I got 4 of his records on vinyl, each as a Genesis member and 4 each as a solo artist. He has made his music the soundtrack of many a person’s life. When Phil is dead and gone, we all will remember his many musical talents.
It is amazing that one man could write so many wonderful melodies without repeating himself. In the future, someone will take his songs and use them to write symphonies.

Phil is fantastic. Never on my top 10 list, but respect his genius. That said, this song is an underrated gem that holds up to the standards of Lennon/McCartney and John/Taupin. Phil's best by far.
When this came out I was 13 and remember just singing to myself and thinking this would never be me.i would never mistreat someone I love. Lost this in my memory till a few years back when my wife of 25 years plus had been unfaithful many times. I would listen to this and try and stay in love and make sense of it all. That was 5 years ago and while we still live together and god knows I try and not be angery,i know that harms me most.i dont feel the same way and am just ready to change.the change scares me more the thought of leaving. This song came back into my life and was able to keep me from killing myself or someone else I still love this song and the calm it brings me
