Most car drivers are not paying sufficient attention, rarely see bikes, frequently don't see other cars, or even trucks and buses. Every time you swing your leg over think... NOW I' M INVISIBLE. I find that most people do the wave here in Chicago, but it could be because we have much less bikers and a shorter riding season than in much of Europe, so seeing a fellow glutton for punishment on an early spring or late fall day creates a sense of comradery. I've even accidentally given a wave to a motorcycle once before realizing I was on my bicycle that day! Only got a bemused look in return :)
In my experience, In Northamptonshire and surrounding areas 95% of bikers nod to each other. The ones that don't are probably watching for the potholes!
I’ve noticed that bikers where I live, now stick out a leg as opposed to waving or nodding. Totally agree. You should acknowledge a fellow biker no matter what they are riding. Nice bike btw. 👍
Talking of being invisible, have you noticed that some new LGVs or what where known as HGVs are mirrorless, they have little cameras where you would expect to see rear view mirrors? When overtaking one I like to keep one eye on the drivers mirror to see if they have noticed me, with no mirrors we have lost that channel of communication between you and the truck driver, that's a step backwards if you ask me.
I saw an Audi Q7 20 plate the other day with the same setup, no mirrors but side-mounted cameras, scary it's just teaching people not to check their mirrors or blindspots.

Very nice! Most bikers around here (Northamptonshire) acknowledge each other. I’ve not ridden with a quick shifter so I shouldn’t criticise but I enjoy changing gear, especially matching revs on down shifts (sometimes my up shifts (engage clutch open throttle coordination) leaves room for improvement). I see the benefits if you are racing of course 🇬🇧🏍
Interesting My first bike was around a 74 or so Ducati 860 which was just great to ride. A couple of years later I got a 78 Ducati 900 SD and it was great to ride handled great better than any thing else I have been on. So I don't know what your talking about the new panigale being so easy to ride. My SD was very easy to ride it turned so easy at slow speed also. I also had a Gold wing for a while I forgot what year. I was my brothers bike and I bought it from him. Probably about a 83 or so.

@@TheMissendenFlyer Ok, here it goes. "Hey kids is mister flyer here. Here are the top 5 things I don't like about the Ducati Panigale, in no specific order." 1. Not a comfortable bike. But it is a sport bike so not a surprise. 2. The mirrors are "rubbish". They vibrate a lot. Can't see what is behind you. 3. It is an expensive bike. 4. A lot of power, which is good, but much more power than needed for normal road trips. A 750cc engine is all you really need. 5. It runs very hot. If you live in a moderate climate you should be ok, but should be aware of the heat if you live in a hot climate. A couple of honorable mentions: 1. It is a "one trick pony" and 2. My (meaning you) bike is prettier (which I agree). So there they are. How did I do? :) :)

Crazy isn’t it, I know you shouldn’t, but you end up not bothering yourself due to the lack of response!! Yet if you go to France/Spain other bikers shake a leg or wave at you without fail whether they’re on a moped to a Harley 🤔
::Sigh:: the end of summer ☀️☀️☀️, missing that sunshine in cold wet ‘n dark December. I wouldn’t part with 16k for a new one (personally), not my kind of bike (enjoyed the vid👍).
@@TheMissendenFlyer good stuff - highly recommend the California Superbike School btw. I discovered track after 30 years of street riding and touring, so am a late entrant at almost 50, but its is fun. Definitely takes some commitment!
I thought not nodding was just a thing here in Shropshire. Sadly no it seems. Contrast with the continent where you can get left-arm-ache from all the waving. 👋
I've learnt to slow down when entering a roundabout, particularly the smaller ones. Gives other road users a chance to see you and react or for you to stop. I like the V tech, hope you managed to get another one.
my son is a learner, and everytime he is in my car, or on the back of my bike, i give him tips on what to look for, like checking for red light jumpers, entry points on roundabouts for danger
I'm a serial 'nodder' in the midlands and would say I get a nod or wave back 50% of the time. I think the other 50% are made up of miserable commuters and GS owners! 😂
I am a total Moto maniac, but I own a Vespa, and a Lambretta too, and always wave when on them, but I think that many Scooterists aren't really Moto heads..
Might be the microphone, but it sounds awful to me. Like a 250cc single. Really agricultural. Much prefer the 4 cylinder inline motor sound and smoothness, such as a GSXR1000 or my last bike, the Busa.
Great vid as normal but as for the bike!! - I’m probably tainted by the number of time I pushed my Monster home so would never entertain another Ducati
Good review of a bike I wouldn't be interested in. Too uncomfortable and not fun to ride at road legal speeds. Hence the annoyance when riding in slower traffic.
True on both counts but a beautiful looking thing, a wonderful bit of engineering and a joy to have in the collection (is how I justify my 899 at least)....

