- When I bought this bus two years ago I had no idea what I was getting into, I honestly thought the body would just need a few repairs and I'd be able to keep it on the road the whole time. Blissful ignorance really. But that's OK because I'm learning so much along the way and so grateful for this experience that I've dreamed of since I was young. Thanks for following along this journey with me. -Brandon

Very nice work. Should make longer videos. Thanks!
Props for spraying POR 15; it can get everywhere. I chickened and used the brush on my 55 frame as I wasn't worried about "show quality" - just protection.
can't wait to see finished walk through
Brandon keep the videos coming. I like seeing skilled craftsman like you rebuild, and restore projects the right way. The metal fabrication is great to see 👀. I can't wait until you are finished, and the final results.
Thanks for the comment Teddy! I'll try to put out a weekly video until its finished, thanks for following along. :)
Never underestimate the Brandon. This bus is just challenging my belief in your capabilities and providing entertainment along the way!
Looking good man! Love the edits! =) 😎😎😎
It is fantastic to see a professional working and repairing a piece of history.
You sir are a BUS restoration artist !
Making me feel like I should have saved my inner valence instead of spending $400 on it... Another great video! Looking forward to more long form content from you.
The inner nose structure was particularly tough, I didn't film most of it but there may have been times I wished I had spent the $400. But with enough time welding, grinding, hammering it came out aight. :)
The dude took a VW Bus, used it as a temple, and built another VW Bus. Good work boss.
Pretty much! Its my ship of theseus.
Thanks for the video. I have trouble keeping up with what you're doing, but it's worth the effort.
It will all makes sense when the bus is put back together and looking nice!
Awesome work. I have been following you doing this rebuild. Very fascinating
I really appreciate you following along, it's why I keep making these videos!
@@BrandonsBus it is infact very educational. I am glad a lot of those parts are still
Available. I have always wanted a VW bug or bus. Maybe one day
Congratulations on the project. you have a Volkswagen bus manufactured in Brazil in 1974 or 1975, I can recognize it by the color, alabaster beige. It has the emblem stamped on the front, this was manufactured in 73, 74 and 75. but the beige color only in 74 and 75. the only difference from 74 and 75 is the fuel tank door that in 75 came without the lock. I really like this model because the metal used in the body is more malleable and does not fatigue causing cracks. it is also easier to work on a restoration. In Brazil there were some variations in the use of raw materials when VWs were built. It is possible to put an emblem over the one that is stamped on the front, but they are a little wider than the 60 and 61 for example. here in Brazil you can find them from 1967 onwards, they fit perfectly. If you need help with a part in Brazil, I can try to do it for you.
The title says 74! You really know your VW stuff. Thanks for the tip about the emblem, Ill be needing one after I get the nose panel in place.
Wow you are so good at fabricating.
Im definitely still a beginner but Im learning new tricks every day, thanks for the comment!
Thank you for nice footage.
Dude, you should post more content of this restoration on YT. I'd watch for sure.
Working on it! Thanks for watching 😊
What a clever skilled dude. Amazing😮👍
Brother you make it look too easy lol. Cant wait to see the finished project 😁👍
What a pleasure to watch, instantly subscribed. Keep m comin
Nice! Thanks for the follow, I try to put a video out weekly, depends on how much I get done on the weekends. :)

