Ingredients
1 cup + 1 tbsp (135g) maida
1 ¼ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp baking soda
5 tbsp (70g) soft salted butter
5 tbsp (70g) oil
1 cup minus 1 tbsp (195 - 200g) granulated sugar, coarsely ground
¾ cup yogurt
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup (50g) shredded dried coconut, coarsely ground
1 - 2 tbsp milk (if necessary)
Yellow, pink, and green colours (optional)

Looks absolutely delicious....sadly you cannot let us taste...perhaps in a couple of years...maybe. I have one question...is it possible to make without adding any colour...I think colour should not affect the taste or texture but I could be wrong. Hi friend, I just saw yr video on this cake recipe with 3 different colors. It is really beautiful. Like to find out whether the sugar used it is too sweet ?
Thanks for your appreciation, Marylim. About the sugar, the proportion is just right. The cake is not too sweet. But if you want the cake to be less sweet, you could reduce the sugar by 10 to 20 per cent.

What,according to you, would give the best flavour-fresh/dry/dessicated coconut, if I have all 3 avlb at home?
Jyotsna, there'll be hardly any difference in the final outcome of the cake. I have made this cake with grated fresh coconut and also with shredded dry coconut and was satisfied with the results both times. But though I have yet to use desiccated coconut, in my opinion, you'll get a similar moist and tasty cake with that as well.

Shireen, thanks a lot for your appreciation. Eggs act as a leavening / raising agent in this cake and also as a binding agent. But they can be replaced to make it an eggless cake. In place of eggs, you'll need to add 1/2 a cup of condensed milk, reduce the granulated sugar content to 130g (1/2 cup + 2 tsp) , and then add a few tbsp of milk, just enough to get a soft dropping consistency. The rest of the ingredients can stay the same.