@@TheMissendenFlyer Sweet, I noticed that the audio in the video with the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 (great video btw) was really clear compared to this video, not sure if you switched something up?
Not a huge issue anyway, just a recommendation :)
great!!!!!!! now i'm getting summer withdrawal symptoms! :(
Sorry about that - I thought it might lift your spirits!
Hey TMF! Would love you to try the new Aprilia RS660 as a comparrison to see what you think. One of the best looking bikes around I think. If you can, get one in Acid Gold. Apparently the photos don't do it justice. Grey, cold and wet here.......
Yes when I can, I will!
Beautiful motorcycle!
It sure is!
good idea with this cable tie ;)
Thank for posting. Great bike. I think I can guess some of the 5 things you don't like about it. :)
Go on - what would they be??
@@dsimon9s29 Wanna job?
@@TheMissendenFlyer I could be the USA version of Andy. :) But after quick consideration I can only say "Hell no!" You are better looking, have a cooler accent, and you have more hair than I do. (yes you do) :) Keep up the great job you are doing.
Nice review as always. I miss those warm, late summer days...😢
Tell me about it!!
It's a warm 28 degs at 6pm in Brisbane Australia right now.. Time for a ride
I suggest that the bikers that dont wave or nod back are the IAM advanced motorcycle groups🤔
Boy I have meet a few arse holes that are members of that😂
I couldn't possibly comment....... ;0)
Nods & waves :-)
Funny you saying about other bikers not waving or acknowledging, usually it’s BMW owners... The GS brigade usually!!
Well I always wave hen I'm on my GS - although seldom get waved back at....go figure!
Crazy isn’t it, I know you shouldn’t, but you end up not bothering yourself due to the lack of response!!
Yet if you go to France/Spain other bikers shake a leg or wave at you without fail whether they’re on a moped to a Harley 🤔
Seems to be the way the UK is going unfortunately😔
@@TheMissendenFlyerNegative feedback loop from the wave-receiver experiencing some GS riders not waving perhaps?
::Sigh:: the end of summer ☀️☀️☀️, missing that sunshine in cold wet ‘n dark December. I wouldn’t part with 16k for a new one (personally), not my kind of bike (enjoyed the vid👍).
Fair do's.....
I love my V4S, but I think the V2 is a more manageable track weapon. I mostly only ride my V4S on the track. Do you like to do track days Mate?
Yeah I've done a few on my 899 and Street Triple - not a super enthusiast but they're fun from time to time and improve your riding.....
@@TheMissendenFlyer good stuff - highly recommend the California Superbike School btw. I discovered track after 30 years of street riding and touring, so am a late entrant at almost 50, but its is fun. Definitely takes some commitment!
Good Review BTW :-)
Thanks!
how do you safley secure the pangale v2 since I cant see a way to put a chain through the frame ??
Best not leave it unattended!
Another good video TMF
Cheers as ever.....
Number one... Looks like a Japanese bike from 1982...
I thought not nodding was just a thing here in Shropshire. Sadly no it seems. Contrast with the continent where you can get left-arm-ache from all the waving. 👋
Indeed, must be a miserable Brits thing.....
Sounds like a lawn mower with a worn big end!
How did you know back in September that we wouldn’t see this until after lockdown?🤔
I didn't - but I did know the video wasn't scheduled for release until December....
Not my thing ,but I do see the appeal.
Ah yes. The classic roundabout, sorry mate. Didn't see you. Just how I was taken out on a roundabout. My VFR 800 vtec written off.
I've learnt to slow down when entering a roundabout, particularly the smaller ones. Gives other road users a chance to see you and react or for you to stop. I like the V tech, hope you managed to get another one.
my son is a learner, and everytime he is in my car, or on the back of my bike, i give him tips on what to look for, like checking for red light jumpers, entry points on roundabouts for danger
i bought 2021 panigale
i always found difficult to get a look of the bike ( supersport) with V twin engine sound ( like a dirtbike)
Cool
how does a quick shifter up & down actually work?
It cuts the ignition long enough for the gears to engage without damaging the engine....at least that's how I think they work....
@@TheMissendenFlyer yes but what are u using to change gear?
@@redjacc7581 you still use the gear lever, unless you are disabled, then you can use triptronic, which activates the lever for you
@@BigBadLoneWolf ah ok tyvm
I'm a serial 'nodder' in the midlands and would say I get a nod or wave back 50% of the time. I think the other 50% are made up of miserable commuters and GS owners! 😂
Yes that's about the hit rate I get Samuel (including when I'm riding my GS you cheeky devil!!)
I find Scooter riders do not wave :)
Yes I find that too - I put it down to them being used as transport primarily rather then the riders being 2 wheeled enthusiasts like us....
I am a total Moto maniac, but I own a Vespa, and a Lambretta too, and always wave when on them, but I think that many Scooterists aren't really Moto heads..
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
V2 or V4 ?
Depends - if road only then the V2 makes more sense, track god then get the V4......
👍
Might be the microphone, but it sounds awful to me. Like a 250cc single. Really agricultural.
Much prefer the 4 cylinder inline motor sound and smoothness, such as a GSXR1000 or my last bike, the Busa.
Well horses for courses and all that eh?
Great vid as normal but as for the bike!! - I’m probably tainted by the number of time I pushed my Monster home so would never entertain another Ducati
They did not nod to you cos your on a DUCATI ...... lol....
As beautiful as it is, still sounds like a bag of bolts😬
Not at full chat it doesn't....
👍🏽😂
Good review of a bike I wouldn't be interested in. Too uncomfortable and not fun to ride at road legal speeds. Hence the annoyance when riding in slower traffic.
True on both counts but a beautiful looking thing, a wonderful bit of engineering and a joy to have in the collection (is how I justify my 899 at least)....
Just nod out of respect and civility, hey.
