Great electronics package - even includes a self fogging TFT !!! I could actually detect a tear in your eye as you contemplated handing it back!
I'm waiting for the package that makes the police officer forget why he pulled me over.
Turn in the mini-Pani and keep this one.
Yes only seems to fog up when you break the speed limit - just hope the speed cameras are also fogged up!
Years ago I had a 750ss,awesome bit of kit and every time you rode it you couldn’t help but smile, a friend asked me once “ what is it like to ride?”, my reply to him was I can’t really describe it to you,the only way you will know what it is like is to own one and I think everyone at some point in their riding career needs to own one.
Agreed!
I’m really looking forward to your take on the new Trident 660. All the magazine journo’s seem to be swayed by fancy trips to exotic locations. I really enjoy your unbiased reviews.
Thank you - I’m expecting it to be a good bike but told Triumph I would rather review it in a rainy Slough than go to Tenerife and ride it - hence why you didn’t see me at that launch...will be a while before I get one to ride in Slough though....but looking forward to it none the less!
Lovely to see virtually no traffic and the bike ridden in real world terms.
My sports bike riding days are over, but its nice to see one enjoyed.
And those sunny days.....
Yes seems a long time ago now but that was only 3 months ago!
A nightcap and a flyer video. Goodnight all🥃. Btw beautiful bike.
Good morning here Chad!
TMF.... have a great Christmas Andy - hope you and your family have a great one after a bastard year - let’s hope 2021 improves things. Thanks for all the vids etc, kept us all going !
My pleasure LordPunter61 - I've loved bringing you videos and thanks for sharing my hobby! Merry Christmas to you too...
G'Day TMF. The Panigale V2 is a beautiful bike for the younger sports rider. My wrists, leaning over the tank and
that huge heat problem its got is to much for this old body. I'm upright and naked now!!! Have a good Christmas
Andy, you deserve it after all the quality videos we've had throughout this year. Thanks
Thanks Robert - you too!
I bet you tell all the ladies that :) Referring to your 'Upright and naked now' comment - haha
Good insight into a bike I probably wouldn't buy given the funds, but can completely understand why others do.
The great thing about biking is that it doesn't matter what you ride. We all generally get on. In a world where diversity is often questioned, people should look at us.
Thanks for all the hard work this year.
Happy travels
My pleasure TT - thanks for watching and commenting!
Good thing you have your own personal Panigale to come home too!
Definitely!!
Good point 👍🏼
Thanks for keeping us entertained while caught in such a challenging year Mr Flyer. All the best and see you in 2021 👍🏻
My pleasure Captain K - thanks for sharing my hobby! All the best for 2021....
Thanks for yet another great video, i'm keeping an eye on those used V2s as prices creep down. Cheers Andy.
No problem 👍
What a bike! Merry Xmas Mr & Mrs Flyer, thanks for all the reviews this year, cheers :-)
Thanks for all your support and encouragement this year SB - all the best!
Couldn't agree more about a premium bike not having a fuel gauge or a heat shield fitted as standard......and it seems a self-pixelating speedo would be useful too!
Not just Ducati. I recently bought a brand new Kawasaki ZZR1400, described by Kawasaki as a touring bike. No cruise control, no heated grips, no radiator guard, and you really need to fit the 'touring screen'.... All things in my opinion that should be a prerequisite to a 'touring' bike. Still love the bike obviously, but it does leave a bad taste in the throat when you have to spend hundreds on 'extras' before you even pick a bike up....
@@BibtheBoulder Assuming you’re in UK, I can’t understand why a touring bike wouldn’t have heated grips as standard either. You can get them as an extra, but it was quite a job installing them on my Z900RS Jaffa. Same with a centre stand, essential if you ask me.
@@gm16v149 Yes, I had forgotten about the centre stand. I had the heated grips fitted by the dealer who fitted them for free....!
Looks and sounds fabulous. Had clip on's back in the day but I don't think my wrists would cope for too long now.
Seriously thought about buying the V2, ended the getting the 950 Supersport. I think I'll go test ride one after all.....
A ton of real world experience and opininon in this - and all on the mark. TMF for the real stuff.
Cheers Scott - thanks for all your support and encouragement this year....much appreciated!
Less is more when it comes to this bike and it’s still a rocket.
Agreed Ian - thanks for watching!
You were blessed with a lot of those traffic lights, perfect timing 👌🏻😎
Makes a change!
Little known fact, but traffic lights automatically change to green when a Ducati approaches.
@@Domitianvs I hope you’re right, I’m seriously looking at the new monster in March - any thoughts?
Nice vid as ever & good to see how well behaved it was round town. Seemed very easy going.
Yes surprisingly so I thought....
