This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list ruclips.net/user/postUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.
Video was super helpful. Our last home had a remote, the gas logs at our new house didn’t come with one. I feel like I’ve stepped back in time having to physically light my gas logs again after 20 years, Spoiled yes! Thanks for the help!
Thank you so very much for posting this vid. Today I was determined to do this myself and not pay a plumber! A prayer and your vid saved my day! Blessings to you and yours.🙏🏽
Thanks so much for this video. I had trouble every time I would try to lite my logs. I was putting the pilot at 12 instead of 3 o'clock position. You are a life saver.
Great video, can I leave the main gas valve open at all times? If so, can I also leave the fireplace in the on position? I have an on/off switch as well that I would love to be able to just switch on/off to start my fireplace and not turning knobs. Thanks.
My pilot was on, nothing else was happening. I went to turn the blower on just to mess with it and theres a switch next to it. I flipped it and the big flames came on. Its new, Id never used it so I didnt know it had a switch. Does this switch shut off and on the flow of gas then? Also blower is on but it doesnt seem to be doing anything. I wonder if i need to unscrew and open the little trap door above the fire?
@@briaunamcknight-sykes7337 The wall switch? Just like turn on the light. The wall switch and the switch of the burner unit inside the fireplace actually form a series circuit, in my case.
Ours has glass on the front but when we use the fireplace the glass gets super hot, are we supposed to remove the glass before using it? FAK-1500 is our model. We recently bought this house and don’t have manuals on this gas fireplace.
I don't want to sound stupid but you didn't say turn the gas on or the fans/switches that might be associated with lighting a fireplace. I have had trouble with mine being, scared to use it because if you don't do it right the alarms in your house can go off. Somehow there needs to be a service where we are showed how to use these beneficial old tools that have been forgotten, a lot of people grew up with out alternative sources of heat.
All these other videos talk about having some battery back up under the unit, but the Superior DV 600 series doesn't have that with a wall switch power to the unit. Just curious does or if the unit will work if the power goes out?
Pilot light won't "stay on". Was told thermocoupler is bad. Anyone know what type I NEED? My "handyman" threw my old one away! UGH!! Please help!!!!!!!!
Hi, is this natural gas? I installed something similar and the flame looks just like this but I am concerned about the "yellow tipping" that the manual talks about. is that considered yellow tipping? not sure if it is dangerous or not, it states that there could be carbon monoxide with yellow tipping. please answer, thank you!
Lit my gas fireplace for the first time in our new house. Set off the smoke alarm but I didn't see any smoke? Any idea why or if this is normal? Worried now.
If it is a vent free set then it could just be because there was dust on the log set and it was burning off that is why it set the alarms off. with vent free sets you also want to make sure that the logs are in the correct position. if they aren't then they set will malfunction and create carbon monoxide. the dust should burn away after 20-30 mins of use. If it is a vented set then make sure you have the damper open. Vented sets produce carbon monoxide and if used with the damper closed can be deadly.
My gas fireplace is similar to this one but has a chimney and a damper... should the damper be open or closed when the fireplace is on?? Im nervous bc I dont want gas in my house.

thanks so much for this. just got a new home and wasn't sure how to get the fireplace going.
God bless you, we bought a house and I couldn't light the fireplace, but your video helped me.

My pilot been burning over 5 mins and it still hasn’t came on. What should I do
Same issue here.
I got it. Check if there is a wall switch nearby. You need to switch it to on.
@@huangshiyang121 how did you switch it to on?

Heater is very warm and looks great and also has a nice comfortable and relaxing feel when the flames are on. Very satisfied with purchase.

I have similar fireplace but my burner just burns plain orange. I’d like to see the blue flames burning. Not sure where do I start?
Can you light this with a lighter it won’t light
How do you open the damper? I haven’t found any latch to open/close.

Thank you! I’m in a new home and couldn’t figure out this fireplace....the key is the 3 o’clock!
Is it ok for the flame to be all blue in a gas fireplace?
Best explanation! Thank you

The level of help from this video....wow thanks.

Do you always leave the main gas line valve on?
Looking for this answer as well

How do you add the volcanic rocks to it. Do I just spread them under the logs
the lava rock should only be on the 3 sides of the burner (left right and front) Never on the burner itself
how do you program the remote
Does this work if the power goes out?
you can light without power but the blower unit if you have one won't work, you will need a alternate power source.
When it comes to a gas fireplace what does it mean when the flame is blue 🔷instead of gold 🔶🔥?
Blue flame means it is working properly. Gold/red means not enough air. Adjust the air shutters on it.
The flame won’t start
I wish I could send you a picture or video.

Melissa Villatoro you should have it open when you are using your fireplace
Rodriguez Russell... thank you! 🙄
