Learn how to make a traditional German dish that originated in capital of Germany named Berlin. The delicious sweetness that comes from the sautéed apples and onions gives this fried liver dish a very special touch.
Hello, do you happen to know the name of the music in this video please? Nice video too, I will try when I can
could i replace chicken liver with pig liver? chicken liver isn't common around here...
Yes, you can do this. I love chicken liver, sooo good. Thank you for watching.
I made this recently, and it was fantastic, and delicious. Thanks for posting. Someone recently posted a video about food in the former East Germany, and this was on this list; that’s how I learned about it.
I am super excited that you liked the recipe. It´s one of my family´s favorites. Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your experiences. I highly appreciate it
@@AllTastesGermanforgive me my English; did your Oma use sour cream ever? I had a list of my mum';s recipes and the last time I was in Berlin at the now defunct Adlon honestly I can't remember. My late husband loved this recipe. Please feel free to reply in German I'm very rusty but understand. ❤❤
Going to try this tonight
was it good?
My mum was from Berlin and i know this recipe can anyone tell me if anyone used a dollop of sour cream or creme fraiche? the liver was paper thin and the veggies were the time consuming part well worth it; Tx.
Looks very delicious :) How is this dish called in German language?
Leber Berliner Art
Thanks for answering the question :)
Lieber Marcel, ich hoffe es schmeckt dir, ich finde selbstgemachte Saucen einfach immer am besten.
Thanks for the video! This dish came from DDR firstly or from West Germany also? It was remind me almost the same as my mom cooked early at my USSR childhood. I was born in mid of 80`s in Soviet Russia in Moscow Region. At this time it was problematically to find a beef at stores but liver was available without any problems. Because of it a lot of dishes which need to contain meat was replaced by subproducts, liver was the most common. And of course as side dish was almost always a mashed potato. =)
Interesting! Thank you for sharing your interesting story. I think the dish was and still is popular in the the west and east part of Berlin and beyond.
Ich bin in Pommern geboren und meine Mutter hat Leber immer so gebraten. Mit Apfelscheiben und Zwiebeln.Ihr Vater war Berliner.
Pommern ist so schön, ich liebe die Landschaft.
I love liver! This looks very good and easy too. My family originated from the Alsace area so I like trying to cook German foods. Your channel is very nice.
Thank you so much for the nice comment and watching. I love liver too :) I will upload in a couple of weeks another liver recipe which originates from the Baden area which neighbors to the Alsace region. Both regions share a lot of recipes.
@@AllTastesGerman I will be looking for next recipe.
@@lauraellen189 Thank you :)
NICELY DONE!!
Classic polish dish, best way to eat the liver, im pretty sure that its much older then DDR
This German recipe goes way back to the Kaiser times and is way older than the GDR, but I am sure other countries had similar dishes.
@@AllTastesGerman i have read that its probably jewish dish.
My polish friend does this dish adding the apples to the liver and onions, a swirl of single cream and simmer together 3mins.
Absolutely delicious..
