though it is one of the most prolific and sad events to occur in mid-air.
How the hell do they shoot this so realistic!? 😳 I've been binge watching these for like a week! I would rather watch these then some movies...
This couple should be hailed as heroes, though this was not their intent. Wonderfully compelling story of a flaw and its tragic result. And the lessons that should be learned. Compassion to all the survivors and those who suffered loss of their loved ones.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. And this crew was damn tough. Wow. Hats off to them.
The Campbell's are truly an upstanding example of moral s and class, and I wish more families would be this way! They weren't even interested in a settlement after all, even when they spent their own money on their pursuit for justice! Huh!! How many others out there can show that??...
They should have hurt them more, though. The Campbells should have been reimbursed for their trouble. They should have sued their pants off. They could have donated it or set up scholarships themselves. I would not trust Boeing with this. Get the money and continue to do it yourself.
I would be offended if I was offered a money to substitue my son.

Remember no one rests in peace and goes to heaven unless they have a personal relationship with Jesus
I sure hope all of these air worthiness directives are fixed by the end of this pandemic! They can't use the excuse there wasn't enough time!
Because of the pandemic these airlines lost billions I suspect their going to cut corners with maintenance to save money. I'm not getting on plane anytime soon.
Think. They ground all the planes. 100% safety. As long as it takes. Maintenance so every plane is like new every flight. Now are you going to pay $3000+ a ticket, or are you going to go with the cheaper airline and let the super safe airline go out of business? It's partly the passenger's fault airlines and the FDA act this way, because nobody is going to pay $3000+ a ticket. Most people can't afford that price. People like you always comment about safety, but nobody bothers to say how it will be paid for? Ticket prices? Tax Payer subsidies? Billionaire philanthropists buying these airlines?
For a long time during Covid the FAA was not even travelling to investigate crashes, so if anything, it's gotten worse.
@@bluetoast8584 The FAA doesn't really investigate crashes. They take input from investigators and then choose what to do about it.
@@Alb410 NTSB I meant.
I really like the Final Destination series and I always found the part where a row of seats are ripped out of the plane in the 1st movie to be silly... I had NO idea this was actually possible. incredible parents.
Secure your airports!! Salutes to the Campbells! Lax maintenance and aviation cover ups combined with lax airport safety led my entire family from flying at all.Amtrax and caravans are our thing now.At least we control the trip now.Raise those fences out there on your service roads!!
Just like some auto makers (specifically ones with rear gas tanks), they determined it was cheaper to pay death benefits than recall the product. Disgusting.
That's why the Pinto was discontinued. Truth is the cars were less dangerous than previously thought. The truth is the fault of issues with rear tanks were with inattentive drivers, period, not with the cars.
Same for the DC-10 cargo doors (in 1972 and 1974) After it was fixed there was never a cargo door problem again.
@@johnwymer1215 I had a Pinto in 1980-82. They were ok until you had to climb a hill and had two or three passengers in the car.
Look up "kapton" wiring. Boeing stopped using it after 1991, but Airbus kept using it in their fly by wire aircraft until the mid 00s I believe.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Campbell.👍👍♥️
So sorry for your loss. Grateful that you perused until change happened. Much love to you both
I wish the pilots would shut the engines down so I can hear the narration.
Crazy, huh!

Imagine the thoughts one would have during a 4 minute fall to their death, you know youre completely screwed. Must feel like 20 minutes
The ghost of Lee's death will never leave me. I first saw this episode about 7 years ago. Beyond tragic and so unfair.

