Thank you
Hi
This Insignia CDTI came to me with the engine light on, and a message on the information display saying "Service Soon"...
A quick scan revealed the problem, a bit of investigation revealed the issue... and again, paying attention and being pride of your work, would have prevented this from happening...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!
From SW France.
Tigra Twintop would cut out after some seconds. No faults showing up. Spent last June working on it to no avail. Got garage to take it. Several weeks later he said it was oil going down the oil pressure switch wire into the ecu, but cleaning didn't make much difference. Phone his usual ECU repair shop with details but they couldn't deal this Bosch model, so sent off to "only shop in France" (if I umderstood correctly) that could handle it. It was beyond repair and replacement would cost me total of 800€. After a week looking into it, I said go ahead. That was November. My car is still outside his garage.
Some words from the wise people here would be extremely welcome...😢
Can you not get a second hand ecu and clone yours?
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairsThat's what I had assumed. But it's not something I'd done before so left it with the professionals...
Thanks for the reply.
Hi Luis great video as always.i would advise customer to have the oil pump pick seal changed in the sump as theses items are known to go hard & causes low oil pressure & damage the engine not worth the risk for such a cheap part.
☺️👍
defo oil pump seal and on pre- facelift models. oil pump aswell@@LMAutoRepairs
Mine has just started showing the oil pressure message for a few seconds on cold start in the morning
It will 100% be the oil pick up seal letting air in and stopping correct oil pressure in the system
Mines booked in to do the seal and an oil and filter change
Just over £200 Inc parts
@mancsblue
Common issue on those...
👍👍👍
You need a warm and well lit workshop, I know that may not be feasible but it would help you immensely and imagine how much good content you could make if you were full time youtube! Thanks for an interesting video. I have seen this same fault on a Ford transit too, the plugs for the speed sensor and crank sensor can be swapped round and causes no start issues
☺️
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Good work , no parts needed
☺️
Started the video, saw oil pressure low... am guessing oil pick up seal as common on this engine.. lets see
That is correct
it doesnt seem like that was the fault but i wouldnt be suprised if that engine gives up soon due to the above fault@@moxadrian
@@mohitl1697 totally agree

Well spotted jobs a good en

Yet again, it's time for idiot tax to be added to the bill. How many times do we see this sort of thing. You would have thought the EGR temp sensor wouldn't be damaged by 12v, EGR temp sensors have a far higher resistance than coolant sensors.
Luckily nothing was damaged...🤞
Like the idea of the tax...🤪
👍👍👍
good morning Luis that is poor two plugs that can swap near to each other you would think there would at least be a difference with a keyway or shape good catch by the way january last year bet your fingers were cold you deffo a car nut ps made comment before end i jumped the gun
😅
Agree, the plugs should be keyed or different...
👍👍👍
15.6V battery voltage seems bit high? Low oil pressure is common fault on this engines due to oil pickup tube seal, should be fixed as soon as possible
👍👍👍
that solenoid with wrong wires is oil pressure, maybe that vas triggering oil pressure low at 3:43
Could well be... as I have never seen that after the repair...
👍👍👍
The mk1 Mondeo used to have a similar problem on the petrol models.
No 4 injector connector and the cam sensor were very close to each other and the plugs were the same.
Symptoms were a misfire
☺️
👍👍👍
I had the exact same fault years ago some pleb switched the plugs over after changing the coolant housing in that corner they shouldn't have made the same plugs to be honest,
Agree... they should be keyed or different...
