I love this pattern! My friend knew that I was learning to crochet and asked if I would be able to make her a top. She sent me some cute patterns she found and I thought this one looked like it was the most at my level of skill. Although it is a learning process for me, this video is making it so easy for me to work on this top! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!

Hi Lesego, I just follow the washing instructions on the yarn labels. If the yarn is machine washable I always use a delicates bag and wash on the gentle cycle. If it's hand wash only, I always make sure to use a good quality wool wash. Either way always make sure you let the items dry flat, don't hang them! I hope this helps, Grace :)
OK OK SO! I wanna make a top BUT idk how to crochet SO what if, JUST WHAT IF, I make a scarf THEN sow the ends together THEN ADD STRAPS WOULD THAT WORKKK!?!?
It’s all good, you can do it! I’ve only been crocheting for about a year or two now and I started out watching beginner videos. I don’t know if you’re just starting out or if you’ve been crocheting for awhile but it’s still pretty handy to watch beginner videos to get the basic stitches down 👍 I have to go back and watch them sometimes just to get the hang of whatever I’m doing, best of luck to you!
First of all, thank you so much for your wonderful tutorial! I'm an absolute beginner and I now finish my first project- this crop top. But I have a big problem- I measured the fullest upper of my body and now that I tried to wear the crop top- I realized it turned out super small and doesn't even close to fit me. I used a yarn- 55% cotton and 45% PAC. maybe this is the problem? it's not stretchy at all. I'm going to start all over and I wanted to ask if I will increase the scope to a much bigger one you think it will work? thank you again.
Hi Maya, if you check out the blog post (linked in the description!) you can find out how to get the top to perfectly fit you. You want to start with creating enough stitches to fit around your upper bust and then test to see if it will stretch to fit around your bust measurement before you join the ends to form a ring. If the foundation chain its long enough add more stitches. Also using a stretchy yarn makes it a lot easier to get the right fit! Acrylic is get to start out with as a beginner as cotton has a lot less stretch so there is less room for error. I hope this helps!
This is so cute! This is my first garment crochet project and I've been having trouble with the foundation chain always twisting, I was wondering if this is just a problem in joining (I swear I get it all straight, laid out flat and lined up!) or could it be in actually making the chain?
Hi Gina, when joining the chain I highly recommend placing it on a flat surface i.e. a desk, table or pillow, placing a book or something heavy in the centre to hold the chain in place and then connecting the two ends together. This really helps with the chain twisting. It's also completely normal for your chain to naturally twist as you're making it, so don't worry! After you've crocheted for a bit, your stitches will get more even, your chain will be flatter and you'll find it easier to join things together. I hope this helps, Grace :)
I'm sorry for being not that good at English. How many rolls of wool does this shirt need? and what wool is ? Thank you for this information.I love your croptop😍
I'm so excited to make this! I have a question can you make a kids shirt? I would really love a kid shirt because my little sister would really like a shirt. Can you please make a kid shirt I'm 7-year-old and my 5-year-old sister would like a kid shirt
Thanks Kelseigh! I'd recommend trying on the top and then measuring the length for your straps. If you don't have a measuring tape just use a piece of yarn and then measure it with a ruler :) I'd then crochet straps that are about 3cm/1" shorter than your measurement since they will stretch out over time! I hope this helps, Grace :)
Hi, I'm 3 rows in (increased to 90 stitches) and it's a tight fit around the overbust. I am planning to work around this by reducing tension, and flipping the top over (placing the foundation crochet at the waist). Will that do? Or should I also increase more? I'd really want to avoid starting over :-(( thank you!
I agree you should have more subscribers also....you are awesome.....very professional done video I am now a fan..... I just subscribed!!! I will be make this top! Thanks for the video!💜
I'm at the part where you add the straps and i tried it on. ehhh..... i mean it's easy to get in but i can't get out anymore :/ I don't know what i did wrong I'm really disappointed bc it took me 3 days to finish and now I'm not able to wear it without shutting off my blood by trying to get it off.
