You know what I love about this? It shows a city doing the right damn thing by its citizens. You can view this as depressing, though I don't think that's the intent. It's a city doing what it needs to do together to keep our communities safe. Do your part and flatten that curve!
No one ever thought that Chicago would ever be close to what it looks like now and in this video. Stay safe and healthy everyone. Well well done on this video. Very heart touching.
@@hssp1534 small town in Tennessee. People still eating out in resturants. They just closed Shoneys last week. The small communities are still in denial.
I really love this video, showing Chicago do the right thing, as many other states and cities are reported that they aren't listening to the stay at home orders. I am proud of my fellow Chicagoan's that are taking the warning seriously as we care about each other enough to listen and stay home to save each other. Well done Chicago. God bless everyone.
dg 4787 lol. What are you talking about? San Francisco was the first city in America to place a shelter in place order almost 2 weeks ago now. The rest of the nation followed.
This is the first footage where it doesn't look like an average (early) Sunday morning. These montages indicate a good thing (people are staying at home) and at the same time, it is quite impressive.
This inspired me to create something like this but on my campus at Illinois State. I’m not as good as you but it’s my first work. Thank you for the inspiration 😔
I've seen a few of these - this ones is hands down the best. If there are any video competitions that have a category for videos documenting the COVID shutdown you HAVE TO enter this.
Chicago! A mega city and somehow forever - my city! Colorful, huge, powerful and cold! Most beautiful when it rains and thunders, because then it is a real Gotham City! Chicago is never, never this empty! Seeing Chicago like this is icing my blood, because I see and I know that this quiet is at the same time a THUNDEROUS message of Nature, God, The Universe! A message that stopped the one who thought of being unstoppable! A message that tells us to STOP! To stop with our greed and greedy systems that turn people into slaves, with going over dead bodies to climb to the highest possible level of the materialistic pyramid, with the insane pollution of Nature, because only one thing has become our goal - PROFIT! We thought we were stronger than anything, even Nature, God, The Universe! We forgot about Mother Nature, and then she showed us her power with this quiet, but at the same time - THUNDEROUS message! #Covid19 is a huge tragedy for humanity, but also a huge lesson from Nature, God, The Universe - whatever name that "something" we call. The planet is healing! Of course this will pass, but that "something" above all of us will tell when! And I hope that as a humanity we will learn a lot from this, because I am sure that if we as a humanity do not change our behavior and attitude towards Nature and Life after this - Nature will again choose a way to send us a quiet, but at the same time - THUNDEROUS message! #stayhome
Too bad it couldn't stay like that. I was really enjoying the emptiness of Chicago. I had the roads and city to myself, something that I thought I would never have. Also I was very glad that Illinois was doing their part to flatten the curve. Now, no one cares and is driving around like the pandemic never even happened. At least half of us wear masks.
@@stephenmogensen4073 They did. Express ways and Michigan Ave. totally empty...that is unusual! The moral of the story is that both ballparks would have been filled with 40,000 people in two weeks.
Subhalakshmi Kumar no they should learn from Californians as San Francisco followed by the state, was the first to implement such lockdowns, shelter in place orders.
I dont believe home will ever look this empty again until humanity seizes to exist... Never in my lifetime would I ever imagine I would see my city dormant, but the way it was captured it's artistically beautiful... 2ND CITY TO NONE!!! 🤟🏼👑 Just sayin... #FUCKDORTHY #AINTNOPLACELIKEHOME!!!! #BIGFACTS
Thank you for artistically documenting this moment in time.
The day that time stopped. This is an incredible creation. Thank you for documenting this.
I can’t imagine Chicago without it’s rare people filling the streets. I promise I’ll never complain about rush hour again☹️
protect yourself
Same with San Francisco. Rush hour is even worse there. I really miss it to some weird extent.

Zombie movies are going to have enough stock footage for years to come.

Very well done. It’s hard to believe it’s not staged but real life.

Thank you Chicago for doing the right thing. Untold numbers will live because unlike my city you are doing the right thing.
which city you from..?

Chilling. Reminds me of the opening of 28 Days Later
Yes thought the same thing!
Beautiful but I cried. God Bless 💜
What a beautiful city, my hometown.
Beautiful. Can you please do a follow up piece when this is all over so we can see them back-to-back? That would be uplifting!
I think that is a great idea. One year later!
how are you?
I really miss 2020
So sad but so beautiful. Thank you for this
That music should be the new soundtrack for Plague Inc.
Beautifully filmed! Every shot was more shockingly stark than the last. Great job.
OUTSTANDING!!! Thank you for making and sharing..
Amazing Troy! You captured a pivotal moment and feeling in US history.
It's going to be a pivotal moment in all our histories

Depressing, but beautifully done. Stay safe everyone. #flattenthecurve
Totally agree.
This is crazy. Thanks for capturing this- I hope this is the rare and only time this ever happens in our lifetimes.

It reminded me of Silent Hill but in a city...
I hope to come and visit Chicago soon! Great video!
Come in summer. It's still 7 C here . It will be great in summer.

Very good video!
Looks like everyone is out of town
great shots out there... Beautiful production... Have you seen my one???
Made a video about my home town Haifa, all the streets are completely empty, really sad.
Good now we can finally go to the city without all of that insane traffic!
feel like watching a movie scene..waiting what will happen in the next scene
Anybody else think of I Am Legend?
So, the ballparks were gonna be closed anyways..
haha that's exactly what I was thinking, show me stuff that's actually unusual to see empty!

Very nice, but some of your cuts are super fast and make the whole thing difficult to watch.
Great work on this one. Very cinematic. We just posted a similar video of Denver and the empty streets during lockdown. Keep up the great work!
