*IMPORTANT* For those trying to make this pattern, don't make the same mistake I made in the beginning. For the rows where you make the moss stiches e.g. rows 1+2, 5+6 etc. DO NOT add a chain before the last single crochet you make! If you have a closer look at the stiches in the video, there are 2 single crochets side by side and no chain in-between. In other words, there is not a chain added after a single crochet like the previous stiches. This will mess up the next row of stitches if you add a chain. Row 1: When you reach the last 9 stiches in the row, make a single crochet without a chain and then another single crochet (again without a chain). Then proceed to make slip stiches in the last 7 stiches. Row 2: When you reach the last 6 stiches, make two single crochets without a chain like above. Proceed to make slip stitches in the last 4 stiches. *Basically, just make sure that the last two single crochet you make do not have a chain in-between them.* Luckily I spotted this quickly as I noticed a problem in row 2. Hope this helps others.

i'm confused too. i'm not sure if that's 5ply or 8ply 😣, i bought 5ply and tried 38 single crochet but it did not reach 9 inches. I also tried 38 single crochet with an 8ply yarn.. it reached the 9 inches measurement... but the yarn in the vid looks so 5 ply.. idkkk huwaaa
@@laramoffie219 I think too that she used between 4ply or 5ply. But you said you tried and get the right measurement when you use 8ply, have you used the same size of hook? Either way, maybe we'll just have to adjust, add chains or loosen them and experiment so we can get our desire size of projects. Goodluck on making one!

I started over and over again three times because I couldn't get the patterns quite right. Then I decided to write down the pattern of each row with details of how certain stitches are done. I have the copy in front of me every time I crochet. I've made around 5 inches so far and it looks like I'm on the right track.
how come each row i do, the length increases? i even put a stitch marker at the start of each row, but it looks like it is increasing :( please help me

my row 5 dont have 8 last sts its always 9 even if i follow your instruction carefully, like i repeat again and again and always turn 9 sts.

make sure you have an even number of chains when you start! for example: chenda has 38 chains, I made 46 instead.
