This implies that the gates Jin-Woo was raiding might have been higher than the C-rank they were given. 3) Kim Chul's reason for splitting up was to defeat the boss as fast as possible - hopefully before too many of the low-level hunters were killed. 4) Baek Yoonho mentions that the team had a mana-compass that would point them towards the strongest monster in the dungeon (usually so that strike-teams didn't blunder into the boss lair), but in this case it pointed Chul's team to a Yeti, which they defeated, but the actual dungeon boss (the leader of the Ice Slayers) had been using a stealth skill to hide his mana. Exhausted from the fight, Chul's team didn't stand a chance against the Ice Slayer ambush. THANKS

The ending is very much symbolic but perhaps not in the way most people would think. Can't say anything else but if the entire manhwa gets adapted then the ending will make sense.
I don't know, I never read the webtoon but I get the feeling its symbolism is not so hard to decipher. I might be wrong, but it seems pretty obvious to me that something is progressively possessing the protagonist. I would bet that the reason why he's forcefully being trained to become stronger is for the statue's God (that we saw in the first episode) to have a human vessel to reincarnate into. Yes the ending is very related to the lord around volume 5 and 6 of the LN. That is all I'm saying. Hope the anime get all the seasons all the way to volume 8. Past the ants stuff but much further. Specialy the lord that explains everything. My guess they can do it all in 4 seasons or 3 maybe?

Kim was taking the strongest members to go after the boss. It's not really expressed well. The C and E ranks would have been completely useless in the red gate(obviously he didn't realize Jinwoo isn't what he seems, even after the arrow catch part, though a lot of that is down to lack of experience on his part too). He was trying to beat the dungeon as fast as possible. All of them were inexperienced though, which is why they were suppose to be going to a C rank dungeon to learn.

It was mentioned that a red gate is basically b rank OR HIGHER. Which should clue people in, that E and C ranks would be completely worthless. They'd last .005 seconds each. He did say just try and hide and survive while his group went after the boss. It was the smartest move, that redgate though very obviously was high A rank unfortunately for the entire party(fortunately Jinwoo is there but even he is still pushed heavily in it).
Its a good point but lets be real. He was over his head thinking he and a few Branks can clear the red gate. A rank gates needs atleast multiple Aranks and an Srank to clear. B gates need a few Aranks and multiple Branks C gates need B ranks and multiple Cranks. This gate was atleast High B. It was doable if there were atleast 5 Aranks. The only thing he has is for a C rank. Its already pushing it since he is just a tank. The better choice in this scenario was to wait the gate out. Survive this and wait till the gate breaks out. The elves werent actively hunting them, they just provoked it going to their territory
I can see that as a motivation over simply "cutting dead weight", which is how I took it. However, that reason shows his inexperience, and still makes this a bad choice. In an unknown area, with no rally point, the first thing to do, especially in bad weather, is find a defendable position, plan your scouting for the boss, setup temporary shelter before dark. It really depends on which elves a media is drawing references from. It could be Tolkien elves which are essentially Fae folk or it could be traditional folklore elves which the Keebler and Harry Potter elves are based upon. You know, the kind that are basically magical hobbits or less vicious goblins that likes to play pranks and such.
The ending theme's singer is TK, a member of a Japanese Rock band named Ling Tosite Sigure. He got an angellic voice but he's also insanely skilled at shredding the guitar. He's also composed the first Tokyo Ghoul anime's opening "Unravel", and even to this day it is often considered as the most iconic anime opening of all time (the only anime opening more iconic than it in terms of numbers and fame would be Bakemonogatari's 4th opening "Renai Circulation"), despite the Tokyo Ghoul anime being a messy adaptation of the manga. I would recommend you to listen to it or to his band if you're into Math Rock. The Tokyo Ghoul anime may be disappointing, but its artistic direction was really on point, they managed to capture the dark urban tone of the story well, and the musicians who usually composed for their opening and ending themes were all skilled experimental artists. Cö shu nie are also a very skilled band with Math Rock rythmic sections even tho I didn't enjoy the Electro-Pop direction they took on their last record.

They said in the first season that S ranks are above the law. If one just wanted to burn everything down the best they could do is try and minimize the damage as much as possible and hope another S rank stops them. Likely (not 100% sure) most major places like S Korea have somebody that is S rank to keep the others in check/stop them from going too far. Unfortunately, in Korea the guy who is in that position is old and no longer in his prime. I doubt he would act unless absolutely needed. (Head of the Hunter's Association I think it is called, the old guy who pops up to exposition drop a lot in season 1) Low ranks wouldn't be able to hunt food when the beast is a B rank. You'd need to be an A rank to fight a B rank enemy with ease. (which I guess helps us clue in to how strong Jinwoo is at this point) The amount of contribution low ranks would bring is negligible and not worth the resource loss in his eyes. They had 0 preparation for a red gate since normal gates you can leave and enter whenever you want. I've always been suspicious of this gate turning red conveniently when Jinwoo was being hunted by an S rank that is right around the corner. As if something is delaying their confrontation.

