  • The HaydenShapes Holy Hypto Surfboard in FutureFlex Technology avialable here: www.boardshop....
The Holy Hypto carries the same DNA as the legendary Hypto Krypto, that board sells globally in serious numbers even though its been around for years, there is some magic in what Hayden does with these boards.
The Holy Hypto is a combination of the Hypto Krypto and Holy Grail models, it has more entry rocker, a longer rail line with a performance nose, this board can be your everyday board with the speed and flow of the Hypto and more performance potential. The wide point is forward of centre and its hides foam really well upfront to give a larger sweet spot and of course great paddle power. Ride it 2” longer than your Hypto Krypto, it'll work in a great variety of waves with gives you a more performance approach.
The Holy Hypto can work for a big range of surfers, its suitable for those progressing in surfing ability who wants to work on more aggresive turns right through to advanced surfers looking for the performance to match everyday waves. It'll go in anything form waist to well overhead waves.
It has a medium entry rocker (similar to Holy Grail), flat centre rocker, and slight tail rocker, stick it under your arm and you can feel the built in glide! The concave is set up as rolled vee up front, single concave under front foot, double concave through fins, and vee double out the tail, to keep it drivey but loose.
Fin wise its best suited to a wider base fin to suit the wider plan shape, like the HS1 signature model.
FutureFlex boards are constructed using custom designed high performance materials. However, like any surfboard, this does not prevent the board from breakage or compressions. If damage occurs, dry out all water from the EPS core before repairing it using Epoxy resin.
The staff here have surfed pretty much every board in the warehouse at some time or another and we speak to surfers from all over the world and get their feedback on how the boards perform in all sorts of conditions so we're well placed to talk about all aspects of Hayden Shapes Surfboards.

My current board is 6’2 38 L but too chunky for my progression now. I’m intermediate level with high fitness and surfing mostly beach breaks. What size do you recommend?

I'm trying to decide between a Hypto Krypto and a Holy Krypto.
I wanted a board to surf bigger waves than I do with the 5.6 Firewire Mashup but not so big as I do with the HI Mid6 mini 6.4 as a step-up.
For waves 3-6 feet a guy that likes to do top-bottom and carving on open faces but very very front footed what do you advice between these 2 boards ?
    Thanks a lot

Thanks for the breakdown Ian. I just saw your short on the Happy Everyday and I'm torn. I've been tossing up these two boards and was wondering if you could help me decide? I currently ride a CI Rocketwide 5'8 (30L) though I'm feeling somewhat uninspired (it is also quite an old board now) and I'm looking for a board to get excited with and surf in almost any condition and try more turns after suffering a long-term injury. The best board I've ever had was the CI Sampler (28L) and I'm looking to recreate a bit of that magic. Also just remembered another board I'm considering is the JS xero.

Thank you. Does it travel well? Does it ding easily?

Every future flex Hayden I've had has held up really well. Even had one wash up on a jetty and only had scratches.

It does travel well. No more than any other board but still durable of course

a thinner hypto crypto (same shape) is something I'd like to see.
Both much less wide and thinner deck to bottom.
A good barrel board in 4-6 foot barrels.

That exists. The hypto krypto step up is exactly that

Thanks, Just wondering, I was about to buy a HaydenShapes Hypto Krypto but wondering if anybody has any complaints about them. They look amazing, very light. Love the black color, but are there any downsides? I am currently on a Al Merrick TORQ MOD POD 6'6 and really like it! But wanted to maybe getting something a little smaller. I am 1.82 mt 56 years old and on the thin side and wondering if I need to get something around the 6'2 range, or even smaller, if I get the Haydenshape Hypto Krypto ? I live in Chile and we have pretty Big surf all year round.
    Thank you!

The Hypto is a solid board and dare I say it, a one board quiver type thing, super versatile and loads of fun to surf,
In my opinion, one of the best boards we've ridden and that is out there. You hear the term ‘ one board quiver ‘ a lot but to be honest it really is.
With the wide point forward for ease of paddling and wave catching and a pulled in tail it looked like something from the seventies, for performance and response, but brought up-to-date with the state-of-the-art FutureFlex Technology.
FutureFlex construction is a stringer-less parabolic carbon fibre frame, shaped out of high-density EPS foam and built from custom designed materials exclusive to the Hayden Shapes brand. The technology delivers a high energy, rapid spring back resulting in ultimate speed and drive, perfect for wave pools as this will allow you to keep your speed up and will help develop manoeuvrers.
This board can handle any conditions you chuck at it and will be able to perform even in the smallest of waves. Super forgiving and user-friendly and will offer you everything you want from a board.
A forgiving but super fun performance based board, something which does tackle anything you throw at it.
size wise , smaller is better with these boards, they pack a lot of volume in , so 6' 2 / 6' 0 would be ideal
