@@WintersWar If you watch Phil’s reluctance when he left the stage after the very last gig in London in March it is more than obvious how important this Genesis tour has been for him. I cried like we lost him already when I seen him recently try to perform like he used to. 😢 ... His music is masterpiece after masterpiece and every single album brings me back to the exact time and season of my life when I first heard it....the warmth of a summer day and the cold of a wintery afternoon, smells and all!! I Don't Care Anymore" by Phil Collins is an absolute masterpiece of raw emotion and power. The hauntingly honest lyrics and Phil’s passionate delivery strike a deep chord, perfectly capturing the defiance and liberation of letting go. The driving drumbeat, paired with the eerie keyboard tones, creates an intense atmosphere that builds beautifully throughout the song. It's a timeless track that showcases Phil Collins' unparalleled ability to blend vulnerability with strength

Read the comments of how POWERFUL THIS SONG IS. I was in a toxic relationship and I was dancing with the devil(heroin) and I OD'd and when I shockingly awoke this song was playing. That was 13 years ago today I been clean and sober because this song gave me the"reason" to quit. Music IS therapy. EVERY anniversary of my sobriety I jam this ALLLLLLLLL through the day/night. It gives me strength as does reading your comments. Be good friends
"I don't care anymore (did you hear?)" is my fav lyric (0:57). As he says "did you hear" almost under his breath, it just feels like controlled anger that I can just totally relate to.
Thank you, Phil Collins. I'm still here and listening to this (again) after watching your Drumeo documentary with Nic on December 19th, 2024. This song was my 14-year-old self's anthem when it was released, and it kept me sane during a very difficult period of my life. The Legend, Mr. Phil Collins, thank you for the music. I am grateful. 💙
@@traceysmith268 For anyone confused as to who's playing the drums on this song. It is actually Phil Collins playing the drums --- on the studio version of the song. However, the visual, is a promotion of what the tour looked like. As a solo artist,, Phil had Chester Thompson, playing drums, for many live shows.
Legendary drummer. Amazing artist. Creative visionary. Historian with insight for topics no one was thinking of at the time: homelessness, war, racism. A true legend.
This song helped me to finally come to terms with the fact that my dad may have loved me, but he hardly ever showed it. For every kind word he had for me there were a thousand critical statements and comments like " that boy gets dumber every day". I realized that the opposite of love is not hate, but just "not caring anymore". If you hate someone, you still care what they think about you and you let them rent space in your head and your heart. I retired and left the state and never looked back. No goodbyes needed, just glad to be gone and at peace. Parents remember this: words have power! speak blessings over your children!
I don’t know how familiar you are with Phil/Genesis’ music, but Genesis wrote a song called, No Son of Mine. It may also help you through the pain. So sorry about your relationship with your father.
Sir, I relate to youre comment. Except it was my Mother. Words cut deep. Words cut to the bone. My mother died and I didn't find out until 7 months after she died. I've yet to shed a single year and this was 2 years ago.
Going through hell right now. Woke up this morning with this song in my head & it is perfect for what I am going through. I will make it to the other side!!!
This song is basically the best part of In the Air Tonight (drum entry bridge) for an entire song. Phil is so talented, it's unbelievable. An excellent example of why great drumming only needs to be perfect minimalism, and not non-stop exotic time signatures to be legendary.
Plus from what I have heard he was straight as an arrow, no drugs or alcohol I think. He was influenced by his heart. God, I wish I had his voice. A real stand-up guy in my book. I think we are supposed to call him Sir Phil Collins.
He had admitted in an interview that he did have an alcohol problem back in the 80's and then again in some recent years after he couldn't drum anymore. Regarding the 80's he said that he felt bad about drinking so much b/c he felt that he influenced his best friend Eric Clapton who also had an alcohol problem. I agree that Phil is a stand-up guy! He always wore his heart on his sleeve, and that's why alot of his songs are so good b/c they come from real emotion! He had talked about his first divorce and how it was particularly painful for him to get through and that some of his songs came from that experience.
I was blasting this, and yelling along, in the car... after quitting a very toxic job. Point Blank. Walked out after years with the company, being treated like crap.

