HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY WOOLY!
Lets see what Wooly has to say about the new Happy Everyday.
Heres what CI had to say........
Created by Britt Merrick from what was initially the Two Happy performance shortboard model, CI's new Happy Everyday fills a need in every surfer's quiver: the everyday shortboard.
Coming off the heels of CI's Pro Team loving the Two Happy, Britt wanted to draft off its performance attributes but modify it to address the everyday conditions most of us come up against. The kind of conditions where you want to rip and aren't feeling the groveler vibes, and at the same time maybe not quite the epic stuff you would use your high performance shortboard for. To achieve this goal, Britt shortened the rail to create a curvier outline, especially through the tail area. For both the entry and exit rockers he lowered them to increase paddle and planing speeds to cover a broader range of conditions. The single concave under the front foot acts as a gas pedal and generous double concave through the fins provides rail-to-rail ease and plenty of lift in the small stuff.
The CI Pro Team has been loving it, and the design was further validated in the recent Stab in the Dark that featured Taj Burrow in West Oz - not only for the way it looked under his feet but the fact he chose to paddle out on as the wildcard for WSL's Rottnest Islands event.
The Happy Everyday is a great all-around design that sits right between your high performance shortboard (Two Happy) and a step down/groveler (Rocket Wide).
In short, a board designed for high performance surfing on the majority of waves the majority of us surf every day, the Happy Everyday.

SICK DUDE !!! before I became disabled I grew up surfing Vancouver island then to North Shore of Oregon then to half moon bay , I miss surfing so much thank you for bringing it back to my life , I still have my long hair and have north shore tattooed across my neck ,, now that I'm disabled I have a supercar youtube chasing Toronto's craiest cars and sometimes actors and muscians like Drake , thank you for what you do I miss surfing everyday
Keep up that great attitude! 🤙
Board looks fun and looks like ya scored on ya trip. Sorry to hear about your injuries, hope you heal soon m8
Only 12 weeks to go 🤙
its sick to have reviews from someone a little bigger then the usual board reviews ( Mike's stab reviews being 5 foot tall ) I'm 6'4 92 kg and ride the same foam as you. So thanks for your vids! yew
I should probably make my own RUclips account and not use my misses
@@katiegleeson5281 I was thinking 🤔 that maybe it was a guys DIMs!
😆
Keep ripping bro - awesome review I’m going to get one now the 5’11 tor me. I’m 6foot 78kg.
Thanks mate
Great review Wooly ! thanks. Looks like you had some sweet waves between injuries. Heal up bra
Thanks mate. I’m out for another 12 weeks! 🤙
Cheers Wooly, that's a banger.
Thanks 🙏 🤙
Have this board, love it for SoCal point breaks 3-6 feet
Yeah I bet it loves those waves!
Great review. Wooly is a RIPPER. So Happy Everyday or Lost Rad Ripper? I have the Rad Ripper but it's pretty banged up. I'm looking to replace it with either another Rad Ripper or this Happy Everyday. I plan on surfing it from Chest Hight to about 1.5 times overhead. Thanks!! Get weel soon.
Hi mate. Sorry I haven’t had a Rad Ripper so can’t compare but I did like the Happy Everyday 🤙
