Such a cool new device! The UdB pro is going to be awesome as well. Great video
It seems really interesting, but have no idea what you are talking about 🤷🏻♂️
Perfect use case video. Been waiting for someone to make this. Setups like this are simple but helps massively to watch an expert do it, as there are so many products in the range. I’ve been networking for 20+ years and wouldn’t buy anything without videos like this
Maybe it's for things like CCTV such as being in a garage that doesn't have ethernet run to it but does have power?
Yeah it's perfect for that, a dedicated wireless backhaul to a single device like a camera or access points, or build a wired LAN from the connection on the other end :)
Great demonstration. What is the brand of work bench in the video? Ultimate something
Great video. I have 2 garages that these devices would come in very handy as I can’t run Ethernet cables to these locations. How did you manage to get your hands on this device? Can’t seem to get them in the UK.
Looks like my first mobile phone wearing a white suit.
Another cracking video. Lots of info to take in, might have to watch it again lol.
I currently have a usg lite gateway feeding into an 8 port switch, 4 ports being POE. 3 of the poe ports are in use, one for a cloud key and two for access points. I also have a 3rd mesh access point. I'm really not sure how I would use this bridge.
Great video Alex! Love ubiquiti!
Thank you, so do we!
The one thing I find odd about the design is, they have the RJ45 port right next to the external antenna jack. I have a couple of the years old AirGateway devices, which do the same thing, except they're not in the Unifi eco system. Their antenna jack is mounted on the side.
1:12 , no that's a Wifi Repeater you've described, I'm also really confused how you state its connected in mesh mode when you earlier stated you had mesh turned of in software options.
Yes it is a Wifi 5 Device, The 866Mbps you showed at 3:40 is its maximum data rate, assuming MCS rates can be achieved.
Repeaters can strengthen the signal into a wider range so it can act like a mesh network.
@@WarlordMoA no, both repeaters and mesh devices "strengthen" the signal.
It is not the key feature that makes one a repeater and the other a mesh network.
can you put a Flex switch on one of these? they only really advertise them for cameras and phones
I want to do the same set up for my gates! Can you do a how to and walk through please!!
When you tested your camera I noticed at the antennas were not screwed in 🙂
Excited for the gate access
Coming Soon :)
Great content.
Thank you!
Will you be doing a video on you new gates
It's like re-inventing the car.
😂
Interesting Wi-Fi 5 bridge connector for close circuit connection, hmmm 🤔
Cheers fella 👍
Why does the pro one exist? It’s basically a nanobeam 5ac with a shorter link distance that can only connect to the same kind of device. And it is so expensive. Someone please enlighten me if I am wrong.
We had the same thoughts and said 'all you have to do is click a few buttons'. Airmax isn't for everone, with time/expertise needed to understand configuration, and that same person would *probably* pay the price for the ease of setup and integration - is our thoughts. If you understand AirMax, then you're a one up, so no complaints 😂
So it's a fancy range extender lol
How come u don't hide u public Ip?
It’s just a wireless AP with out Poe port.
That speed is very slow
350Mbps over 100ft isn't bad at all considering the circumstances.
More networking…..
Just like you said in the conclusion, I find this device totally useless.
