This is a time lapse compilation documenting scenes and events taken throughout the year in the beautiful City of Chicago at various parts of the day from sunrises to sunsets, night and streetscapes, aerial and hyperlapse photography. I have been to a lot of city around the world. There is something soooo magical and beautiful about this city that I keep coming back to. In my opinion this is the most beautiful city and I might just move here one day.

It sure wasn't cold this year. Winter was only 2 months long. And it's going to keep warming up every year

Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. IMO, and also of many that I have spoken to, it is the friendliest city in the U.S. Internationally, at least of the places that I've been fortunate enough to visit, it is 2nd only to Toronto in terms of friendly people. The food options are plentiful & delicious, the public transportation is easy to use & for my many visits/purposes, has proven safe & reliable. The nightlife has been quite fun and the house music is legendary. There is plenty to do both day & night for locals & tourists of all ages. Sports or musicals, whichever floats your boat, you will not be bored. Anyone can find something to do any day of the week. The architecture is gorgeous and I highly recommend taking the Architectural Boat Tour. It is a great way to relax, see the city, socialize and learn some of the cities great history all at the same time. I have taken this tour 3 of my many trips to Chicago and never get bored and always learn something new. The tour guides that I have had are always hilarious and entertaining. The skyline is simply stunning day and night and is gorgeous at any time of the year. If you go in the winter, dress warm if you like to people watch or plan on stopping to take a lot of videos/photos. The city is walkable as is the zoo and the various museums. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the shopping. I'm not always a shopper but the city puts me in that mood every time. Take the long Thanksgiving weekend to visit and hit the stores. Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, you may find yourself singing a little Jingle Bell Rock on your way to the airport after a shopping therapy in Chicago. This is always done best sans anyone that you isn't in the same frame of mind because it is an all day, adult activity. If you are not great at reading between the lines, it means no kids. Adult kids? Heck yes. Under 16, nope. Don't do it to yourself. Think differently? Remember my advice when you begin threatening to leave your kids at a bus stop on Michigan Avenue while you walk off into the sunset with several shopping bags in hand. I have witnessed the parental breakdown so many times & if it isn't Michigan Avenue its Rodeo Drive, 5th Avenue or Union Square. This rule applies everywhere and all year long. The location of Chicago is ideal and pretty central from every other major U.S. City. I realize that I sound like a travel brochure but when I love a location, I love it. Chicago is superb in every way. Some will disagree and thats what makes the world so wonderful. Everyone can have a different flavor or preference and some of us are correct. LOL.
But seriously, if you haven't visited, do yourself a favor and plan a trip.

@@LapseLifeProductions I've been & lived in many, and no city is as complete as Chicago. Chicago is literally the definition of urban life, even more so than NYC. Makes sense because Chicago is the progenitor of the modern city.

Chicago is not more urban than NYC. NYC has too many skyscrapers so you can’t catch its skyline in it’s entirely. Chicago is too small to compare to NYC
@@mbaham85 Chicago's skyline is far more selective and well thought out. It is very difficult to get a new building project approved and often go through many iterations in design and approval stages before getting the ho ahead to build. This is why only ONE building in the whole city was poorly placed due to a lack of oversight but everything else is very carefully curated. This is why Chicago's skyline is famous globally and instantly recognizable. NYCs... Not so much. Like yes, you can make sense of what your looking at but from afar NYCs skyline just looks like a giant cramped bundle of skyscrapers. Also, Chicago has the oldest skyline and the modern design philosophy of supertall structural buildings was developed here in Chicago and subsequently perfected before spreading around the world. We are definitely a quality over quantity city. We are just fine with our (relatively) smaller city core and 1/3 the population of NYC. More people = more problems and we are already far too dense in population per square kilometer.

Chicago's downtown area is beautiful and they have a nice skyline overlooking the water. I live in Dallas and I wish we had a couple of more skyscrapers.
Chicago being on Lake Michigan and having a river in the middle of downtown area incredible features. It has been awhile since I've been through Dallas but when I was there several years ago I thought the same.
I just visited my cousins in DFW. Y'all need more sidewalk. Nice city but it definitely is lacking in the walkability category. Also the public transit is weak, but honestly aside form those things it's a really, really, really nice city (definitely better than the confusing jumbled up mess that is Houston by far). I am a Chicago growed up kid and I'll never leave here though 😂 love it too much.

Thank you Rick! I know that 3 seconds is my general go to with cityscapes but there are a lot of clips so some could be a bit more and some a bit less.

I have yet to travel to China but have heard great things about their architecture and cities! I hope I'm able to travel there someday!!!
China's cities are definitely more futuristic, but not nearly as beautiful as Chicago. Plus, we are free to go wherever we want in our city. We are free to call our mayor an idiot if we so choose. Do that in China and you will be killed