Thank you! I’m going to try and get one video out every weekend.
Congrats man!!! Awesome care to protection bus parts!!! 💯💯💯
Rust wont win this one!
I feel your pain man, had to do a very similar job on out 67 bus a few years ago, great work by the way.
Thanks! It would have been easier just to buy all the front end parts but Im honestly wanting to learn more so I take on the challenge of trying to fabricate it. These Vws sure do come with a lot of rust.
I used to do restorations for a job. Your doing a great job.
That means a lot, thank you. Im new at this, not really sure if Im doing it the right way but doing my best!
Subscribed! Love the bus, great work so far. Hope you upload often!
Thank you for following the bus project! I do my best to upload weekly, depends on how much time I can squeeze out of my weekends :)
Good job 👏
Quel beau métier! Bravo.
very nice work!
It turned out pretty good so far!
Excelente trabalho amigo. Sucesso aí no projeto.
¡Muchas gracias!
beuatiful video and thank you
So, I am guessing this VW was not from Arizona.
I could see myself getting into the chopping and not knowing when to stop and ending up with a pile of carnage.
Nice to watch a person that knows what he is doing.
I am guilty of rust digging with a pile of carnage as well, there can seem like no end on some cars. This one came from a beach town in Brazil :)
Привет из Новосибирска ! Я смотрю ты прям очень упертый парень, не бросаешь этот автобус !
You are very patient! Well done on the work and the film technique 👍👍👍
Thanks! It does take some patience to do it right, but its so satisfying in the end.
Amazing
Trabalho de qualidade muito bom parabéns
ITs a Brazilian bus. Keep the videos coming. They must take hours to edit that way but it sure looks cool.
Thanks for the comment Mike! You were a big inspiration to get started in all this years ago when I watched your westy series. This channel is ultimately the result of that inspiration.
@@BrandonsBus thanks so much your videos are really excellent.
Your Fabrication skills are second to none. In all the videos I have seen I have never watched you work on a motor or do things like rebuild a carberateur bleed brakes turn rotors or drums. Or is that all done off camera?
nice!
No Comment’s - Great 👍🏼 Job …..

if you think that bus is bad.wait until u fix a real bad one , ha ha love your vids, peace out
❤❤❤❤
I dream of the day that manufacturers start recreating old models with modern internals. @brandon do you ever have those WTF did i take on moments? 😂
Брат и еще хочу дать один совет используй кислотный грунт а потом акриловый и тогда гнить он больше не будет и все скрытые полости обработай пушечным маслом , у нас такое в России есть
Thanks for the advice!
Hi love your work getting lots of tips and learning from you im restoring my old Honda civic struggling to get rid of rust as everytime i grind it down to bear metal and coat with primer and paint a year later the rust is back as the paint dont hold up to weather..tried many different paints primers alway cleaning and preparing meticulously but never lasts! I bought expensive POR even that came off in weather..please can you advise me on a good paint and primer that will last long?many thanks im so sad seeing my beautiful car rust away 😢
hello Tony, thanks for the comment. No matter what paint or primer goes overtop of rust, the metal has to be chemically converted first, sometimes multiple times until all the rust is removed and only pitting is left. I use ospho which is phosphoric acid that converts iron oxide into iron phosphate. No matter if its epoxy primer, POR or rattle can- the rusty metal needs many hours of prep to hold up to weather. Im not an expert by any means but this is what I have learned so far.
👍👏👏👏
I wonder how this car will turn out.✨
keep watching and you will find out! I hope it turns out ok :/
suuuuuuper
👍👍👍✊👏
Good work man!
Think I’m going to watch you instead of MicBergsma
Great vids & built, the text sometimes too fast 😅👍🏼 - subscribed !!!
Thanks for following along! Ill leave the text up longer on the next ones :)
@@BrandonsBus 😅👍🏼thanks
I see that you have posted a large number of clips but only 2 longer videos. Am I correct? Would love to see it from the start.
All my other clips can be found in my YT Shorts section, they were all shot vertical before I started my channel.
@Brandon’s Bus better a short clip. than nothing! Keep up the good work!
How long have you been doing this kind of work?
why did you spend 4 hours sanding Por 15 off a piece you can never see again ? lol
Really nice work though, I just finished a 15 window brazilian split window but and probably had more panel replacement and rust repair than even you. Big job but really happy with the outcome . Love your vids!
Hi 👋🏻 buddy. It’s amazing how how much rust doesn’t faze you 😮 Why do you Yanks love old European vehicles especially VWs 🤔🏴😊
Ive loved VWs since I was a kid! Owned many of them over the years, love the culture and people that it brings together. Dont love the rust it comes with though :/
There's hardly any metal left on that thing.
No Classic Fab components?

Excuse me, Sir. Your annotations is too fast.
sure was, fixed that on all future videos :)
Thank you Sir
you are overworking the insides too much. who would repaint the inside of the panels due to a semi poor finish.
Oh damn. Wait until you watch the rest of my videos 😂 I like “overworking” everything