Me: "Helllllll to the nah"

Wow! This is a very good channel with great information. I never knew about this flight and it's scary seeing it casted on a 60 inch screen. Keep seatbelts fastened all the time!
Great crew and such loving parents ❤️
17:58 those photos are extraordinary
Very poor sound mix. Many times you cannot hear the narrator over the background noises and sounds.
Amazing crew
The tenacity and dedication of the Campbells was incredible. Imagine if they didn't pursue the truth!
As a side note, the 1996 crash of TWA Flight 800 wasn't caused by a fuel tank explosion -- yes, the fuel tank exploded but it did so because a pair of SM2 missiles locked onto the aircraft by mistake -- sent by the U.S. Navy during a training exercise on the South Shore of Long Island. One exploded outside the aircraft while the other ran out of fuel. One of our nation's great coverups.
Thank you sir, you made our flights safer.
Bless them all but the Campbell's are amazing
You never appreciate the importance of audio mixing until you experience a bad example. I can hardly hear the narration over the background sound effects! I tried turning on the captions just to make out what was being said.
What a shame for such an otherwise good program.
Unfortunately, they are all like this.
Godamm good flying and landing
LOL that flight engineer is played by Bill Dow, a pretty recognizable character actor on everything from Xfiles to Stargate. He was too good for this re-enactment hah.
Love the old shots of vancouver and the lower mainland lol
The Campbell's were" surprised when the NTSB came up with different findings". Mabey it had something to do with them stealing those papers. Isn't that illegal? Hindering the investigation or something?
such a unbelievable story but true

🤣🤣🤣 it's an NTSB/FAX cover up for sure!
Wait a minute. They want to wait on changes until regular maintenance? From my manufacturing background, I don't see what the problem would be with fixing the quality alert, and then bump up a PM or 2 while that is going on?

Agreed. Thanks so much for bringing us this program. *Much appreciated.*
Question, what happens to the flight number when there is a accident on the plane or if the plane disappears?
Flight numbers are almost always retired. One exception. American Airlines 1. Idlewild to LAX crashed in the 60's. Was part of a Mad Men episode.
Good question.
On The Move is another real good channel.
Are you scared yet?
Me: 14:00
Great video tho
It’s 811 not 881
Cabin crew is really very very very cool. That's why they survived.
Your back ground noise is WAY too loud...drowns out the narration so we couldn't hear the narrative!
Why do people keep getting sucked out over Hawaii? I think volcano demons is a much more rational explanation. Passengers never get sucked out over Iowa. Anywhere else really you either crash the whole plane or it lands, people survive, people die, but only by Hawaii do you get individuals sucked out and never recovered while everyone else lands safe.
2:42 Was this shot unfinished or something?

No act of love is normally stronger that of parents and their child. I'm so glad the Campbells had the resources to get to the truth. This is one of several in this series of a heroic crew and a crippled 747 that they were able to bring in. In spite of it's flaws the 747s were tough birds.
The wiring killed too many on the -100's. -300's through -8 have excellent safety records though.
I don't like flying it's so scary so far up in the air, and it's to much for me to go through, I don't and won't fly unless I have to,
try playing in MONO. anyone notice 881 instead of 811?
glad i wasn't on that one
@Debbie Lucas
The problem with Boeing is they do not thoroughly test new devices they put on airplanes to ensure they work instead, we become their test subjects. Further, until all countries allow air traffic controllers to converse with one another, accidents/deaths will occur.
33:50 I've never heard of the 'aluminium' stuff Mr. Campbell is talking about. Maybe he meant the chemical element _Aluminum,_ number 13, symbol *Al* on the periodic table?
That's the way the Brits pronounce it.
@@208_treasure6 The original discoverer called it _aluminum,_ spelled with one i, the British press added an extra i in the newspapers announcing the discovery of a new element -- called "aluminium" to, I quote, "make it sound more scientific." That's almost as dumb as driving on the left side of the road, which causes many more road fatalities. (People unconsciously swerve with their dominant hand, so swerving right while driving on the left would send 90% of the population into oncoming traffic vs. the side of the road.)
At 35:50 it says "in 1997, Pan Am".... they meant to say 1987
Did Lee's parents *drive* across the US repeatedly because they refused to fly on a US carrier's airplane out of distrust regarding US maintenance and design? They make a point of noting that the Campbells drove everywhere, but seem to have left it to the viewer to draw the conclusion regarding why... If so, I can certainly understand it.
Can't understand narrator over the plane noises... Anyone else having this issue?? :(
Is actually Flight 811 not 881.
