10mm edc all day. if you can carry why wouldn’t you it’s a pocket rocket for sure . 10mm is way more effective then 9mm regardless of bullets one shot of 10mm gonna work compared to dumping your 10 rd mag of 9mm into someone to stop them. trained individuals gonna want no recoil but what the use of you gotta put multiple shots in someone risking hitting someone else then shooting once and getting the job done. i know ppl worship the 9mm but if you got something that’s got that power and still small package and capacity to a 9mm carry it.
If you can shoot 10mm well from a compact firearm like this effectively go ahead truth is most people absolutely cannot, even people who shoot a lot handguns are hard enough to master as it is, also it should be said that with 10mm ammo choice is very important you must be very picky cause it can easily over penetrate if you don’t invest in effective self defense ammo
@@oldrabidus2230I was about to say the same thing. My partner have the 20. Ain’t no way I could carry that comfortably, daily. I have a G29 G4. I cc my G33 G4.
My edc is the 29. I recently had the slide cut and a Holosun scs put on it. The addition has made a major difference. For me it's now the perfect carry gun. 10mm is a devastating round, one that I'd much rather have on me at all times.
I carry my 10mm Glock 29 all the time in Connecticut. Limited to 10 round restricted capacity so I want maximum damage done. I’m not a giant by any means but the gun shoots softly for me with 180 grain Underwood. Follow ups are not a problem either. When all the thugs have their nines I’ve got something that will create a larger wound channel and penetrate deeper and that is what stops the threat. Also, grip and trigger control is paramount with any gun. When that type of stress hits you you’re not going to be worried about recoil.
I mean if you could I would order a glock 20 15 round magazine. Then order an X-grip to put on the extended mag. Then put 10 rounds in there instead of 15 if y’all can do that. It gives the gun way more grip.
@Likta Liktits I know you don’t need it but that’s what I recommend. I got the whole thing plus some pro grip tape. Grip is another level at this point.
Not sure why so many channels talk about this huge recoil issue with a 10mm. Maybe it’s an individual thing but I have no issues with 10mm or follow up shot accuracy. I cc a G29 daily and train with it. I also have a Sig p365XL that I really like. But the slide mass on the G29 helps manage recoil to the point that for me, it’s negligible between the two pistols. Everyone’s mileage may vary.
It probably has decent recoil (I don't really know though - as I don't own one) - but there's powerful revolvers that certainly recoil more... It's most likely manageable.
Same here. If you compare a Glock 20 to a Glock 21 head to head, there is very little noticeable difference in felt recoil. I believe people tend to exaggerate recoil and penetration when talking about the 10 mil.
10mm is probably the most versatile auto pistol cartridge you can get. Loads run the gamut from duplicating .45 ACP and .40 S&W performance, both in "mild" loadings or full power ones in those calibers. Or if you want go to full power 10mm defensive loads. Some may consider them to be "excessive", but as I type this I am carrying my G29 SF Gen 3, loaded with Sig V-Crown 180 gr bullets. I also carry Hornady 180 gr XTP. I've even shot a deer with that Hornady round. With good hard cast (Buffalo Bore) it makes a fantastic handgun to carry where there is a four legged animal threat like bears. Mine takes 2 trips each year to Alaska. It does have more recoil than a 9mm, but it recoils less than a Glock 27 shooting defensive 40 S&W loads. And the Glock 27 was, for a while, considered the ultimate concealed carry/off duty firearm. So I have to disagree with your assumption that you can't shoot it as fast or as accurately as you can a 9mm. It's all about trigger time and rounds downrange.
I personally love the Glock 29. One of my favorite handguns. The amount of firepower you have with the flush mag is unparalleled in a gun of this size. It is still a compact and can actually be carried in a large pocket, but handles almost like a full size gun. It also feeds and tolerates +p+ loads. With 10+1 rounds of heavy buffalo bore or underwood hard cast ammo it’s like having 11 rounds of 44 mag power in a concealable package. When I lived in the Northwest and spent a lot of time in bear country this was my go to carry gun for the woods. For urban areas I do like the 26 but the 29 is still a practical option. Just an all around great 10mm.
