  • Hayden Shapes Holy Hypto - Wooly TV Surfboard review #43
This one was a real surprise. Never ridden a lot of Haydens designs and this one is by far the best Ive ridden.
Wooly weighs 87kg/192lb and is 6'1"/187cm tall - more like 90kg on most days :)
    Wooly is riding
    6'1" x 20 1/4" x 2 9/16" - 33.6L
    BUY HERE -

    From Hayden
The Holy Hypto AKA the Cohort_V is a combination of the Hypto Krypto and Holy Grail models, thus the Holy Hypto was created. Having more entry rocker, longer rail line with a performance nose, this shape will surf like your everyday driver with the speed and flow of the Hypto.
The wide point is forward of center allowing a lot of hidden foam to be under the front foot giving the surfer a larger sweet spot while surfing and great paddle power. Ridden 2” longer than your Hypto Krypto, it will suit a great variety of waves with a high performance approach.

      Hi mate
The Hypto Krypto is much fuller in the nose so you could ride that shorter. The Holy Hypto has a much narrower nose so you will need to go longer to get the same volume. Yes it works well in 1 to 5’ but would work better 3’ and up.

      Hi mate,
The FF construction has a little more flex in it than the FW construction. It feels a little; more 'springy' than a normal PU board too. Yoiu will get deck dents but less than a standard 4oz PU board. Mine has held up quite well after 10 surfs.

    It is not complete B.S.
    But, boards are highly overrated.
"It's the Indian, not the arrow." is TRUE.
This guy could ride a roof shingle. So could I. If you can surf, the type of board is the LAST important factor, behind waves and skill level.
There hasn't been a significant improvement in boards since Simon Law's "thruster".
Watch 1985 Sunset clips and todays.... The rides look identical. Small waves too .... except lanching air. Anyone that is launching AND landing air, is way past the point of getting board ideas from watching clips.
Same for golf clubs. You can play golf or you can't..... it's never the club.

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  7 месяцев назад +9

      Thanks for your comments.
I will take the compliment on my surfing and I can ride anything (to a degree) BUT
I’m going to have to disagree as I ride a lot of boards and some I really can’t get to work well at all. If you watch some of my other reviews you will notice some boards don’t allow me to surf how I want to. They force me to draw different lines and even lack speed or are flat in the rocker and they can’t be put into a pocket.
This has a good shape and the EPS FF construction makes it feel lively.
PS I don’t get paid to do these reviews, I fund them myself and always work on being genuine with my opinions of each board 🤙