Lovely bike, but not without its faults, but I suppose none are perfect. Wishing you and your family a happy Christmas and a happy new year too. Here's hoping 2021 is a better year for all of us.
Amen to that Lee!
Thanks for sll the great vids this year. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and let's all hope for a better New year. Cheers Andy
Thank you Keith - thanks for all your support and encouragement this year - Merry Christmas to you and yours...A
Beautiful bike, sunny day and a white van blocking the road. Maybe an occasional Rolls Royce passing by. What a day hehe
I love the TFT on the flying red sewing machine! I must scratch my Ducati itch when I’m allowed to keep more than one bike! Love the overtake on the van, it helps us understand its performance as it’s difficult to get the sense of speed on a bike unless you go a very illegal speed!
Very true - slow these aren't I can assure you!
@@TheMissendenFlyer it’s funny isn’t it how easy it is to get caught up in power top trumps. I ride a S1000RR and quickly realised how pointless a 200bhp bike is on U.K. roads. Less power means you can ride it harder for longer and enjoy it more, still 155bhp means the V2 can still smash speed limits in seconds. I think about 100bhp is probably the sweet spot for being able to have fun without getting to ‘I’m going to jail’ speeds!
@@LeeXRV Agree anything between 80 to 120 Bhp always seems about right for road use, still Incredible performance compared to most vehicles you come across.
Think you captured what the V2 is about it's a fantastic motorcycle just the right blend of speed sound look's and road going ability, Here's to 21 TMF 🎄
Thanks D C - good riddance 2020 eh?!
“If you think 2020 was bad, wait til it turns 21 and starts drinking”......not mine, but funny 😆
It's hard to argue with the fun value you get for the price on that bike.
Thankyou Andy & Carol for the cracking entertainment in what was a difficult year , wishing you both ,your family, viewers a happy Christmas and hopefully better years to come!
Ps. Don't want to ruin Christmas lunch but as you tuck into that Turkey remember it's probably been fisted at some stage! Ta Ra . 👍❤🍻🥧🍻🥧🎉
Merry Christmas Robert!
Just an FYI, something keeps getting on your camera and the dash readout is all blurry.
Love the bike. The audio doesn't really convey the sound though. You can kind of feel the airbox breathing when you give it a fistfull but through the camera it just sounds nice rather than nice plus.
There is something special about certain bikes. I'm more into my classics but there are still some gems in the new bike market and I think this is one of them.
Yeah I agree
weird how the speedo suddenly blurs on highways ! lol have a great Christmas to you and the missus stay safe mate. Oh and great reveiw as ever
Thank you - you too!
It’s the wind. It creates turbulence behind the screen to the point it becomes blurry with all the dust it pulls in to its little vortex ;) all due to road legal speed of course, weirdly enough.
Just been catching up on a few of your videos. I can agree with your assessment, low speed riding I find harder than on my Fireblade, and strangely it feels heavier pushing it around. Love the quickshifter. Personally I prefer the white one, and now I've just had the first service I'm looking forward to enjoying it some more this summer.
Speaking of Latino beauties, do you have any plans to get some seat time on the Aprilia RS660?
I'd certainly love too - no firm plans or way of doing so at the moment but it's certainly on the list!
Lol, when did Italians become Latino?
@@iamtherealzombie they were before it was taken for South America etc.
Maybe you have to review your misconceptions
@@iamtherealzombie when did Latinos become other than Italians, i don't even know anyone from south America who speaks Latin
As usual love your videos. But as always have to disagree on a few things..
1, I still think it's sounds like Lower cc bike, maybe just the video but doesn't sound great to me.
2. No fuel gauge, break fluid container hits the visor are un forgivable I'm afraid.
3. The fact the heat is still a problem years later is a fact that they A cant solve the problem or B cant be bothered.
4. Its a shame you have a 899 and had it a fair few years and it's taken up until now to appreciate it. If you don't mind me saying I think you bought it to look at more than ride it.
Keep up the good work.
That's very true Chris - I openly admit I love owning my 899 'cos I like looking at it - I've ridden it maybe three times this year.....great machine and a work of art. A keeper.
Suits you, TMF, but you know your heart belongs to..... GS? 😉
All the best!
no fuel gauge...really??
you're right - that seems like an almost intolerable oversight in this day and age (not to mention the price of admission)!
Indeed - a personal bugbear of mine....
No, there’s a fuel gauge. It’s the fuel mileage indicator. Remember, this is a road legal track bike. So, ~100 miles is your tank limit.
@@CanonMatters2Me I prefer touring and the places I go a bike which will go at least 100 miles is all I need so long as it’s fit for touring as well....so lack of a fuel gauge doesn’t faze me....100 miles has passed? Fill her up....and I can because the east coast of the USA has plenty of filling stations.
