In this workout video Meredith is guiding you through a quick 10 minute lower body and glutes exercise using ankle weights (optional) for added resistance.
Lower body workouts are a great way to keep your legs, calves, lower back and glutes in shape. Taking time out of your workout schedule to just focus on your lower body is a good way to build strength and stability in the muscles that we use everyday.
Ankle weights are also a great way to add some resistance because they challenge your muscles in ways that we don't usually get to use in everyday activities. By creating resistance, our muscles are forced to put in that extra work that will give great results if used regularly.
As always, only do movements that you are comfortable with and never force anything that causes you pain or discomfort. Keep your water close by when you need it and have a great workout!

Thanks for this wonderful workout. I do it several times a week and it has made a big difference for my knees. I use this shorter kind of workout focusing on specific areas to supplement longer, more general workouts and sometimes will do them a couple of times to really increase the effect. But all your workouts are great!😃
Thank you so much!
short and effective legs and butt workout. thank you. Happy New Year

Meredith happy new year, I did this one but as I don’t have ankle weights I did this without, hope that is ok, felt it when I was stretching out, ty Sue
That is perfect Sue! A great ROM workout without using equipment! Happy New Year, I’m proud of you!
Just started using your videos instead of going to the gym. Like them. Wonder what weight ankle weights and kettleball you recommend. Thanks for helping me stay healthy in 2022.
Hi Cathy! I’m so proud of you! As for your question, ankle weights should start light(2lbs)to get used to the movements, especially if you have any knee issues. Always make sure to use the big leg muscle, quadriceps (thigh area), to lift the foot. Kettlebell can also start light, around 5lbs, and see how that feels. I hope this helps! Take care, Meredith
Hi Meredith
Did this one a couple of days ago, and have put it on my playlist. Very good, thank you! Have a happy New Year 😁. Best wishes