Hi Wooly... I'm 6'0 and usually use 29 to 30 liters. What do you suggest (based on my height): HE 5'9 (stock dims) or 5'10 with custom dimensions? Cheers
Im aways about riding the stock DIMs but in this case you could look at a custom so its not so short for you. I rode mine at 6'0" and 0.6L more than my 'normal' 6'1"s
Hey Wooly, do you think the HE would also go well as a round tail?
Yeah it would work fine as a round tail.
Wooly I knew you'd love the C.I 's one you started riding them. You were surfing so well in this footage clearly it worked well for you. How were those barrels 💯🔥🤙🥳..
Think this is my next board cheers from the UK.
This one is a beauty!
Comparison with the OG flyer?Any thoughts. I held both under my arm the other day and the happy everyday felt like the new board coming my way. Copped some cracking waves in that review brother 🤙💙
Hi mate.
I haven’t ridden an OG flyer but the Happy Everyday was a sick board 🤙
Which would you prefer, happy everyday or pyzelian 2 for average beach breaks?
Happy Everyday for sure!
Hey Wooly, loving the vids. Would you ever get this one in the spine tech?
Hi mate, yes I would especially if I was planning to use it in waist to head high waves.
i have that board since several month in spinetek and let me tell you : it's my new magic board ))
Have to agree with your there!
Interesting selection of shapes but CI boards fall apart after 3 months surfing. Too expensive for that fragility. 🤷🏻♂️
Weird, mine have held up really well. Where was yours made?
@@WoolyTV the worst was a neck beard 2 I think made in thailand ? It had an ultralight glassing sticker on it ! It was was so bloody ultralight it was non-existent. Definitely the worst made board I’ve had but it may have been a one off. I haven’t dared chance another. Although I do like the bobby quad looks like a ripper.
@@chrro466 all mine have been out of Onboard in Sydney and they have been long lasting.
@@WoolyTV lesson learnt I only get OZ made boards now 🤷🏻♂️
exactly. ultralight sucks.
Hi Wooly very good surf, Happy everyday or Rocket wild squash, which do you prefer? I'am 6'3 and 210lbs, go 6'2 or 6'3 stock dim? Thanks🙏
Rocket Wide if you surf a lot of smaller, fatter waves. HE will handle a bigger wave with more curve.
Hey mate. Great video as always. One year ago you help me choosing a Dominator 2. I took it in 5'6 / 28L (i'm 5'5, 63kg and intermediate/advanced).
The board paddles well and is really fun and fast, but now I have the feeling that I struggle to bury the rails and carve. It may have too much buoyancy for my weight.
With that in mind, I was looking for something between 26L-27L and more of a performance board. I saw the Lost Sub Driver 2.0 in my hometown surf shop and I liked specially the rails more refined than the D2. But I read a lot of the sub driver bein a less user friendly board than other, like the phantom or other...
So I founded your video on the Happy Everyday... Do you have any thoughts on the comparison between the Sub Driver 2 and the Happy Everyday?
I'm very much looking forward to your thought mate.
Great channel there! Congrats and keep ripping
Hi mate
Sorry I haven’t ridden a Sub Driver so I’m not much help there. Sounds like you could come down in volume.
@@WoolyTV thanks anyway mate. Great channel. Love your sincere reviews!