I got my Glock 29 a few months ago and love it. Regardless of the size and weight of it, it is a solid beauty to carry. I fell in love with the 10mm round 17-years-ago when I got a Smith & Wesson 1006 and had to pay bills so that had to be sold. I carry a Sig p320 9mm on duty and sport the Glock 26 and 43x off duty. I felt I need something better for EDC so G29 it is. I carry it with a 15 round magazine if it's just strolling around without a backpack or sling. If I have the sling I carry 2 10 round mags with it and that is sufficient. I know people will tell you that 9mm with certain grains will do the trick and argue in circles about it---but 10mm is the round of the selected few.
Now I do wish s&w would come out with a shield in 10mm. Same size as the 45. 7-8+1 rds. That would be amazing. Cause my g29 is great. But she is thick. 10mm all day. Rock island tac ultra FS Hc the best 10mm. 16rd 2011 style. Threaded barrel. MOS. Trigger the best. But that’s full size.
What is the magazine extension that is added to the magazine in your video? It appears to the Pearce Grip extension for the Glock 30. But the current version of the Pearce Grip extension for the G29 is different (smaller and shaped differently). I have a Glock 30s and have several of the Pearce Grip extensions, and would love to have some for the Glock 29. If they are the extension for the G30, will they fit on the G29 magazines? I would think they would be too wide. Please advise. Thanks.
There’s a whole lot of bear down there in Tennessee. But the 29 is bigger in every direction for edc compared to the 26. I’d agree. My local gun shop employee carries a 29 though with 2 extra mags!!
YESS! I love my g29. Carry civil defense 60gr hollow points for carry 2400fps with 780fpe. It’s amazing. Recoil isn’t bad at all either. I run a +2 baseplate for a full grip. And that ammo is no more recoil than my 40 or a hot 9mm. And best thing I can go all the way to 220gr if I want. 10mm best handgun caliber. Even with my backup 135gr underwood hollow point it’s nice to control. 10mm all day.
He is correct. Look at gel tests. The vast majority of the round breaks apart. 6” of gel penetration is not 6” in a person. I purchased those rounds and sold them when I learned the truth. The best thing you can get is jacketed hollow points.
@SPN could you please give us a video comparing the size of the Glock 26 Gen 3 and the Glock 26 Gen 5. The other guns you did a size comparison but not these 2. I watched your current videos with those weapons. Which one is bigger?
Love that little stocky g29 10mm real don't feel that's it's to much as far as recoil like alot of people claim for EDC people carry 357, 45 acp, 44 spec whatever floats your boat. Pretty much along the lines of 357 mag a proven 1 shot man stopper I thought.
The recoil on 10mm isn't that stout. It feels like 9mm+P and you can shoot it fast and accurate. 9mm is lethal but against people on drugs it doesn't always instantly disable.
9mm also generally gives you a lot of shots in small handguns so even against someone on meth you can have something like a sig p365 with a 15rd magazine where with a full-size handgun you can get like 20+ rounds
I think it’s all about what works for you I have huge hands and I manage recoil very well so the 29 is great for me even when firing fast follow ups but it’s all about what you like

I use my G29 for when I’m fishing in the sierras and need a legally concealed 10mm against potential black bears, yet I don’t want others to see that I’m carrying. During big game hunting season, I open carry a Glock 20 on my hip or in a chest holster.
Prefer 29SF every time as a seasoned veteran Turkey hunter in the Spring and have encountered adult bears 4 different times with no issues and hope that continues. the view of 9mm for hood and 10 mm for woods makes some since although if I had to choose one it would be the 29SF.
You’re not looking for how many shots with a 10mm, because you only need one hit to bury a 9mm. This round was invented by the FBI after the 90’s bank robbery in Florida. So it’s sole purpose was to be a one shot show stopper , unlike a 9mm.It’s was created to have an over-powering advantage over criminals.
