Wapcar's recommendation is surprisingly balance on Persona 2022, it is more like a "well behave" family sedan. It is quite interactive for an entry level feature on infotainment. The bootspace is spacious yet could be extended more. I am sure both of them will be satisfied with Persona 2022. Good choice. For those who is driving more 'aggressively' might be disagreed, they should be looking for a more sportier car and not this affordable family sedan sub RM60k.
Practical car: Large boot, decent space, many usb ports Value for money Premium Interior Only lack exterior design compare to other non-national b segment car, but you can save 20-30K compare to city, vios or almera. Indeed a good choice for young couples(maybe 23-25) and for your first car. If you want to save 2-3 hundreds monthly for other stuff pick this, if that amount is nothing to you go pick city, vios or almera. remember other stuff you have to pay as well, fuels, service, road tax, insurance.
For city/daily drive i still prefer myvi or bezza due to very good fuel consumption but for "balik kampung" or weekend holiday trip proton persona maybe my choice especially persona have 510L boot space !! (2nd biggest boot space b segment sedan) & RM20k cheaper than other competitors
Still waiting for our national heroes Proton and Perodua to include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in their cars. It really helps in enabling users to use the screen rather than using the phone while driving.
Theres a screen mirroring app on the head unit that allows u to display your phone on it, so technically u can use android auto on you phone and cast it to your head unit.

Thanks Adrian. But now we wanna know what you personally think about this Persona, especially the tuning Proton has claimed to have done on the dreaded Punch CVT. Has it significantly improved or is it just a minor improvement?
Many people want to jaga face then they will avoid persona and go with either vios or city. Even my sister in law surprise with persona when she drove it. She drove previous vios which our new car is just one month of ownership(in 2018). Nothing to shout if you buy toyota/honda compared to proton. As of 3 years of owning persona vvt, only once check engine light comes on (after go through flood), and solve by sc without need to replace anything. For me, 3 years without issues is enough to judging a car because as a family man, i need bigger car soon
@WapCar Can the infotainment system in the premium version be swapped for one with an aftermarket carplay/android auto device? Of course, "hi proton" may not be there anymore.....
It's a shame that this is the best Proton could come up with given all those years of experience. At one point Proton was a class above Hyundais and Kias, now they have this oddly tall Persona, which looks worse than its predecessor and the Saga, which is still based on the 16 year-old Savvy platform. It's not that Malaysians don't want to buy local cars, but the choices we actually have at entry level is abysmal. "Cheap cars" in Korea would be the new Hyundai Casper Crossover at below RM50k. That car looks out of this world in comparison to this.
Haha unfortunately it's not a fair comparison for Proton. Hyundai Motor sold 361,711 cars in September 2021 alone while Proton sold 109,716 cars in the whole of 2020. Proton just does not have the economies of scale to develop cutting edge products like Hyundai. As for why they couldn't expand like Hyundai after 35 years, that's a story for another day...
@@WapCar Well, it boils down to the latter, doesn't it? The unfair tax structure forced most Malaysians to settle for Proton, ensuring constant cash flow while they slept on the job for years just milking it till they couldn't anymore. Unfair comparison to Hyundai, yes. Whether Proton could have done better as a company, hell yes. Let's not sugar coat this.
@@lukeashwin3195 what do you mean unfair tax? So we have non national car to be sold below/on par with national car? If that so, then if you buy something let say your father or mother a birthday gift, will you buy the same exact gift for your uncles? Or your neighbour maybe? We need to support local products more than the rest
@@FATEH2708 If you were given a choice, then you can support which ever. Let's say this Persona costs RM80k equivalent to a Toyota Vios. Support would mean you choose the Persona regardless of the price. That would mean you still had the choice. Most Malaysians just don't have the choice because of the unfair tax structure. I'm sure most people would choose a Vios.
@@lukeashwin3195 For me, I'm still proud with what Proton has achieved so far, not perfect ofc but they're showing sign of improvements ever since under Geely and the potential for them to grow is bright. I don't want to put high hope for Proton to break the international players or something, as long as they deliver good products for us Malaysian and remember their roots, that's good enough for me and I'm perfectly happy with that. Yes need to aim high but Proton slowly improving over time, can't argue with that. My 2 cents 😊 You see Korea dulu and Korea sekarang lain bro. Despite being tiny half of a peninsular and the lack of earth resources (practically none), South Korean conquer in so many sectors nowadays thanks to their ever increasing quality of life and ofc increasing amount of talent pool, so I'm not even surprised to see how Hyundai progress leap and bound like now. No need to look down on Proton only bro, Hyundai-Kia even exceeded the traditional Japanese brands that many Malaysian here very much adored, out of water in quite many aspects lately. At one time, Hyundai is the third biggest automaker, just behind VW and Toyota (3rd!). They're just way league ahead internationally. Pity that we Malaysian haven't quite felt the Hyundai great revolution no thx to crude local distributor management ...
Why proton remove the rear adjustable headrests in the iriz n put that ugly non adjustable ones in the persona still upsets me.. 1 of the things that got in the way of me buying the persona as my 2nd car last time..
booked x50 but the wait is never ending . Considering to just buy persona bcs low installment more power purchase every month. (Dont want vios or city bcs with that price better i take x50 ). So Should i wait for x50 or just take persona?
I would also recommend B-segment sedans because the driving experience would be much better. Plus the higher you go in segment, usually the better the safety features present in the car. I think ride comfort, safety, space & cost are the major components that you would look for and the Persona is better than the Saga in that regard. Plus, when you consider that the other B-segment cars are priced way above the premium version of the Persona, it makes it an even sweeter deal imo.
lol what kind of drama is tis? like which country the couple came from 🤣🤣🤣 the only thing people in malaysia avoid buying proton or perodua is only because its "national brand status" regardless of its quality and capabilities clearly, which people tend to choose imported B segment for starting family car IF they can afford anyways....adrian already mention at the beginning of the vid not much option for the price range....what else... the drama is not necessary tbh
They're just trying to bring a new segment into the show. You may find this `drama` unnecessary but if it gains big traction and people actually enjoy it, this kind of vid will continue. If it doesnt work, they can simply stop. Other local youtuber have started following this trend too. Kudos to the WC team for constantly trying new things.

depends on what u want. If you have a small family, 1 kid, X50 is fine. But if 2 kids, then the boot space in X50 just wont cut it.
get Persona; much more practical in long run.
1st.. buy car based on what u want.. what u like.. 2nd is are u willing to buy that much.. or are u afford ? If yes... then go for it
why not recommend the Proton Saga for the entry level sedan for family instead?
Their requirement is a big boot size, so the Persona fits this requirement better than the Saga.
Maybe the saga is too basic more like for student or fresh grad.