Which is why they get paid the big bucks its one way to appease them from doing anything extreme. If you remember season 1 Hwang Dongsoo actually asked if he could get away with murdering Sung Jinwoo and they basically said at worst he'd just be sent back to the U.S to stand trial since that's where his current guild and residence is and get a fairly light sentence at worst.
If an S class hunter decides to go scorched earth wherever they start rampaging is shit out of luck basically, becuz other hunters would be the only ones who can take them down and since it would have to be a fight to the death, things are gonna get wrecked no matter what. 3:30 I agree 1000% aside from SJW's VA he is the best, 3:57 he doesn't really have much dialogue but you can hear his voice line in game, and you will understand why his voice actor is best for him, 6:45 the teacher asked him how he would react if his sister were to awaken, he said no, and since SJW is a hunter too he can make her understand that studying is important and hunter line is dangerous, 8:55 the only thing the normal people and hunters below S rank can only watch them as do whatever they want, even the military would be help less against an S rank hunter, and about S rank fighting each other I can't tell you that yet because of spoiler, but in this season we'll get to see somewhat of a fight between 2 S ranks, 18:06 well that's why he is inexperienced 😅 although everything is perfect, but manhwa readers are a Little shocked for how fast the pacing is, like it's almost 10 chapters alone this episode, and some dialogues are missing but those would be considered extra/filler dialogues, glad you guys enjoyed the reaction, looking forward to more 😊

@ the average time to read one chapter of SL is around 2-3 minutes, that’s how much long it takes to fully understand 1 whole chapter but as I said they did cut some dialogues to make that happen

Random Info Dump for the uninitiated. As a general rule because the anime does a horrible job of explaining it. Normal dungeons lead to small pockets of an Area. Like a cave system or literally a dungeon or an old castle or just a room (example Carthenon Temple in the first episode) etc. Red gates or when a dungeon BECOMES a red gate leads to a more complete world (There is a lot more to this, but if I say any more we go into omega spoiler territory). Mobs are ranked much higher, in this case a C rank dungeon became a red gate and the mobs in there got pushed to b and A rank. You cannot leave Red Gates until the boss is dead or everyone who enters dies or a dungeon break occurs. Time also scales differently inside, and you can't precisely measure the level of monsters inside it because the gate itself blocks much of the energy coming out of it. So far, based on observations, most red gates have appeared to be of rank B or above. You can measure the level of monsters inside by measuring the energy coming out of the gate, which is how the association classifies each gate Dungeons in the same ranks can be different in that the mana coming out of it is distributed differently. Example: One B rank dungeon can have One B rank mob and hundreds of C and D rank monsters, another B rank dungeon can have 4 or 5 B rank Monsters but maybe 40 C rank monsters. Even tho both of these dungeons would be classed B rank, The difficulty between them would be VASTLY different (the latter being way harder). To defeat say for example a rank B Dungeon, you need a higher level of hunters (A or S in this case) or a large number of same level hunters (8 to 10 B rank hunters). Because you don't want a perfect match, you want the hunters to be more powerful than the dungeons to avoid casualties. To defeat an A rank dungeons, you need multiple A rank hunters or a few S rank hunters. To defeat an S rank gate you need a large number of S rank hunters which was what happened in The failed Jeju Island raid 3 years ago as seen in s1 ep1. That was the 3rd attempt (a lot of people died there). The dungeon break happened there and the ants took over the island. When shadow soldiers die or get damaged, they can be immediately respawned or regenerate if Sung Jinwoo has enough MP left. If not enough MP is left, then they just get stored in Jinwoo's shadow (which is basically a pocket dimension) and once Jinwoo replenishes his Mana points by potions or naturally over time, they are ready to be summoned on the battlefield again. Also, the number of shadows he can store is directly tied to his intelligence stat, it doesn't really increases his IQ. And the number of Mana points (MP) used per shadow depends upon the power level of that shadow.

Hunters are a finite resource especially A and S rank hunters. Losing hunters decreases a nations military power. Losing enough high level hunters can make you a nobody country. Only hunters can kill dungeon monster. This is why criminal hunters are not just killed. They are still used to clear the gates like that episode from last season. S rank hunters being the most powerful an rarest resources, they are given alot of freedoms. They would have to commit mass genocide or fight a nation to be punished by the law.Even then they wouldn't killed, they would be let out to clear gates to shorten there sentences. The brother coming to kill an E rank like Jun woo is not something the Hunters Association will do anything about. If Jin Woo was known to be an A rank then they would invest resources to keep him alive. Most of the hunters around the whole world are made up of E rank. As you go up in Rank the numbers become smaller than last rank. A rank is considered rare and S ranks ultra rare. Being an S rank is like winning the Lottery, You pretty much are a human Kaiju, a natural disaster. Money and Fame will fall like rain on you.

