This was THE most useful, clear and concise diamond mining guide on youtube. I've watched a lot. No BS, no preamble just "this is where and how". Very nice, you've got a sub.
"Decreased Air Exposure" is such a weird rule to have from a gameplay perspective. It encourages strip mining rather than exploring caves (which is more fun/dangerous).
I actually prefer sitting down with a playlist and going strip mining for an hour or two at a time, that’s more enjoyable to me tbh and to see that it’s still viable even in today’s updates makes me really happy, I’ve always loved the concept of working on my underground mine and making it my own with the routes and paths i take to get to bedrock
@@diegovasquez9184 I agree that strip mining can be relaxing and in some ways I find it quite therapeutic when I'm in the right mood for it. I'm definitely not saying they should get rid of it. But right now it is by far the most effective way of getting diamonds, whereas I think that caving should be just as effective. Then players can choose which one they want to do based on how they're feeling.
I think the purpose of this rule was to make it so it’s not too easy to find diamonds very quickly (well it is a lot easier nowadays anyway but still). Even with the air exposure rule I still find quite a few diamonds exploring caves if they are big enough. Finding diamonds I think should be exciting and without the air exposure rule you would probably find diamonds like it was iron. That’s my take on it personally.
I use to mine at level 12 pre-caves and cliffs. Now I mine at -57. I find so many diamonds, probably more than I would before at level 12. Caves and cliffs is miner friendly. People who love to just explore the underworld and mine walls, or just strip mining, this new world expansion is just the best
Were you caving or strip mining’s bc I’m one of those people that starts to freak out when I take more than 3 hearts I find strip mining better for my sanity but people say strip mining doesn’t work well anymore
Personally, I've worked out a bit of theory regarding multi-layered strip mining and it can completely eliminate any chance of passing by any diamonds while also being mathematically more efficient in exposing the most number of blocks in the least amount of area and time when compared to single layered strip mining. You almost mentioned it at 2:56, but the optimal way to do so would be to mine at -57, then for the layer above, mine at -54, but on a column adjacent to your lower layer's strip mine. Doing so eliminates the overlap in exposed blocks between the lower and upper layer, and allows the two layers to cover some of the missed blocks at the corners of each layer. You can shift this to -58 and -55 or even extend it to a third layer at -52 if you so desire, and it would still be more efficient than simple strip mining, so it'd mostly be up to your luck with lava and how much you value mining new chunks instead of clearing out your individual chunks more thoroughly. I usually like sticking to just two layers for this reason. That being said, I don't expect such a detailed and mathematically theory crafted guide here, so just seeing the ore generation and the basic method behind strip mining is more than good enough for a video like this.
I got what I came for and now I feel prepared to finally stop wandering around aimlessly trying to find diamonds. Great job, you're a really helpful member of the community!
Thanks for reminding me about the diamond fossils, I completely forgot about those since the first snapshot that had them, also I had no idea the air exposure thing does not apply to caves with water, so that's also a big ty. I personally really recommend going at -58/-59 and just going BRRRRRRRR forward, mining 3 blocks high tunnel and mine tunnels as far as you can mine without moving from the center in both directions every 2 blocks. Worked for me perfectly enough to get some diamonds, also I would recommend leaving any ore you find until you get a diamond pickaxe with Fortune III since it can sometimes increase your diamond count to what feels like 2.5x the amount of ores.
Also because I just remembered, if you feel like you're close to diamonds, just go for it. I can't even count the amount of times I random guessed where a diamond ore may be and actually succeded
Did not know about the fossil method. If you go villagers for equipment then fossil mining is perfect because realistically all you need is a handful of diamonds for an enchanting table or two and maybe a jukebox.

Hi, a really good way to increase your diamond count is that after you finish a strip mine, go back in it and aim at the ceiling while moving and mining. This will make you expose a ton of extra blocks per strip mine really easily. I remember there was one RUclipsr who did this in their survival world…I don’t actually remember who it was though.

I heavily recommend digging your mines in the deep dark biome! Zero spawnproofing required. Also, if you're on Bedrock, use the speed mining technique. Hold the button/trigger/key for breaking blocks without being in range of a block, then walk into range; this allows you to mine out straight 1x1 lines of blocks faster because it removes the block breaking cooldown. If you're digging a tunnel tall enough to stand in, you can mine out the blocks at head height this way until your legs hit the blocks you haven't mined out. Keep holding the button, aim downwards just slightly to break the block below the last one, then walk backwards with the mine button still held. This utilizes the same mechanic I've been telling you about, and can be done repeatedly to dig a tunnel faster. Once you have a 2 block-tall tunnel to walk through -- I personally dig it at y=-58 -- you can mine the whole tunnel down one block at full walking speed using the same technique, and continue doing so until you hit bedrock.
@@krustylesponge6250 The Warden only spawns in ancient cities, which generate immediately above the optimal y level for mining diamonds. If you spawn one, it should be completely unable to enter the tunnels you've dug. I've spawned like half a dozen and they can never reach me