Hey there Wooly! What's your take on the Happy Everyday vs. JS's MonstaBox 2020?
Thanks!
Very similar mate. Liked them both. Haven’t ridden the new JS Xero Gravity yet and that is the new replacement for the Monsta Box
@@WoolyTV Thanks Wooly! Would you say one would be or is more performance than the other?
@@leilanikaiawelacuesta7771 they both are great boards. I couldnt say one was better than the other. I like the CI as it got a touch bigger, the Monsta Box is a really good all rounder and very hard to beat in most conditions
@@WoolyTV You're a legend mate, thanks!
Sick video Wooly keep it up
🤙🙏🤙
Old man ripping!! 😆 First time viewer and loved your analysis. I’m 6’5 and 88kg and would like a board around 34 or 35 liters. Would a 6’1 be ok with my height or should I up it to 6’2 with the extra volume? I’m coming from wider fish and longer boards but I’ve been missing riding shortboards in good surf🙏
Hi mate, not sure if you have the right clip? Im young.
I would go the 6'2" with the extra volume, you will still be able to throw that around.
@@WoolyTV 😆😆thanks much mate! Keep making the quality videos and forever young!!🙏
This or the JS Xero in chest high to 2' overhead surf?
Thanks Wooly
YEW!!!
Hi mate.
Both very similar boards. Xero grovels a little better and the Happy Everyday went a bit better as it got overhead. 🤙
Wooly are you on a custom…? It’s says 6’1 34.2 but that’s the volume for the stock 6’0
Nah I’m a muppet! It’s a 6’0. I just edited it 🤙. Good pick up
Hi wooly! What’s board fits better in waist to head high wave’s range (weak to medium, with flat section and often mushy ; sorry I live in a place where waves are not the best of the world :p) between CI Rocket Wide 5’11 (34,4l) and HE 6’0 (34,2l) in term of shape, paddling and performance? Just in case, I’m intermediate, 6’0 and 142lbs. Thanks a lot! Great reviews as always!
Hi mate
In smaller, flatter waves I would go the Rocket Wide. The HE will be more performance oriented and will allow you to surf in the pocket more but the RW will carry over dead sections better.
I got the board in the stock 5’10 dims i usually surf around those dims but i’ve been hearing that it’s better to go smaller on these, i’m 6’0 160 pounds im wondering if you think it could be a bit on the bigger end?
I rode this about 1L above my normal boards and it felt great to me.
Bring on the bobby quad!!!! Ripping mate.
I have one and it’s So good!!
I will have to pause the Bobby quad for a couple of months while I heal up! 🤙
I want to buy my first shortboard and I have 2 options, the rocket wide and this happy every day.. what do you recomend me???
That really depends on what waves you ride and your ability but if it’s your first shortboard I would be more inclined to point you towards the Rocket Wide 🤙
@@WoolyTV 🙏🏼 thanks
You looked good on this board!
Thanks. Yeah I liked it.
@@WoolyTV You should try a CI Pod Mod, I am 6'2 and 92Kgs and running a 5'10 and it has been so much fun plus it holds in reasonably solid conditions.
Hey Wooly,
How many inches would u drop from your performance shorty and would you add a litre ?
That’s exactly what this one was for me. An inch or 2 shorter than my performance boards and about a litre more in volume.
How does it compare to the JS Xero??
Very similar. Similar wave range and pocket work. Found the wider tail in the Happy Everyday I had to push it a touch harder than the Xero but both very good boards
I have a Xero-it's pretty good but I'm looking at the Happy Everyday for the dimensions, more volume in a shorter board!
@@WoolyTV Hi Wooly solid reviews.. as above.. the everday and the xero, I like riding these user friendly boards as shortboards.. could they go in 5 foot barreling surf? which one would be better.. no bigger than five foot though as i'd probably ride a step up.. 5 foot as in 2 foot over head set face..
Many thanks
@@christarr9945 Should have gotten the easy ride James then
How you healing up mate? U reckon you can get your hands on the DHD utopia for a review?
Yewwww
Hi mate
Almost back in the water! Days away. Yes I have one on order but after being out of the water for so long I have a massive backlog of boards to get through!
hello
looking for an all round board
Neckbeard 3 Spinetech or Happy Everyday Spinetech, which do you recommend for intermediate players?
Great question, I was thinking the same thing! Something interesting, I'm planning on riding the NB3 as a twin plus trailer. From what I hear it really loosens things up and pivots well. I'm curious to try that setup
Sorry I havent ridden the NB3 as yet so it would be the Happy Everyday!
Ripping! Great review!
Thanks 🙏
Sick vid wooly! Hope you’re healing up. How do you think this compares to the dominator 2? I’m on the east coast US so surfing beach breaks. I’m a bigger guy about 6’5” 210 lbs so looking for a board that I can ride when its chest - slightly overhead. Looking at a 6’4” in both most likely. Let me know your thoughts!
Hi mate
I think both those boards will work in those conditions. I think I preferred the Happy Everyday as it had a good size range of waves that it performed in 🤙
@@WoolyTV right on! Thanks!
Thanks for you great reviews :) I'm currently riding a 5'11 squash rocket wide (34,5L) as a groveller and am looking for a board to surf shoulder to overhead waves with a bit of push (intermediate level, 6'3, 81kg). I'm hesitating between a 6'0 happy every day and a 6'1 Pyzalien 2. How would you compare both boards as daily drivers since you've tested both ?
Hi mate
I would go for the Happy Everyday as it would be an easy transition from the Rocket Wide. I would go for the 6’0” 34.2L that should be perfect for you.
@@WoolyTV thanks !
@@Petepato3 pyzalien 2s are trash I had one.. no good.. no flow sticky and slow.. but i didn't ride with two plus ones..
@@Petepato3 great advice CI all the way really easy to transition between those boards. I didn't rate the pyzalien 2 either personally. Better boards out there for me anyway
hello.i Found second hand monsta box the old version.i never surf ja surfboards.can yiu help me and tell me what the difference between the happy every day to the old monsta box?🎉🎉
The Monsta Box will surf really good from waist high to overhead. Best in chest high to head high waves.
@@WoolyTV thanks
Hi, can I ask which is better for pocket surf, the happy everyday or dominator 2?
Thank you,

