The packaging system is not only genius but it makes your stuff look next level professional. It looks like something I would get form Ikea and I mean that as a compliment, a big one. That's next level stuff man.
That product packaging is brilliant! I'm with you on the marketing methodology -- I put most all my "ads" for my products into vertical video short form content.
One thing I would look at is oversized wall for your package. Reducing that thickness can decrease material, print time, and what by the consumer will just become waste material since not easily recycled as most recycling wont accept 3d prints. You could still have a nice sturdy slip fit with only a .6mm wall thickness and if use Arachne in your slicer, the Bambu printers do an amazing job at simply making that single thick wall instead of trying to run 2 perimeters with the default .4 nozzle. I actually just finished some ornament holders using this method and they will serve me well transporting them to and from market booths while keeping things organized.
Another great video, obviously your channel is hitting the right people as your numbers are constantly on the rise, great idea for the packaging, sometime maybe do a vid on the gear you use to record / edit your vids , Thanks !!!
Appreciate it! I'll add that to my list. One day down the road I'm sure I'll share. I want to be careful because I use to get very discouraged feeling like I didn't have the right equipment, and would hate to have someone feel that way. My next video will talk about what you need to get started! So that should cover some of it :)
Always very informative videos that are good practical tips. The custom packaging is a neat idea. How often do you have print failures of one kind or another where you may have to do multiple prints to finish something? That would seem to eat into order turn around time and cost.
Thanks! For actual product printing, not prototyping, I rarely have failed prints. If a product I design ends up having a high failure rate I either stop selling it or change the design. I'll talk a bit more about this in an upcoming video!
Hey man I’ve been wanting do to this but family and life have been my priority. I think this may give me the push to do this again Keep up the good work and I’ll be watching your journey ❤
How do you drain and maintain that water heater? you need to get a drain pan and a sensor at the minimum down there, you can also get water cut offs with sensors as well. playing with fire.
Man, what’s funny is I’ve been thinking about how to use my 3D printer to package some metal stuff I do and then I came across this video. Thanks for the inspiration! Would you mind linking the shrink wrap and heat source you use?
That's awesome! I use a really cheap shrink wrap sealer off Amazon ($20 or so) with bags that fit my product sizes. I'd suggest a cheap heat gun on Amazon as well, but I have the DeWalt 20v one since I have a lot of DeWalt batteries :)
Well done, it looks really neat, I'm not a fan of printing packaging but you kept it minimal and efficient. In Germany I'm not sure how to start my own buisness. As i don't have a specific niche but a broad spectrum of intrests😂😅
Interesting idea. Thank you for sharing! Do you guys need to register some kind of legal entity (like LLC) to pay taxes for such a side hustle incomes?
No problem! And yes, you'll have to pay taxes either separately as a business entity or included with your personal taxes. I'd ask an accountant if you are unsure :)
I’m loving your channel! I’m hoping to start building a 3d printing business soon as well. Do you think it is a better idea to start with a variety of products? The growth so quickly on our channel shows how awesome your quality is! Always looking forward to the uploads.
Have you looked into starting your own website instead of selling on Etsy? I’m considering that as well, but Etsy does do a great job of marketing and exposure for you. Amazon FBA seems like an interesting option as well since your products would be available with prime shipping!
I‘m looking to buy my first printer and would love to know why you got A1‘s and what features you miss with them. I‘m not going to sell my prints, just want to hear your thoughts and curious if I should spend more. So take it as a video idea 😊
Get the biggest printer you can afford! I bought more A1's because my issue is ability to print multiple orders at the same time. For the cost of a P1P I was able to increase my print capacity from 1 to 4 printers. That's a big difference. No products I sell are larger than the A1 print bed.
Would love to see the shipping process! The packaging looks great, but I’ve never understood the shipping label creation and actually sending it out part. Do you let a few orders pile up and make one trip to the post office? As a business is there a different process at the post office for shipping or would it be the same process of me wanting to mail a letter to my grandma? Best of luck on your endeavour!
I try to get orders out as quickly as I can. If that means a daily post office run, I make time for that. I purchase my labels right in Etsy, print them out, and stick it on the box. At the beginning I started with just sticker paper, now I use a thermal label printer.
So how do you go about finding something to make or re make for sale? I really want to do this, but I have no idea what people want. And things I print for myself, I never hear anyone saying, yeah that would be nice.
It was the same for me at the beginning. My wife said "Hey, why don't you just put that online and see if people will buy it.". So I did! Just spent time making what you like. I'm sure there are others out there like you. :)
What camera do you use that follows you during the time lapse? I'm digging the 'behind the scenes' type vlog. I'm at the very beginning phase of creating products and listing them on etsy. I haven't even made my first sale yet. But I'll take a pic just like you did when it happens! hahaha
Thanks! Right now I just measure the size of the item, and look on Amazon for a box that fits. Pretty straight forward. The one suggestion is don't buy a bubble mailer or box without a face that is 4"x6" minimum. That is the standard size of a shipping label and they need to lay flat to be processed correctly.
I have an Excel doc where I keep a list of all my purchases. If there is more money in the bank than what's on the excel doc, I am in the black. Next year I'll have a different approach, but my operation is so small it wasn't necessary for 2024.
Hey this is so great to see your RUclips taking off so quickly. Can I ask what you’re shooting on to have the tracking? Pretty good set up, makes me think it would be a DJI osmo pocket or something? Thanks in advance!
Are you printing your company information on the pieces? Referrals can be huge, but unfortunately people's memory are short. I envision someone asking their friend how they mounted their 'battery to the peg board and they saying "oh I got it on Etsy but I can't remember who from"..
to be honest, it looks cool but I don't like this kind of packaging because you print a big piece of scrap. Your Customer don't need the extra Part you only used for the packaging.. So he throw it away. Why don't you just use a small connection to between the parts - like 2-3 Layers with 1mm thick connection between every Part. .. Other Solution could be, that you design the frame the way that your customer can use it for example as a picture frame
Appreciate the feedback! I had another suggestion to just reduce the wall thickness. I did try adding sure type connections and it really degraded the quality of the product when removing them. I can't assume customers will cut them off. They will likely rip them apart. It's interesting when making these decision because everything has a tradeoff. Down the road I'm sure I''ll have version 4 of the packaging that makes it better again!
@@OfficialOffDaBench Yes, you’re right. I’m not a fan of creating even more plastic waste just to make something look better when it’s packaged. I understand your intention behind it, and it does look absolutely amazing. I’m sure you’ll come up with another idea. Maybe the whole thing could be solved with a foldable cardboard template, or it would need to be made reusable in some way. Then it would be a great concept! For example, like the idea of being able to use it for photos or instant pictures. Maybe other ideas will come up too-like another product: a sort of drawer organizer, similar to Gridfinity. Then your packaging becomes an extra box for the system, and maybe you’ll even gain a returning customer who’ll buy more boxes.
People overthink logos. Until you are a household name, your logo could change 200x and people wouldn't even notice. A brand name and brand recognition of that name is leaps and fathoms more important than a graphic that almost needs international recognition to matter in today market.
Thanks for the feedback! Logos are interesting because compared to a large brand like Target or OldSpice. Yeah my logo doesn't stack up. But, that's not the goal. Who knows, I may change it again down the road, but whatever it is I want it to have my personality!
The packaging system is not only genius but it makes your stuff look next level professional. It looks like something I would get form Ikea and I mean that as a compliment, a big one. That's next level stuff man.
Thanks! I love that place. Actually stopping there next week 😂
Going to get some SKADIS board for some products.
I’m so glad the algorithm suggested this channel to me. Keep up the great work!
Appreciate it! :)
Packaging idea is nothing short of brilliant 👏
Appreciate it!
That product packaging is brilliant! I'm with you on the marketing methodology -- I put most all my "ads" for my products into vertical video short form content.
Thanks! I'll check out your shorts to get ideas :)
This is all well thought out!
Thanks!
Your packaging idea and implementation is on another level - congrats and hope you get the success you deserve!!
Appreciate it! 🙂
That is genius level packaging! Thanks for sharing videos like this, it has really inspired me to step my game!
Thanks! Glad it helped :🙂
I’m loving your vlogs :) ❤ really inspire me to figure out my own printer to add to my product range :)
Thanks!
Congrats on the production value, sound is SO good! And image quality! Great setup!
Thanks!
Great idea for the packaging!! Looks super professional!
Thanks!