I’ll played Minecraft bedrock on my PS4 for years, until i switched to a PC and played Java for the first time. I have never managed to stumble a upon a woodland mansion before. With seed finder i was able to locate one within seconds and actually raid it. I would argue that it’s not always fun playing Minecraft with a certain set of rules. I have an Iron farm, a trading hall, and already started on strip mining on level Y-55.
For some reason I absolutely love diving in aquifer caves looking for diamonds. Get a respiration helmet and a magma block, i’ll stay down there for hours
Is diamond generation 100% random or does it depend on neighboring diamond ores? What I mean is, if I find a diamond ore is there a distance to find another or do the very next tiles have the same chances of diamond ores as any other?
general rule of thumb is that if you find one diamond, mine around it to make sure you don't miss any in the same vein, after you find that continue on your way as normal, the next branch I believe has the same amount of chance to get a diamond

A strategy I’ve been doing lately is taking some water breathing potions, whether it be from a buried treasure or brewed, and going out into the ocean. Find exposed caverns deep below and swim around. My friend and I tried this Vs strip mining (no Elytra) and I found significantly more than he did using this method.
With fortune 3 I got 3 stacks just having fun exploring caves. I found a strangely big vein of diamonds in one of those lake things with glow squid. I feel like it’s easier to find diamonds now.
this was the most clear, specific and easy to follow tutorial I've seen.. I think ever actually. and it didn't confuse me or bore me to death :D definitely just got yourself a sub my dude, tysm
A better way to strip mine would be to leave a 3 block gap, not 2 or 5. The idea being that the diamond vein would almost always be 2 blocks wide. So you expose both the ends of a vein's width.
Now the only thing I'm wondering is if it would be practical to bring a conduit down with you if you're mining in aquifers, but other than that, this was helpful and I want to thank you for this.
On bedrock 1.20, if you use the crawling method using a bucket of water to sprint through, your crawling speed will actually be your swimming sprint speed so its quite fast
adding onto the crawl tunnel guide, if you can get the swift sneak enchantment (easier said than done) it does make crawling through the tunnels much much faster
I’m gonna be graduating high school soon and am gonna use more of my day focused on other things so videos like these are really helpful for saving time in the virtual world and have more time in the real world

Extremely useful information with more than just a touch of entertainment 👌 Thank you 😊 Proud subscriber
Thank you are helpful
I found a 17 diamonds vein and a diamond fossil in the same day playing and didn't know what does it was.
-53 is the spot, great for diamonds, not too low and not too high
Now the only thing I'm wondering is if it would be practical to bring a conduit down with you if you're mining in aquifers, but other than that, this was helpful and I want to thank you for this.
On bedrock 1.20, if you use the crawling method using a bucket of water to sprint through, your crawling speed will actually be your swimming sprint speed so its quite fast
can you elaborate a bit more?
Ayyy thank you for your videos! Super informative and ez to implement in gameplay!
I think the only other helpful thing this video is missing is that I believe Y-53 is super safe diamond mining, because its one block above lava pools
i made a 100 by 50 rectangle and got a stack and 18 diamonds works really well thank you great video🔥🔥🔥
No problem 👍
Used your tips and found 8 diamonds after a few minutes of strip mining. Thank you so much :)
Thanks bro you say everything we need to know you are a lifesaver
No problem 👍
@@Eyecraftmc You got a new sub
adding onto the crawl tunnel guide, if you can get the swift sneak enchantment (easier said than done) it does make crawling through the tunnels much much faster
Respect this tuber full of honesty 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯💯💯❤️🙏🏻
This was so helpful. Thank you. Instant follow.
Edit: I have found so many diamonds because of this and I can't thank you enough. You're amazing bro.
I know this is a video for diamonds but I paused the video at 0:56. Look to the left, is that a mother load of iron I'm looking at?

Fallen in love with this channel
one way also to get quick diamonds is by looking for sunken ships and if lucky you can also find buried treasure that will give you some diamonds
I’m gonna be graduating high school soon and am gonna use more of my day focused on other things so videos like these are really helpful for saving time in the virtual world and have more time in the real world
is this still efficent ?

This video helped a lot. I always played on version 1.17 and never 1.18 because of the clay in the rivers and swamps method but this video really helps a lot for finding diamonds in 1.18
This vid helped me out so mutch , thank you !

Great video! Definitely didn't know about the fossils! A quick question. Does the seed finder fossil method work on Minecraft PE?
Yes it does, in chunkbase on the seed finder there is an option to switch to bedrock edition / pe
@@Eyecraftmc Thank you!
ok wow this is really useful, been lacking in diamonds for a while now so here's hoping I can get enough to both repair tools and make some armor