Some bikes have such a complicated tank that there no room for an accurate sender. Tracer only has half tank down due to tank shape
@@jonnycando touroing on this Panigale? Thats someone who wants to spend three hours a day gassing up. 😂.
Thank you for posting. Stating the obvious, but a beautiful bike. More importantly, stay healthy specially with the latest covid developments.
Thank you - you too and thanks for watching this year - appreciate all your comments.....
Happy Christmas from me and Gesto :D x
Happy Christmas to you two too...
I have a 1299 I have no fuel guage it doesn't worry me I set the tripmeter after i fill and know around 160 to 180km i have to refuel. Thats my fuel guage so stop winging about no fuel guage the bike is awsome to ride it looks beautuful and is insanely fast.
I do the same Bret but I do intend to keep whinging as there's no good excuse for it on any vehicle that runs on fuel....
Great looking and sounding bike. Too bad about the felt heat. I really don't understand why its such a problem though I've heard its related to the exhaust pipe running up and out in the rear. This is especially odd because Aprilia V4s do not have this problem - in fact barely any felt heat at all in my experience on RSV4 and Tuono V4s. The engine temp will rise in traffic but the rider is comfy.
...actually it's rather nice in the winter in the UK!
Lovely bike!I own a 959, I know how sweet they are!
Sure are Kevin....enjoy!
Great. Not cheap but competitive.
Lovely machine! And not a air bag in sight
Just a wind bag!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer lol well Merry Xmas Andy cheers for the viewing and all your hard work 👏 👍 👌
Getting mine in 2 months. Trading in my 2018 sss
Congratulations!
Do you think you'll ever get a chance on a CCM motorcycle, these small capacity bikes are in my opinion the best type of bike for the road and they look amazing. And if they're good enough for carl fogerty to endorse then surely good enough for TMF
Fingers crossed you can get on one, 🤞👍
What one of these you mean? ruclips.net/video/_qN3fxmbUgA/видео.html
Does the V2 have a range option in the trip settings Andy? So you can see how far you can go before needing to fill up with fuel? Like most Ducati's the V2 sounds amazing. 👍
Not that I found Graham.....
Sir, on your opinion which is better ( for only road use ) V2 or V4
V2 makes more sense to me, v4 somewhat wasted on the road and offers little more to the road rider other than bragging rights….
VROOOOM!! 🏍😎💕
Bonus Panigale vid...cool. Just can’t wrap my head around the fact, no fuel gauge and vibrating mirrors. It’s 2020 for goodness sake!!! Though it is a proper sport bike for sure. I could never outrun the trouble I’d find, so I’ll pass on a bike that sneaky fast. 👍🏼
Ok so cards on the table I owned a 848 Evo (which I hated) and I now own an S1000RR - my question is given the price and given my last Ducati experience wasn't great (for a number of reasons) I know value for money isn't why you go Italian but... would you recommend it as a better road option than my S1000? They're a similar price but I just feel the BMW gives me more bang for my money and with the shift cam has plenty down low to keep me happy but I'd appreciate your input. Great video too! Love the channel!
Hi Patrick - I've not ridden the absolute latest S1000RR (I'll put that right next year) but I suspect you're right - the BMW would be much easier to live with and ride more, but it doesn't look as nice or feel as exotic to own as a Ducati....I guess you take your choice!
Hi Andy, I’ve really enjoyed this series. It’s been informative and frank, clear and concise- thanks. I wouldn’t be too bothered about the fuel gauge but I take your point. Vibrating mirrors are a real issue and downright dangerous. I wonder who let’s a bike leave the test facilities prior to production with such a glaring error? My now ex Monster 1200R didn’t have that problem. Judging by the trees you had this at a good time of the year and although you didn’t appear too pleased to be letting it go, you still have that lovely 899 in the garage! Anyway, I’ve been waiting to get the Streetfighter but not yet taken the plunge until CoVid dies back a little and the weather improves. That’s the Ducati for me, this “little” racer just wouldn’t fit my ageing frame. All the best for Xmas Andy and thanks for all your reviews and advice throughout the year. Yours aye, Alan
Stay tuned for my Streetfighter videos soon - now that was a bike I really loved....
I absolutely love this bike. How do you go with the seating position? I'm 48 and wondering if I should consider the Supersport. I currently own a 17 z1000sx which is a great bike. If it had a v-twin or CP4 engine I wouldn't sell it. The inline 4 is nice but doesn't sound as good as V twin/CP4.
My hesitation for the SS is 110hp, my bike has 140hp albeit 25kg heavier.
It feels fast enough, have no worries there! Comfort not on a par with your z1000sx though…
@@TheMissendenFlyer Thanks for the reply TMF. Love your channel.