However, with no guarantee of finding the boss, let alone defeating it, in a timely manner, I would have prioritized finding a defendable position to set-up shelter and plan the search. Collecting resources would be done in groups of 2-3 with the low ranks paired with higher for protection. Again, because many hands make light work, and in inclement weather, that's a big helper.

If an S class hunter decides to go scorched earth wherever they start rampaging is shit out of luck basically, becuz other hunters would be the only ones who can take them down and since it would have to be a fight to the death, things are gonna get wrecked no matter what. Sending in anyone else but hunters is only adding frivolous numbers to casualties
Solo Leveling is reasonable compared to those other manhwas were high ranking hunters do kill not only other hunters but also civilians.

@ the average time to read one chapter of SL is around 2-3 minutes, that’s how much long it takes to fully understand 1 whole chapter but as I said they did cut some dialogues to make that happen

As a general rule because the anime does a horrible job of explaining it.
Normal dungeons lead to small pockets of an Area. Like a cave system or literally a dungeon or an old castle or just a room (example Carthenon Temple in the first episode) etc.
Red gates or when a dungeon BECOMES a red gate leads to a more complete world (There is a lot more to this, but if I say any more we go into omega spoiler territory). Mobs are ranked much higher, in this case a C rank dungeon became a red gate and the mobs in there got pushed to b and A rank. You cannot leave Red Gates until the boss is dead or everyone who enters dies or a dungeon break occurs. Time also scales differently inside, and you can't precisely measure the level of monsters inside it because the gate itself blocks much of the energy coming out of it. So far, based on observations, most red gates have appeared to be of rank B or above.
You can measure the level of monsters inside by measuring the energy coming out of the gate, which is how the association classifies each gate
Dungeons in the same ranks can be different in that the mana coming out of it is distributed differently.
Example: One B rank dungeon can have One B rank mob and hundreds of C and D rank monsters, another B rank dungeon can have 4 or 5 B rank Monsters but maybe 40 C rank monsters. Even tho both of these dungeons would be classed B rank, The difficulty between them would be VASTLY different (the latter being way harder).
To defeat say for example a rank B Dungeon, you need a higher level of hunters (A or S in this case) or a large number of same level hunters (8 to 10 B rank hunters). Because you don't want a perfect match, you want the hunters to be more powerful than the dungeons to avoid casualties. To defeat an A rank dungeons, you need multiple A rank hunters or a few S rank hunters. To defeat an S rank gate you need a large number of S rank hunters which was what happened in The failed Jeju Island raid 3 years ago as seen in s1 ep1. That was the 3rd attempt (a lot of people died there). The dungeon break happened there and the ants took over the island.
When shadow soldiers die or get damaged, they can be immediately respawned or regenerate if Sung Jinwoo has enough MP left.
If not enough MP is left, then they just get stored in Jinwoo's shadow (which is basically a pocket dimension) and once Jinwoo replenishes his Mana points by potions or naturally over time, they are ready to be summoned on the battlefield again.
Also, the number of shadows he can store is directly tied to his intelligence stat, it doesn't really increases his IQ.
And the number of Mana points (MP) used per shadow depends upon the power level of that shadow.

Hunters are a finite resource especially A and S rank hunters. Losing hunters decreases a nations military power. Losing enough high level hunters can make you a nobody country. Only hunters can kill dungeon monster. This is why criminal hunters are not just killed. They are still used to clear the gates like that episode from last season. S rank hunters being the most powerful an rarest resources, they are given alot of freedoms. They would have to commit mass genocide or fight a nation to be punished by the law.Even then they wouldn't killed, they would be let out to clear gates to shorten there sentences. The brother coming to kill an E rank like Jun woo is not something the Hunters Association will do anything about. If Jin Woo was known to be an A rank then they would invest resources to keep him alive. Most of the hunters around the whole world are made up of E rank. As you go up in Rank the numbers become smaller than last rank. A rank is considered rare and S ranks ultra rare. Being an S rank is like winning the Lottery, You pretty much are a human Kaiju, a natural disaster. Money and Fame will fall like rain on you.
I recommend ishura game of thrones of anime...what i mean is there's no real mc but everyone is you'd be surprised by how ridiculous the power system and how well written the characters there's s2 already highly recommend.❤

Some are saying he's splitting to defeat the boss faster, which I can see over simply "cutting dead weight" which is how I saw it at first.
However, with no guarantee of finding the boss, let alone defeating it, in a timely manner, I would have prioritized finding a defendable position to set-up shelter and plan the search.
Collecting resources would be done in groups of 2-3 with the low ranks paired with higher for protection. Again, because many hands make light work, and in inclement weather, that's a big helper.