The ultimate kick em to the curb song.
I dont care what you say. I don't play the same games you play.🎵The lyrics of a awaken soul 🌟
The way Phil Collins keeps cool while performing a song with lyrics like this...He is OVER IT.
Well, he was done with Genesis, that's for sure.
My favorite song in GTA 5 masterpiece

This, right here is the ultimate "I'm pissed off and I'm done with your bull$hit, I'm not putting up with your fuckery anymore" song ever! Even the way the drummer is banging those drums...man...just brilliant. This has always been my go to song when I've gotten fed up.
Totally agree
Hang in there
Same here sweetheat rock on!!!
I'm pretty sure fuckery isnt a word but it should be sometimes
The singer was also the drummer.
Perfect song to listen to as I was driving to my final divorce hearing! The only song one needs to get the confidence to walk into that final hearing.
I hear you MY wife and I have and have been married for 45yrs and this OCT it will be 46yrs. I don't even know who this person is anymore. GOOD LUCK IN LIFE.
Thanks Mr. Collins. I couldn't have done the 80's without you.
The mental determination it must have took to "not care anymore..." best song in the last century.
I used to be a janitor at a local college band room. They got new Pearl drums and I had a blast with this song!!!
From one drummer to another. Right on !!! I would not have been able to help myself either. Hahahah
That sounds like the opening scene of a movie where a future music star/savant is discovered.
Like the principal walks in and is like, "Mr. Gros! You can't be here! Wait.....was that YOU playing...?"
"Yes sir, I'm sorry....I'll go ho..."
"Stop. Mr. Gros.....come with me. I have someone to introduce you to..."
Is that why you “used” to be a janitor? They caught you and were like “David… what are you doing?” 😂
Lol, sounds like fun though to be honest
Nice.
I wonder if & how Neil Peart swung the sticks after hearing this song?
Phil, the absolute minimalist master. I admire him more with each year.
I had this song on repeat as a teenager. This song was my anthem for the anger I felt toward a variety of people.
Has been my favorite song since it came out.
How in the hell is this song 40 years old already???
I learned this at 9 then. Think about them apples.
Days pass slowly , but years fly by . Crazy isn't it .
I was just thinking the same thing!
Shut up and just listen.
Great music .just listen and learn
One of the best F You songs ever written.
There was one that was quite close -- Get Over It by the Eagles. Henley & Frey came close, but this one has the length to release all of the angst inside ya.

Perfect anthem for someone who's been treated like crap by people their whole life and told it's for your own good.
Yes. I’ve had enough. I’m now in my early 50s. It’s my turn after years of abusive family and marriage!
I’m here.
That's me I'm Done I have had enough I'm not going to Cry I'm going to move forward .
Here!
It's a song that you play when you are on your way to do damage!
This song is so good. There is no song like that anymore. No more, no more.
I love it!
Hahaha
Agreed
I remember blasting this song on my brand new car stereo back in 1999. The sound blasting was worth every lyric-thanks for your lyrical work Mr. Collins
Not only is Phil Collins a great drummer, he is also a great composer. :)
The day we lose Phil Collins is going to be such a sad day. It's going to be just like losing a family member. It hurts me to see that he's currently in poor health...
I pray for him each day
😞😞
He's given so much over the decades, really astonishing. He's a workhorse too. being idle will do him in.
@@WintersWar If you watch Phil’s reluctance when he left the stage after the very last gig in London in March it is more than obvious how important this Genesis tour has been for him. I think it’s essential that his children, especially Lily, Nic and also Matthew will be there for him whenever they can.
I will definitely do a lot of crying when we really lose him. Such a talent, they don't make musicians like him anymore...they just don't. ❤❤❤
Best lone sheep in the family song ever
High-five from a fellow BLACK SHEEP. Thankfully I no longer talk to my 3 EX-siblings. Thank God I can return to my childhood of the 1980s for a Phil Collins tune like this

One of the best Phil Collins songs I've heard in all my life. Long live Phil Collins!
It’s the best song he’s made
I agree, it just makes you want to scream at the people that did you dirty
The best song
This is how I feel towards the people who threw me away
I agree
And you realize it’s not just talk to make yourself feel better. You really don’t care anymore!!😊
Same here
I don’t know ur situation. But God put u on this earth for a reason .. it’s up to u to find out that reason.. and remember where one won’t .. another will.. keep ur head up and if u need someone to talk to I’m here.. so smile.. even when it hurts.. smile..
Living well is the best revenge. Use it as motivation. Had a lot of that in my life and yes, I live well.
That's great you kicked the habit! One day at a time.

