- On 24 February 1989, part of the right-side fuselage of United Airlines Flight 811 rips off, ejecting nine people from the aircraft and causing explosive decompression. The flight later lands safely at Honolulu without any more loss of life. It was later determined that an electrical short circuit caused the cargo door to open, after an investigation was taken on by the parents of one of the victims.

I was sitting in a Qantas 747 ready for takeoff when this airplane made an emergency landing. We saw flight 811 land and fire trucks and emergency trucks and the slides etc. Quite something to see all this happen.
That's scary. I would've walked off of my plane.
What an amazing family. And props to United for meeting with them and taking them seriously.
The Campbells are genuine heroes. United Airlines executives, on the other hand, are genuine villains.
The pilots and crew did an amazing job getting that plane back on the ground.
I just wish the people making and maintaining those planes would do the same. It should not take the deaths of airplane passengers, or the trauma of survivors to fix a known, preventable error. It isn't an accident if someone knows about it and still does nothing.
Those parents did something incredible, something not many can or are able to do today. I hope that their hard work may yet not be in vain.
I really like this episode, the acting, the music, the camera settings..... Everything is just perfect. It's like they're filming in real time. Yes the animation wasnt perfect. But, its great.
The Lengths Parents Will go for Their Children is Priceless
Yes it is. I would be furious. Devastated and furious. And Boing knew the door wasn't as good as it could be.
Hitting the water at that speed is like hitting concrete.
Its not people, it's engineering... The door should close from the inside... Removing the human factors!
The most ironic thing about this incident is the fact the an aviation lawyer "ambulance chaser" was on board. I'm betting the airline was wishing he was in one of the seats that were blown out when the lawsuit's were filed.
Damn that is one impressive couple.
Dirty ass Boeing disputed the parents findings. Wow. Ruthless greedy people
And this why i dont fly airplanes. Profits over safety. It should be safety first, profits last.
Still wayyyy safer than driving. But I'm always leery anyway.
talking about bacteria when u did it
the risk of being rich
And government corruption
i hate when they interview Aviation Lawyers. even when they are witness's
okay, this is now the third time this episode has been uploaded to this channel. what gives lol
All the video's they'll upload will be repeats, I don't think there are any new episodes being made.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom I'm pretty sure this show was on the air for close to 20 years. There are far more episodes in existence than the few dozen that keep getting reposted across a few channels. I guess they don't have access to the other episodes?
@@natyliebaldwin9141 *is, Cineflix is continuing to produce Mayday to this day.
another channel, Wonder, has uploaded every episode up to and including season 12 [with the exception of season 11], so if you wanna watch those, there ya go
There aren't enough plane crashes. Most all of them have been covered on other channels as well. So eventually, there won't be any to vlog about, and channel's such as this one will fold accordingly.
@@TheEvilmooseofdoom l
i know when they build a airplane they want to save on weight, but i think certain things should take president over weight. like how about 50 less passengers and 10% less cargo and make shht out of steel. most people are so programmed to money, they are willing to kill for it. them 9 people were killed over money. period.!
These ADS have to go!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬
This was posted at least 2 months ago , could have been longer ago than that . Would be nice if N.G. would put this in the post and not as if it was just released .
