Its not only the best, for many days, is the ONLY video about the new TTArtisan 27mm lens for Nikon Z. Everything else is Fuji and not a single one for the Sony one! :D Greetings from México!
It's a good piece of gear! Nikons 28mm and 26mm lenses are the main antagonists but way more expensive. I would to try the 26mm out tho. It's a really small piece of glass. Glad you enjoyed the video !!
Ilias, big big question...other reviewers mention that the 28mm would be a 35-40ish equivalent in full frame, but it IS an aps-c lens, so...whats up with that? I do understand the difference between APS-C and FF, but it would still behave like a 28mm for the APS-C, correct? I ask this because currently, I'm using the F mount AF-S DX 35mm 1.8 with FTZ adapter, but wanted to buy a wider focal length. The 35mm is 35mm in my Nikon Z fc, so this TTArtisan would be a 28mm as well...right?? Sorry if the question is dumb but I'm getting quite confused with how people around explain it, and if it's going to produce images with a similar focal length to my AF-S DX 35mm, then there's no point in getting it...right? Correct me if I'm wrong, please 😵💫 Love your content, keep the Zfc going, man!
Hey mate. This was very confusing for me as well for many years so I get your confusion 😅 Every lens that you use on apsc gives a x1.5 equivalent in terms of full frame. So what you are seeing with a 28mm DX lens is what you would see on a 40mm on full frame. It doesn't matter if the lens is apsc or not. The only reason they are labeled as apsc lenses is because they are designed to cover a smaller sensor. So if you put them on full frame you will have large spots of darkness in the corner's.
Nice video. I already have a Nikon AF-S DX 35 mm that I use with a FTZ2 adapter. I’m wondering if I should buy this lens you’ve reviewed here or not. I’m not sure if it’ll be that different from the 35mm one.
Hmm that's a good question. If you find yourself needing more space all the time then a wider lens would help you out a lot. But if you feel that the 35mm doesn't limit you then keep shooting with it. Personally for my photography I prefer using lenses around 23mm-27mm and avoid 35mm (for crop sensors). But that's just me. We all have different styles.
Simplicity and minimalism. This lens helps me to enjoy the moment and not think about my gear. It's such a great kit to have especially now that summer is around the corner ✨
Thanks mate! I wanted to test it out in the real world and not just take some pictures of my mom's flowers like many others do. People have the right to get honest opinions
Yes I'll do a video soon on that!! I found a website which adds "film like" picture profiles and with a little bit of editing with some of my presets the colors look beautiful 😍
Well. The Nikon is the better lens overall. If someone uses full frame nikons but is also using the zfc then the 28mm is perfect. If someone has the money then that's the right choice. Wouldn't do it myself tho. I feel like pancake lenses are for casual photography and that's why I wouldn't waste that much money on a first party lens like that. What I did is I got the 23mm 1.4 viltrox for my best work in low light and I paired it up with this TTArtisan 27mm 2.8 for whenever I want to go casual.
@@IliasKoureas I assume you will have a similar take with the Z 26mm - even more compact and has a similarly noisy AF motor, at 3.5x the price. I'm curious how their IQ compare to each other though.
@@pseudoryx9284 I would love to try it out. It looks like a really nice lens. If someone owns a full frame camera and the zfc then the 26mm is the obvious choice. I would like to see a really small pancake lens just for the apsc line like the Fuji 28mm which is ridiculously small and affordable too (compared to the 26mm).
Nice detailed video. I think I will keep using my 35mm 1.8 Nikon lens for travel with my Nikon z6ii and have my 20mm 1.8 f-mount in my bag. Possibly looking to add the Nikkor 105mm F2.8 Micro lens as well.
I did a test and after f4 both lenses are really sharp. The good thing about this lens is that it opens up at f2.8 which our kit lenses cannot. It is softer at f2.8 tho from nikons kit lens
Since you don't care about autofocus , I wouldn't really change lenses. Die 2mm machen keines unterschied. Sorry if I butchered the German part. I was born in Germany but I forgot how to speak it properly 😅
You shoot really beautifully-graded pictures! And the review is done so clearly and tastefully. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
This was a fantastic video, really well produced with great information, and I loved your images!
Thank you! It was definitely worth it to bring this small lens on a trip with me 😅
@@IliasKoureas Yup, I just picked up the Fuji version for EDC/travel and really love it so far!

Yeah, Fuji users always get their lenses before us Nikon users 😭 Greetings from Greece my friend
Nice video Elias! Great and detailed feedback of this small and very promising lens!

the lens is made to enjoy and absorb a bit more the photography rather than thinking which lens to use or not. I LOEVI T

Love all your photos ilias ! Anyway can you share your nikon zfc setting picture style and awb ? 🥹

Mine just arrived but after fixing on my zfc, the AF couldn’t be use and also when on MF, the shutter button not able to shoot. Is there any setting?
Have you tried to update the firmware on your lens?
@@IliasKoureas Yes i did the firmware to try fix the problem and can’t be solve. Now i have to stay with my nikon z 28mm f2.8

Илиас отличное видео , купил себе никон zfc и этот объектив. Греция красивая!
That's good to hear my brother! Much love from Greece ❤️
Is it actually sharper than the kit lens at the same focal length?
I'll run a quick test today and I'll let you know.