"I don't care anymore (did you hear?)" is my fav lyric (0:57). As he says "did you hear" almost under his breath, it just feels like controlled anger that I can just totally relate to.
2:40
When he says "I do alright by myself"
"I dont care an emoji" thats what he said
I thought it was: “I don’t care anymore …what you here” … because he was singing about what she might overhear about the state he’s in?
NO WHAT IS ACTUALLY BEING SAID IS the word
"JESUS"😢 BECAUSE it is Satan who is telling heaven that he doesn't care anymore 😮😮😮
It was written to his ex wife during their divorce.
I didn't know the middle finger had lyrics. Nice.
Grrrrrrrr such a great comment

Good one!
I saved your comment. It’s on point and oh so cool 😍
Phil beat those Drums like they owed him money!!! 🥁👊🏽
Or it's just the way he feels. Money has nothing to do with this. Because he makes money
I don't think he's playing drums here lol I think that's Chester Thomson
If rock could be considered classy, he's it, he's it man.
❤ yes!!!
The emotion Phil projects from this song is thrilling.
The drummer is freakin awesome.
So is Phil an awesome drummer.
Shout out to Chester Thompson who KILLED it on the drums for this video!!!
Tracey Smith actually Phil played every single instrument on this track 🤯
I know he did but for this video, Chester killed it!!!
Of course the drummer is good. Phil Collins started out as a drummer.
yups!
@@traceysmith268 For anyone confused as to who's playing the drums on this song. It is actually Phil Collins playing the drums --- on the studio version of the song. However, the visual, is a promotion of what the tour looked like. As a solo artist,, Phil had Chester Thompson, playing drums, for many
live shows.
This song will never get old. One of the best talents in our presence!
You got that right its my theme song
Legendary drummer. Amazing artist. Creative visionary. Historian with insight for topics no one was thinking of at the time: homelessness, war, racism. A true legend.
I saw him perform at the Music Hall in Houston, Texas and he played the drums and sang this song... Talented is an understatement. Genius.
Thank you for writing this song for me ...😎
The transition from staring angrily into the camera to vacant chants of "no more" is subtle genius.
You saw that too?!! #genius
Parents remember this: words have power! speak blessings over your children!
thank you for pulling a voice to my pain....i am glad you are on a jounery of recovery.
I hope you are ok.
Same with my parents. Left home 34 years ago and never looked back. My father passed 4 years ago. Took a few months until I found out. No tears shed.
well, whoever Phil was pissed off at, it sure paid off. this song will go down as one of the most powerful in history.
Going through hell right now. Woke up this morning with this song in my head & it is perfect for what I am going through. I will make it to the other side!!!
Yes this to shall pass
Take a listen to Gary Allan Just Got Back From Hell.
I relate how come there's so many assholes in the world
Yes, relatable! Thing's have a way of shifting in your favor.. Trust in God! Always!
Everything 👍 just thank God 😊
This song is basically the best part of In the Air Tonight (drum entry bridge) for an entire song. Phil is so talented, it's unbelievable. An excellent example of why great drumming only needs to be perfect minimalism, and not non-stop exotic time signatures to be legendary.
It's a continuation of his anger at how his first marriage ended (his first wife cheated).
This is in my top five from Phil, he's so angry sounding on this song and emotionally charged, great singing indeed and drumming!
Pretty sure this song is for his first wife who he divorced, apparently it was a bad one.
"Get out of my way! Let me by! I've got better things to do with my time!"
There will never be another Phil Collins, increasable talent.

I was blasting this, and yelling along, in the car... after quitting a very toxic job. Point Blank. Walked out after years with the company, being treated like crap.

It is incredible how the song escalates. I mean it is like saying something it makes you angry and then you lose control and release all the pain and anger. Phil Collins...what a genious!
This song fits some situations when you have done as much as you can and can't take anymore criticism from someone ungrateful