I'll experiment with the wall thicknesses. Thanks for the advice!
I love the packaging that you have designed, and I would like to implement something similar. Do you have a video about the shrink wrap that you use?
I don’t have a specific video, but the wrap is use is linked in the description!
@OfficialOffDaBench thanks! I did not even think to look there!

Awesome bro. Keep doing what you're doing!
Appreciate it!
The tracking is a bit aggressive, is there a way to make the motion smoother? Great video!
Thanks! I'll think I have to walk slower. I have the settings dialed down already.
Great channel. Will be huge.
Thanks!

I believe it's a DJI Osmo Pocket
Its the DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Good idea with the packaging. How did you decide on your boxes, and where do you get them? Are they standard sizes?
Thanks! Right now I just measure the size of the item, and look on Amazon for a box that fits. Pretty straight forward. The one suggestion is don't buy a bubble mailer or box without a face that is 4"x6" minimum. That is the standard size of a shipping label and they need to lay flat to be processed correctly.
Good afternoon, why do you use Bamboolab A1 Mini printers with dimensions of 180x180 instead of Bamboolab A1 with dimensions of 256x256?
They are very inexpensive and just what I've needed. My next round of printer purchases will be the A1 or P1P.
I would love to hear about how you are tracking the finances of running the business
I have an Excel doc where I keep a list of all my purchases. If there is more money in the bank than what's on the excel doc, I am in the black. Next year I'll have a different approach, but my operation is so small it wasn't necessary for 2024.

I'm not at the moment. Still need to find a way to include that :)
How do you make the inserts?
I'll add this to my list of video ideas! Right now I use Affinity Designer to make them, print them out, then cut them to size.
Would you recommend the a1 minis over the a1?
I'd say get the biggest printer you can afford! You won't regret it :)
I'll explain why I have the a1 minis in an upcoming video.
@ thank you :)
Found your channel a few days ago and am really enjoying it! (btw, I'm curious about the camera you're using)
From the way its tracking him I'd say its a DJI osmo pocket 3.
Yeah, most likely an Osmo Pocket
Thanks! ^^ They guessed right. Its the DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Great content and tutorial. I am hoping to do this same thing in 2025
Thanks! Hope your store does well :)
Neat.

No offense, but i would change the logo. It doesn't look professional to me. Just my opinion. Great content.
I think it looks fine
While I can see what you're saying, I think it's fine for an Etsy shop.
It's fine, it's a an Etsy shop not a mega corporation. It's fun and playful.

Brought one down from upstairs, but still want to buy one specific for my workshop :)