@@ChillaaVillaaa yes me too, opened up the last one (took an hour or so to untie the knots) & chain 115 this time. The upper bust measurement would be like 90, and it fits technically around the fullest part but i noticed that the wool tightens somehow during the crocheting. Maybe the stiches are to tight, but i don't get what i'm doing wrong...
Hi there! I’ve made about 5 rows and I’ve noticed that the yarn has turned and won’t make a straight line anymore. Is there any way to rectify the situation apart from starting over? 😭
It was sad, but I just went back to the foundation chain and then checked constantly that it wasn’t turning. I would try hold it straight while I was working. I finished the top and it’s lovely! Good luck 🌸🌈
Hello ! I love your videos so I am trying to make one for my sis in law. But she lives far away so I can't really measure her to fit. Her chest is 33.5" so should I try making large or medium ? I can't really measure the gap too. So what should I do to fit her , please? Her shoulder is about 15.5". And she is about 5'7" tall.
Absolutely love this! I have a question though... I don't quite understand (I also read your blogpost) how to increase if there is a gap. After Round one (the foundation single crochet round) I have to make as many 2SC as the gap has centimeters, okay but how do I go on after this second round? Does this mean I just increase in one round and after this one all rounds are increased the same? Example: Foundation round 84 stitches, all the other rounds 90 stitches (?). I hope you understand my question. Thanks for your help!
Hi Andrey, if you're foundation stitches don't meet I'd suggest adding more until they meet (remember that its ok for the stitches to stretch out over your bust measurement). That way you don't need to increase :) If you want to increase, following your example - you want to add 6 stitches, so in round 2 I'd space out 6 sets of 2SC in the same stitch = you'd have 90 sts, and then in all following rounds place 1SC in each st (you'll still have 90 sts). I hope this helps! Grace :)

I am planning to work around this by reducing tension, and flipping the top over (placing the foundation crochet at the waist). Will that do? Or should I also increase more? I'd really want to avoid starting over :-(( thank you!
hello! im planning to crochet this top (my sis wants it), how many grams of yarn did u end up using?
Great job 👍 love it looks amazing 👌
So if you want to make the ruched crop top do. U have to increase
Really like it 😍 imma make it soon
can i use a regular foundation chain
So cute ❤i love it
so cute!!!! thank you!!!
Thanks for watching :)
Is this possible with sleeves? I'm conscious of my armpits
If that pfp is you you're stunning omg and I'm so jealous of your hair
What a great tutorial! Thank u
Do we slip stitch after every round and not chain one but only slip stitch then turn?
You're amazing, thank you!
Gram of your yarn you used?
Thanks for teaching
This is amazing.I love it!
By the way,How many yarns did you use?
I agree you should have more subscribers also....you are awesome.....very professional done video I am now a fan..... I just subscribed!!! I will be make this top! Thanks for the video!💜
Thanks for subscribing! I can't wait to see the finished piece!
Same! I thought i was the only one🤦♀️
@@emilialowe5709 i just gave up and tried another one😅
@@ChillaaVillaaa yes me too, opened up the last one (took an hour or so to untie the knots) & chain 115 this time. The upper bust measurement would be like 90, and it fits technically around the fullest part but i noticed that the wool tightens somehow during the crocheting.
Maybe the stiches are to tight, but i don't get what i'm doing wrong...
@@emilialowe5709 it was the same for me! I chained more at the beginning and now it's kinda too lose on me :( it's really frustrating
@@ChillaaVillaaa :( ...why is this so easy for everyone else😪
Спасибо👌👌👌👌Отличная идея❤❤❤🍓🍓🍓🎄🎄🎄
If the top is not for you how many stitches from middle do you place the strapes?
Wicha kind of yarn do you use for crochet
waw ur a very good teacher
Wow beautiful
Can I make this with a thinner yarn?
Does it have to be worsted weight yarn? Or can it be any yarn?
Is the slip stitch at the end of the row counted to the total number of stitches?
Grace :)
Thank you Grace! :)