Marco Lima
Hmmmmm I think the Happy Everyday.
Thank you for your time
great and honnest review as always.how whould you compere this one to the pyzelian 2 in terms of speed glide and paddeling?🙏
Hi mate, there are pretty similar!
eyal
take the ci
Is this the same sort of board as the JS Xero gravity?
Hi mate
Yes it is a very similar board and both a great boards.
@Wolly TV would you choose the happy every day or the JS xero in easy ride dims as a performance Groveller?
I like both those boards, Xero grovelled better, Happy Everyday went good as the waves got a little bigger and better.
@@WoolyTV I brought a zero easy rider today. Goes sick in 2-3ft so far
Ho how do you compare it vs the flyer? Is the flyer more performance oriented? I am 1.78cm and weigh is 72kg intermediate. Which one to chose? I mainly surf 1 or 2 meters wave
Hi mate
I have never ridden an OG flyer.
For the waves your ride I would go the Happy Everyday.
How well does it duck dive?
10/10 for duck dives
@@WoolyTV laughed so hard woke the wife up 😂

Would you say the JS Xero and Happy Everyday are in similar categories of board? Similar outline etc? Cheers
Yes for sure. Both work in all types of waves from waist high to overhead.
@@WoolyTVwhich one you like more as a step down / small wave performance board, the ci or xero / black box 3?

@@davidavron I haven’t ridden it yet but reports are the new Xero Fusion (update of the BB3) is a beauty for small waves.
@@WoolyTVyeah I heard so too and I do love my bb3. still interested to hear of the ones you rode (bb3 / xero / ci) which you prefer for small surf
Thanks
@@davidavron Xero was better than the Happy Everyday in small surf. But the Xero has been replaced by the newer Xero Fusion and Xero Gravity. The Fusion will be the best one for smaller surf as it’s really and update of the BB3
Hey wooly if you were going to indo would you rather this board or the holy hypto cheers ?
Hi mate
I think the Holy Hypto will handle bigger waves.

Hey Wooly! Love your reviews! Have you tried this is Varial Foam?
No, just in the PU 🤙

Happy everyday vs xero, xero gravity?
Hi mate
Xero Gravity and Happy Everyday have a similar wave range and will both do the job. Xero is better in smaller surf.
I like all of them. HE and XG were both very good boards for me.
Hey , great vid and break down on the board. Have you ridden the Pyzel Mini Ghost to compare against this board. Cheers
Sorry mate I haven’t ridden a Mini Ghost yet 🤙
Comparison to the JS Xero Gravity, similar ride and variety of waves?
Hi mate
Similar wave range. The HE will be shorter for the same volume as the XG. So its wider than the XG, for me the XG Dims suit my height/weight better.
Thanks for the reply, and thanks for your reviews, you’re doing a great job for the industry 🤙🏼
Hey wooly would going spinetek vs pu change the wave range you reckon ?
Hi mate
It would make it go better in grovel for sure.
Legend thanks mate could it still surf the same wave range as the pu ?
@@ryansmith9283 it will surf down better, the PU would out surf the EPS in overhead surf.
Awsome thanks mate if you could pick between the this and zero gravity which would be your daily ?
@@ryansmith9283 they are both epic boards for daily drivers but I think the JS Xero Gravity is just a little better for me!
CI Happy every day? Or Hayden shapes Holy Grail?
Hi mate. For me the Happy Everyday wins.
@@WoolyTV thanks
Is the two happy or ci pro in the pipe line?
Hi mate
I will definitely be doing the CI pro. They look sick
@@WoolyTV I’m thinking about getting one for the ments in august, my daily drivers are usually 5,11-6,0.
I already got a 6,0 monsta 2020 and 6,2 and 6,4 FMN2 I’ll be taking. But looking to take an other 6,0-6,1ish board. Because the crew I’m going with this time will be chasing less big waves. More those 4-8ft conditions.
Keen to hear what you have to say about it.
@@chadsugden411 kick them off your boat :).
The CI pro would be a replacement for a Monsta. If you want to take a smaller wave board you could look at the JS Xero or CI Happy Everyday or even a Rocket Wide.
@@WoolyTV I got. 5.10 Xero already was thinking of maybe getting a Xero gravity as well.
I just can’t bring myself to buy x2 monsters I like trying different stuff lol
@@chadsugden411 the Gravity sits perfectly between the Xero and the Monsta. If I only had a choice of owning 1 board it would be a Gravity for sure. You can surf it in waist high waves and right up to overhead.
how is this one vs Pyzel Phantom
I like this one better than the Phantom. The HE was really versatile.
@@WoolyTV thx for the reply! Can you elaborate a bit?
@@RBNK157 more versatile - big wave range. Surfed in waist high waves but also performed in overhead surf. Phantom needs a bigger wave to get going.
@@WoolyTV thanks mate!
@@WoolyTV one last question, if i want to surf the board only 4+ ft would you still choose the HE ?
@esdubya
Getting older and the associated niggly little injuries that take forever to heal sucks haha. Great review though