The 10mm has been out for a while, yet everyone still uses 9mm including law enforcement and the military. Why? Because it’s better. A 10mm shot is not going to “bury” a 9mm shot. It’s a 1mm difference in diameter with a major capacity limitation
I carry a Glock 29 as my EDC. But your 100% correct when I shoot my 19x I can shoot faster and more accurate. I’m a big dude 6’2 230lbs and let me tell you that 29 barks.
If you have a lot of Hogs in your area, this is an excellent pistol to carry. This is more of a winter weather pistol, if you want to conceal carry. Probably not the best choice for Florida summer, when it's very hot and humid, and you really don't want to be carrying a heavy pistol all day.
If I knew for a fact I was going to be in a life or death situation and I only had a pistol then I would choose a 10mm. In a real life situation the first shot often decides the outcome. It would most likely be a 6-10ft fight against a single attacker. I want that first shot to inflict maximum damage to stop the fight. For 20yrs I daily carry a G29 with a 15rd mag X-Grip along with 2 extra in a Galco Miami classic. The 2 mags help balance the weight and is extremely comfortable. Would a compact 9mm be more comfortable? Absolutely. However, I’m counting on that to save my life. Your mileage may very. Peace.
It makes sense for edc (low power loads +/- .40 s&w equivalent) and for outdoors animal protection (scorching hot .41 magnum equivalent) if you only want 1 pistol to do it all.
I think the issue with carrying a 10mm is the over penetration. That round is a bear defense (i think lol). So it'll probably swim through a human target. It is moving fast af 😂 that's why ill take big bubba (the g30). But that's me.
That 10mm would be better for a campaign or going into the woods or just being outside cause you never when a beer might come out of no where. I would stick with the 9mm also.
10mm is the best millimeter. If you can shoot it well then yes carry it. Huge power great for winter carry/ wilderness carry. I would carry at least the G20 for the woods though. Personally I use my G40 for that role. I’m afraid of bears! 🐻 🪦
I actually have found it very easy to hit targets quickly with my 29. My EDC is the Kimber Micro 9 and the Glock is just faster if using both hands because it is just that much heavier. Also doesn't eject cases back into your face. I don't carry it primarily because I live in a very warm state and it is hard to comfortably concealed carry something the size of a Glock 19 in public.
I pocket carry this firearm almost every day. Here in MA, 10 rounds is the limit. I use the pierce grip extention of the 10 rd mag. It makes it just big enough that I can still get a full purchase on the gun. Otherwise, my pinky does not fit. This gun is not for everyone. Big hands are a necessity. My wife can't even get her hand around the grip. My hands are large enough to palm a basketball, This gun works great for me.
My next EDC will be the 29 Gen 5 and I don't really care what ppl say. Not saying my EDC Hellcats not a good gun but having that Lil extra punch 👊 is nice. I hunt too so.... 😅😅😅
The ol’ debate of capacity v power. Each with a strength and weakness. Carry whatever gun you can hit where you aim. Faster is always better. Or train with your 10, carry your 9. 9 will feel like a toy after extensive 10mm practice.
Speaking of shot placement… I carry a 380 which is better then 9mm I think for all the same reasons you named vs a 10mm. What do you think about that tough guy? 😎
I really want a 10m for edc but all I see is people crapping on the idea for various reason mainly it being too big for conceal carry. I don’t want a small hand gun. Idc about printing at all. I recently went and shot the g40 and fell in love past two days been doing research I’m at point in saying F it and carry g40 or g20.
I carry a Glock 20 I’m only 5/7 150 pounds and I wanted a big gun I absolutely love it it feels hella comfortable in my pocket in my holster it’s good fam especially if u can pull it out and get 2hands on it quickly I seen people get shot by 9 and still able to pull ther gun out and shoot it ifu shoot somebody with a ten mm they will drop especially if somebody chasing u the stoping power is nice
Carrying certain pistols may not always make sense to everybody but carrying certain pistols for the rest of us makes sense to us so why worry about it
I’ve lived in East TN my entire life. We have a ton of black bear & boar, you wouldn’t really need to carry a 10mm for a black bear most the time they’re fairly easy to scare off. But boar tho, lol well they’re a different story, you can’t go wrong w’ a 10mm in the scenario where you stumble across one of those aggressive bastards.

