- July 4th weekend 2007; Glenn Cornick, legendary original bassist of Jethro Tull, joined us for a set at the amazing Iridium Jazz club NYC...playing his original bass lines that he recorded in the 60's/70's
Glenn was a great bassist. Loved the early Tull.
Tull has had a number of really good bassists.....but Glenn has always been my favorite by far.
Nice guy too...he had time for this young excited teener who accosted him as he finished a gig with his band Wild Turkey in Bletchley , UK
Didn't like the way Glenn was kicked out of the band ... to make way for Ian's old school buddy Geoffrey. On the other hand, John Glascock was a monster on bass...
Tull had 2 of the best bassist's ever IMO.. Glenn Cornick and John Glascock Rip
@@davidlogan9777 Dave Pegg as well.
@@danbitgood429 but after Dave Pegg they really didn't have a good bassist after that. I mean I can't even remember the last two. I can't even hear the instruments in some of the 2022 concerts.
Gotta love an actual member joining a tribute band...must be surreal experience...Glenn enjoying that original sound
Glenn was having some fun for sure..Rip
This band are really very good and the singer sounds very much like Ian Anderson. I've been interested in Jethro Tull for 48 years and know their songs and sound inside-out. Well done fellas!
The lads good but only one ian anderson love to listen to tribute bands there attention to detail is one of the best
Really a great Band..so happy to see live one of my favourite Bassist....R.i.P. Glenn.
GOD BLESS YOU GLENN, YOU BROUGHT MANY HOURS OF MUSICAL ENJOYMENT TO ALL THE "TULLIANS" OVER THE YEARS MATE.
Erm, he's not able to read what you've said.
Nice job covering possibly the most unique and difficult band to replicate...especially Ian Anderson's one of a kind vocal and flute style😁
Quite agree - like the sound better than the Martin Barre band and of course the flute . Do they play and tour anymore ?
Totally agree they are doing a great job 👌
Wow, my first taste of Warchild but a 50 + year fan of Jethro Tull.
Having read all the glowing comment herein, what else can I say? It's very heart warming to know so many people were so touched by Jethro Tull's magic, particularly back in the days of the Benefit and Standup era. Wonderful memories indeed.
I must say it’s probably the best attempt at a cover of a very difficult group to play. Not bad nice job.
Glenn Cornick 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I could live happily with the four first albums. Seeing Glenn here brings serious chills.
just remember Jeffrey Hammond was on the fourth Tull album. I got to meet Glenn in '76 when he was in "Paris".
Glen Cornick has since passed away ??
Glenn 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great that Glen joined the band for this performance. Sadly he passed away in 2014. But it's great to see a Tull tribute band tackle some of the earlier material that was so jazz-rock fusion, as opposed to the later and more pop-style stuff. But I love it all. So groundbreaking. And these guys did it all justice.
great effort guys lots of love from Suffolk England in 2023
Excellent with the late great Glen too! Brilliant.🇬🇧
Bloody great! I love it
Great to see Glenn Cornick. Apparently he got around, he joined another tribute to play Inside. My favourite bass player period. He was brilliant. And the band! So rare to hear Childhood Heros included with TAAB. Great stuff.
The band's cover of "Minstrel in the Gallery" ROCKS.
Perfectly inspired Tull tribute band! Iv'e been listening since 1972, but only saw the original JT once, in 1997
Impressive! Very impressive! First saw. Tull in 72 TAAB tour. Love the Jeffery Hammond striped outfit. The only things missing were a rabbit walking across the stage, a phone ringjng for Mike Nelson where there was a fish on the line and a weather report.
RIP Glenn Cornick
Glenn Cornick you inspired me to play the bass. 20 years and still learning. Living in the past I wished...🎵🎵🎵🌈❤
Saw Tull 22 times and you can be very very proud of yourselfs!!! Amazing! Bravo! Bravo!
I've seen Tull every year since '72I must say this is the best Tull Band I've ever heard! I've heard a few and they always left me wanting. This is a great band!!
Wow. Doing The Third Hoorah??? Fantastic. Even Tull never tried to play that live!!! Thank you guys!!!
You can clearly see on Gleen's face that he's impressed by the frontman ability to mimic Ian Anderson's flute playing.
I'm here for Glenn Cornick. Words cannot describe my joy listening to him play with this fantastic band. Teacher (although Glenn didn't like it) brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for posting this. I wish I could have been there to meet him.
Too cool !!!!
Close your eyes !! ...it's 1969 !!! ...never open them again !
I agree! It brought tears to my eyes too to see Glen Cornick performing with the band. Great tribute band. Let me add I love that amazing hair of the singer too. Just cascades over his shoulders in amazing curls.

😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Really amazing. Sounds so authentic! The singer is almost a clone of Ian A., if I didn‘t see the pictures I‘d think it‘s Tull in their early years. Congrats to this cover band. 💪🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for the good Work ❤ Greetings from EAST- Berlin .I'm a great Tull- Fan since 1970 beheind the Wall, very bad time .Music was our anchor
you needed a bigger stage xx love 💝 from Suffolk England
Just come across this and so glad I did. Shut my eyes and could almost hear the Tull I remember so vividly from the 60's/70's. An excellent accomplished tribute band. Brilliant to see Glenn Cornick playing !!
That was pretty amazing. Perfect Tull experience!. Having Glenn there was awesome too.
I liked the "technical difficulties" interlude.😜
what a thrill to see Glenn Cornick! Hard to believe he was only on the first 3 albums. Such good music and such a nice guy. He is missed. RIP
And a nice striped tribute to Jeffrey by the band's regular bassist!
Always a bummer that Glenn got fired.
@@scottreeve5716 the word is that Glenn was a heavy partier back then, and Ian was not having that.
I.a. could be a stuffy bloke .
@@michaelkoszowski3716 I've been a huge Tull and Ian fan for 50 years, but I recognize that Ian has a big ego and seems to want to control things. I do respect that it seems like he never did drugs, which was really rare back then.
Thank you for posting this video! I am really enjoying this, especially TAAB.
great tribute band ... great memories of the late Glenn Cornick from the original and legendary lineup of Tull ..
Very very well done and a wonderful and beautiful memory to Glenn and the old Tull - sadly I never saw them live in the former days... magic again... Great respect!!!
Thank you!
THIS music is no cakewalk! Kudos to all involved here. You ve really really captured the magic of probably the greatest artistic ensemble of the R&R era. and further more you do mankind a great service setting an example and carrying the torch. Rock on!
A right good show, Gents! Especially on "Nothing Is Easy" - I think one of their most difficult tunes to cover. Ditto for "Hunting Girl"! And sure - who can do Ian - but Ian? Still, damn good job on the flute, and IMHO, even better on acoustic guitar. BRAVO! WAR CHILD!! - BRAVO! Glenn Cornick - RIP.
The Warchild! Hurrah!!!
Just discovered your channel and I'm quite impressed with your JT covers. JT (1969-1979) being my preferred band. It takes a lot of work and skill to break down and reproduce them. I can hardly imagine the thrill of having Glenn come join you on stage. Also checked out your group's web page. Glad to see you're still in service.
Great performance - one of the best tribute bands I've ever seen...!!
Thank you!
Vocals surely better than what I'm hearing from Martin's new tribute band.
Excellent !
Only a handful of likes?! This is amazing stuff! The fluidity of Glenn's bass was as slick as ever and the whole sound is perfect early Tull.
I only wish I had been there.
Wonderful. Just wonderful. Good work lads, very good!
Thank you! It was special opportunity to play with him, at such a great jazz venue... we flew him out and he stayed over at my father's place! Shared funny stories and his sharp wit! Loved him
@@jeremycohen113 , I've just got around to watching from Cross Eyed Mary onwards and the rest of you and your band's fine performance did not disappoint either! Wonderful work. Might have punched the air once or twice during TAAB and Aqualung!
Glad to hear that Glenn was a gent. They say to never meet your heros, I've met a few and they turned out to be lovely!
Anyway...
Brilliant and authentic performance!
Damn! You guys absolutely rock!
Check out Jethro Tull with special guest Paul Forrest. Paul does such a great, genuine version of a younger Ian Anderson that Ian, himself had him front a couple of songs from Stand Up and Benefit.
Grandissima Jethro Tull cover band !!!!!
Great to see that was is the essence of Tull is alive and well.
Love it! ❤
Got to say I never liked the music nearly as much as the original group from 70- 78 eras. Awesome to hear Glenn again 👍
Grand genial the jethro tull
Classic Bass Solo on Bouree. Cheers Glen!
BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing performance!!! All Tull-ish' and everything Grand!! :)
Thank you for taking me to music heaven
Great tribute to Glenn.
Godamn that fellow sounds like Ian, too cool
Thier timing is hot and cold but twice as better than mine
❤😊😂😅🎉😮😢❤😊😢😂😮😢
Ian was three things at once , flautist, singer and choreographer, very difficult.
Not an easy job doing Tull. They done a great job
Awesome touches , and the music never stopped
Great Ian anderson tribute!
Difficult bass solo and a unique one. Glenn replays it great. So cool to see him play it live, and in later years. Even Bach would have liked it.
JT cover bands always wonderful !
Oh yes indeed! They all seem to be good alright, including this band.

😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Great set! I thought the singer sounded quite a lot like Ian Anderson. Good flute work too!
Most impressive 👏 loved seeing Glen with these guys. Clicked on this for Glen ended up watching the whole thing. Love Tull music and this was an impressive reproduction. The vocals sound way better than Ian does these days. Not sure how accurate this is but I remember reading somewhere a while back that Glen was let go from the band because Ian had a very strict no tolerance drug rule and Glen liked to smoke pot. Not sure how truthful that is? So great to see him here enjoying playing the wonderful music he was a part of creating with this wonderful band, love it all but Teacher really hit home for me. Thanks for this. love you Glen RIP
@aschule5684 thanks so much for the kind words! This was a really special time, we invited Glenn to NYC to stay with us for a few days and play this show and it was great seeing him learn these songs and versions again.... his bass tone was awesome from the very start!!! He was a fun loving guy with heavy sarcasm, yes unceremoniously fired from the band... we lost Paul Caruso, the lead singer a few years later, he died
@@jeremycohen113 hi Jeremy, thank you for your reply. When you say Paul died would you be referring to the gentleman singing in this video and are you a member of this great band?
@aschule5684 yes the singer Paul passed, the story is sad and not for this forum... I'm the drummer for the group, we're still performing in NY 2-3x year
@@jeremycohen113 it's kinda funny because I've played guitar all my life but I'm a HUGE drummer fan and you're awesome. As far as Tull goes Clive Bunker and Barrymore Barlow , I got to see a Tull show on RUclips here late 70's I believe or the "songs from the wood" era and the solo Barry played was one of the most incredible I'd ever seen and heard "outstanding" John Bonham said he was the finest drummer England ever produced, I see why he felt that way. Very sorry to learn of Paul's passing he was quite talented and did justice to Ian Anderson and I'm glad for his sake his memory will live on through this video. Couple questions, was your guitar player playing a red Gibson SG or is that something else?
Couldn't tell the camera never got close enough. Also do you know what he was using for an amp?
And, are you in another Tull tribute band?
Great job!
Excellent!!!!!
1:15 never thought I'd hear that done live
This band is/was great. Frontman has the vocals right.
Glenn and Johnny Glascock were unique
Wow, impressed!!
Also, better than todays Ian's JethroTragedy.
@Shaun Howard
-Yup.
-Who wouldn't?
You look like Ian Anderson more than Glenn Cornick looks like himself 😄
Superb!
Sensacional mesmo impecável 👏👏👏
Honestly,a stalwart performance, have you any gigs planned for northern Ireland covid allowing.
Brilliant!
The similar sound of Ians voice sets this cover band apart from the others.
Not really. His voice is not nearly as rich and expressive as Ian in his heyday.
@@MyVeryHappyDay I said COVER bands
@@hvac01453 - Uh, actually you said “the similar sound of Ian’s voice...” and I disagreed with your comparison of his voice vs Ian’s voice.
Fabulous version of TAAB.
Nice to hear the parts of TAAB, Ian's band ditched long ago.
Muy bien banda disfruten del buen rock 👍👌
I'm so embarrassed to know all the words to warchild and minstrel in the gallery

you guys do quality work!!!
As good as Tull? And the vocal is there? Very good!
Honestly, I would pay to see these guys before I'd pay to see the ACTUAL Jethro Tull.
The waitress is also great !!!
Excellent tribute Tull band. Lead vocalist has Ian's delivery down but is missing Ian's greatests attribute - his bug-eyed connection with the audience.
Where did he get that coat?
This doesn’t look like the same group Warchild from the Huntington Long Island - Elks Tull convention? Great cover!
It's the same band, 7 years before with previous singer who passed away too young
Is that the guy layong Jesus on “The Chosen”?
Great show ...but the flute is a bit sharp...(high) ..you can rectify this by pulling out the mouth piece a few millimeters..
I wish I had kept my hollow bodied gretch bass it's worth upward of 10k now I walked with it on my back and brought my flute too
😊😂😢❤😅😢😮😂😢❤😊😅😢I think I swapped a duosonic for it at gruhn guitar early 70s
I thought I was a musician

The singer/flutist is more Anderson than Anderson
CHUCKLE .
Jeffrey Hammond Hammond his mom and dad had the same last names

Is he a clone?
