You got the closest to what I'd say the point is. The "dark" version of her is the "good" one. It's how the main character really feels, and she's got agency. She's not pleasing to anyone's eye, she's not singing or bearing herself in any way that others expect. And she's disturbed by the effect her partner has on her, as he seems to want her to conform this "light", "saccharine" and actually truly perverted idea of what she should be, look like, represent, act like. As does the audience, of course. Which is why the transition line into the "blue moon" part is "I guess you'd rather have the star than the moon". "You want to see a sexed-up lolita showing legs and singing a schlager, not an Irish goblin struggling with the human condition". The Moon is "blue", because in English that meens "sad, yearning, anxious". So if she becomes a "star", as the audience and her lover expect, everyone's happy but she's miserable and stuck in what seems to be an enormously toxic relationship (with both!)
Then her "dark" self protests again, but the "dark" self - loses! And then we're back in the Blue Moon saccharine hell, and the demands of her lover (and the audience) are granted. She gets stripped down to near naked and goes full cabaret, with the lover extatic and showing her off to the audience in that very risque spin.
BUT, as the chandelier goes up, she sings that in order to keep pleasing him - and the audience - she is being "drained and hollow" and that what they want out of her is "doomsday blue", something that can only end in apocalyptic misery.
And then, having given everyone what they came to see, she turns everyone's messed up desires against them, and shows that she is *still* the sane one, except now that everyone got their horrible wish to come true they can't fight back against her. And so she gets to put a triumphant end to it.
Srry for long text, felt like sharing it w a fellow writer. P sure this is what's going on, it's sorta basic comparative literature stuff, but really, really, really well done, and 100% unexpectedly deeper and smarter than anyone would expect.

A very complete and perfectly realised artistic vision. This, plus the performances from Ukraine and Switzerland show that as much thought and effort went into creating striking images and staging that, along with committed performances by the artistes, elevated the overall presentation to a very high artistic level

I do not think fantastic staging necessarily takes away from the vocal performance! They were great vocally while doing everything required of them for the staging. Theres the small shake when they are turned by the dancer before the drop but otherwise its like perfect (to me)
As for as I understand they originally had something like "free Palestine" or "ceasfire" written in Ogham script on their face during rehearsals but was told to change it after rehearsals in order to preserve the non political nature of the contest. So the aired version at the semi-final version apparently stated "Crown the Witch" (I think this is correct but my understanding of Ogham script is quite limited). I've not seen any primary sources in regards to the situation but it sounds very plausible given the EBU's broadcasting standards. Also the outfit they reveal is in the colours of the transgender pride flag given Bambi is queer and takes great pride in being an ambassador for queer people in Ireland.

Aspecto no solo la gran apuesta de la canción sino todas las actuaciones participantes de Eurovisión.

This comment is important, a lot of the blue and pink symbolism is to represent trans identities which is important to them as they are non-binary (and use they/them pronouns)