@@spnfirearmsbecause LE and Police don’t care the best they carry the cheapest round that’s effective enough they don’t wanna spend the money to convert to 10mm

This guy seems clueless when it comes to Glock 29 for edc. I can shoot my Glock 29 as fast as I can shoot my G17 and G19. Also that G29 is super accurate 👌🏽 🎯

@@alienwarex51i3tell em cause he don’t know wtf he talking about😂
How are you gonna carry a full size if the 29 don't work for you?
I carry a Glock 29 as my EDC. But your 100% correct when I shoot my 19x I can shoot faster and more accurate. I’m a big dude 6’2 230lbs and let me tell you that 29 barks.
Lol, great life qoute.
What’s the update??
Peace.
The Glock 40 (10mm) is King of the Woods guns.
Picking up my 29 tomorrow 🎉
Do revolvers jam?
I really like my 10mm 3.8 Springfield Armory but for every day carry I would say no I like my 40S&W
Yessir! Respect!
I used to Carry redhawk Alaskan 454 Chambered in 45 long Colt in my store, i never believed in 9mm the bigger the caliber the safest I'll feel.
My G29 with a 15 round modified magazine now holds 20 rounds. Nasty.
I carry it and I love it.
That 10mm would be better for a campaign or going into the woods or just being outside cause you never when a beer might come out of no where. I would stick with the 9mm also.
Yes exactly! Agreed
Yea 29 definitely better for campaign mode
I dont like using it in multiplayer
Bears fat is too thick. Most of the time even 10mm will just het stuck in the fat. I live in Alaska
@@Itzbrady_ you have to use lead hardcast for maximum effectiveness
9mm you need multiple shots that’s because the cartridges week
Yes for fall and winter carry.
Respect
10mm is the best millimeter. If you can shoot it well then yes carry it. Huge power great for winter carry/ wilderness carry. I would carry at least the G20 for the woods though. Personally I use my G40 for that role. I’m afraid of bears! 🐻 🪦
10mm will blow through soft body armor and a lot of people in the hood are wearing those wonder bullet proof hoodies
XDM Elite 3.8 10mm is the way to go when it comes to 10mm!
I carry a g29 when im out with the family and it is one hell of a gun. I tend to be more accutate with 10mm than 9mm.
I already have the Glock 30 45acp. But my edc is my fn5.7🙏🏽
u should carry your 30 instead. fn a novelty
Slap Talon Grips on dat 10 and carry all the time....Hood and Woods....and dont forget the $8 plus2 extension bringing you to 12+1...
edc bc .40 run 40 cal through it for edc and 10mm in the woods
Here something you didn’t know 10 mm is almost the same par factor as a 41 Magnum. and with the 10 you only need one shot😊
I agree 100 percent man
Respect!
10mm is for bears etc in the woods..9,40 or 45 are best for concealed carry and will do the job 😉
Yes exactly!
Yes 💯 facts 😃
10mm for a human is overkill
Dude just say you don't train enough.
Speaking of shot placement… I carry a 380 which is better then 9mm I think for all the same reasons you named vs a 10mm. What do you think about that tough guy? 😎
Lmao really? This is RUclips. Calm your tough guy talk, you are on the internet. I carry .380 all of the time lmao. Depends on what I’m doing that day
You can also shoot 40 cal out of too as I'm sure you're aware.
What is that mag extension ?
I actually just got it off eBay so I don’t remember the actual brand!
I have a 10 mm glock . It is one of most accurate arms I have ever fired. I would have to say ,that maybe , that maybe the twenty nine
💯% agree
Does 10mm have more recoil than 45acp?
Oh yeah, .45 is pretty smooth to shoot. 10mm you just feel the power
10mm and .44 magnum for barrier penetration
Stay in your skill level.