Definitely need Anti theft devices with that Bike 😉
Thx for vídeo. Can you make a vídeo of new yamaha tracer 700?
I will try....
Another good video TMF
Thanks 👍
Hi . Do you think the 950 mutistrada should have the pani engine instead of the de tuned engine iv ridden the multistrada and was very disappointed with the performance so I bought at Yamaha 900 gt instead
No not necessarily - I enjoyed both the Pani and the Multi....
The V2 is the only current sports bike with about 150 hp. Might have to be in my future because its this or a 200hp crazy thousand.
Why can't anyone else make a 150hp sports bike anymore? 200 ponies isn't necessary for the road.
How about the new Aprilia 660??
Blimey, your milking this one.
I thought that as well.
You’re* and yeah he may be but I’m not complaining
@@Seth_Rogen I guess he's low on content, which maybe partly due to the lockdown.
Andy needs to earn money to fuel the planes , trains and automobiles 😁
Apologies M B - I'm a fan of Panigale's!!
Dammmit man. Fix that blurry speedo😃
Yeah, a bike of this price should have a crystal clear speedo! ;)
Low pressure behind the screen, forms it's own dew point above a mile a minute.
eg. 'Dew know what speed you were doing back there sir?' Merry Xmas all : )
@@loddude5706 how come I didn't think of that 😂
Missflyer did you leave your bike at Ducati? How did you get back
Yes I did - I left my bike there whilst I borrowed the new Ducati.....
Inexcusable to not have a fuel guage? Yes. Will it stop me from getting one? No.
Appreciate the vlog on your Duc exxperience.
Yes I feel the same - annoying but certainly not a deal breaker....
My blade hasn't got a fuel gauge! Unforgivable!! Winds me up that they don't fit one! 🤪🤣
I just noticed on your bike list the CRF250L is still there, did you not say you had sold that or am I making that up??
I have sold it - what bike list are you referring too please?
@@TheMissendenFlyer during your vids you say “I’ll put a link below” it’s at the bottom of that lot.
The problem with the Italians, everyone complains about the Heat yet Ducati does absolutely nothing to improve this design. So as the Fuel Gauge! What's wrong with them? Too much Pasta and Wine and 4 hour Lunch Breaks I guess :)
Well you should continue to cry about it and don’t buy one!
I had a 748 Biposto. It had no fuel gauge, but was fitted with a low fuel level warning light. Good enough.
ride4funn omg Frankly, it’s the owners of the bike who cry.
What about the maintenance?????
Same as any other bike pretty much…
@@TheMissendenFlyer so expensive and tons of down time?
I would like one but all the maintenance
I have an 899 and it’s had very little downtime and virtually no maintenance bar regular servicing….
@@TheMissendenFlyer that’s good to hear
I would like to get a Ducati but I’ve heard nightmares in the past I have a Yamaha r1
That gets new tires once a year and an oil change that’s it
@@R1carib Ducati bikes aren’t as bad as they used to be to be fair and there just as reliable as any other bike
HAHH!! There he said it! He said it! "V" 2, Shouldn't that be "L" 2?
Nah, it's just an assembly of prime donor parts for the 'Millyard Ducati W3'. : )
Tmf I’ve always stood by that any bike I ride I always spend an hour setting up the suspension for my weight and style as it’s probably the best mod that can be done
When you pick up a new long term bike do you do the same or do you just jump on and let yourself adjust to the bike and is it something that the dealers set up for you
I just jump on - does that make me a bad person??
Not at all each to there own
@@TheMissendenFlyer it wasn’t a dig just you always seem so confident on a new bike
Bet you didn’t want to give that one back
No I didn't....
I struggle to see the point of bikes like this on the road. You reached the legal limit barely above tickover in third. At seventy you're less than halfway to it's top speed.
Yes I do agree....lovely things but you cant really enjoy them on the public roads....
@@TheMissendenFlyer That’s where track days come into the equation, and they’re worth every cent if you ask me.
So in summary.. you dont like the mirrors...!
That's about it yes.....
Sounds like a sewing machine
Crikey - what model of sewing machine do you do your dress making on??
Nothing like a 888 for proper sound
Problem with no fuel gauge is you only need to get it wrong once and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.....I speak from experience. I now wouldn't entertain any vehicle with no fuel gauge....
sick of it-dream bikes that very very few people will buy, why dont you goin the real world and test blkes that people will buy?
Mainly practical difficulties in getting hold of used bikes to test - but I will keep trying as many ask - stay tuned!
That’s a daft criticism. TMF has reviewed all sorts of bikes from 125s up to goldwings
@@cobenblack1876 yeah 125’s and starter bikes like the trident.
As mentioned.. he reviews Maxiscooters, small displacement bikes all the way to Gold Wings..
when did he test these bike in resent history?