What's the difference between the "SF" and NON "SF"?
Width of the grip from back to front. SF = "small frame". Its stlighly smaller than standard Glock grip.
@@tedbartley1358 Thanks for the info! 👍👍
10mm is a shoot once and stop the threat gun. 9mm is a good SD gun; but after 5 rounds.
10mm can go through some soft plates
All you need in a 10 one shot g 😈
I like to carry my g20L concealed
Haha good luck!
@@spnfirearms been doing it for 2 years, just a bitch finding good holsters
If you have man hands/wrists/arms the 29 is a pussycat to shoot.... just a lil loud
If you understand self defense encounters and technology with 9mm then you would realize it doesn’t make sense my man. Why doesn’t the military or police use 10mm?
@@spnfirearmsbecause LE and Police don’t care the best they carry the cheapest round that’s effective enough they don’t wanna spend the money to convert to 10mm
You are over thinking it. Carry what you like.
10mm for the woods 5.7 ruger for the hood
why 5.7
I actually prefer 9mm too in almost every environment! For everyday carry I have a glock 43x with a holosun red dot.
But what you think about .30 Super Carry? Im about to buy a gun chambered in .30 SC
I haven’t tried it to be honest! I am a 9mm fan except for the woods.
.30 super carry is less powerful then 9mm & even harder to come across. So good luck feeding it especially in a SHTF scenario.
@@RebornRoyalty4L Well I’m kinda used to it, since I can barely find 5.7x28 for my FN. But even then it’s fasten and less recoil than the 9mm since it’s smaller, lighter. I’m still rooting for 9mm tho!
@@bloodbrothersYM
Should always consider how universal your armory is incase you have to replace parts or find ammo in desperate circumstances. Otherwise Guns are paper weights.
@@RebornRoyalty4L Although I agree w/ your sentiment about SHTF, he can have a 9mm for that situation and still get a 30 Super Carry to CCW lol.
Same size is a 30 might even be the same frame just different caliber🤔🧐
You already in Tennessee? This video was 10 months ago
No I’m not! Not yet. I visit my family out there but I haven’t moved yet!
@@spnfirearms one more thing I heard you say in one of your videos that Lucas tactical was the best place for frames I need a 43x frame so I can slap it on my 43 and basically have two guns for half the price
Any particular reason that you're moving to Tennessee? Adn are you currently living in Michigan? @@spnfirearms❤️🤍💙
10mm like a 9mm, but for men
It’s not a EDC round at all it was literally cut from police use because they couldn’t pass tests
Then why did you buy it?
Woods carry for the bears in my area.
I carried a .45 as an LEO for 20 years so I can shoot a 10MM no problem. It all about time on the range bud.
The 29 is a gen 4, i dpmt think u mentioned that
No it’s not, it’s a gen 3 sf
If you carry 12 o'clock appendix, you can carry the biggest fattest gun you want. Even with a small firearm you can't bend or sit down so wtf.
I carry the 3 o'clock position, so my options are more limited....but my comfort is maximized. Summer heat gets me down to micro 9s.
A gun that can shoot 2 types of ammo is a deallllllll 🤷🏻♂️
This guy seems clueless when it comes to Glock 29 for edc. I can shoot my Glock 29 as fast as I can shoot my G17 and G19. Also that G29 is super accurate 👌🏽 🎯
Oh yeah? Why doesn’t every leo, armed forces and 99% of everyone who Carry’s carry 10mm my man?
@@spnfirearms Because of ammo pricing, magazine capacity and gun concealment issues.
The recoil on the G29 is very manageable. I'm 5'9 , 190 lbs. No issues with follow up shots. Everyone claims the 10mm and 357 mag are too hot to handle. Stop repeating what the gun writers say. It's entertainment, not the gospel.
True, it sounds like the "men" who comment things like these on 10mm recoil have girl arms. If they can't handle 10mm recoil they should consider switching the soy for some meat and hitting the gym 3 times a week.
I carry it everyday
