The Zenfone is crazy. I have the Zenfone 9 and the battery life is ridiculously good. I don't know what they're doing, but other manufacturers need to take lessons.
I wish the zenfone was better supported by American carriers. I've heard it works with T-mobile, but it's not great. Otherwise I would jump on this phone right away.
Even considering the 1080p display and the 4300mAh battery, the Zenfone 10 destroyed the rivals. The rest were as expected and basically performed to their battery capacities, but none were amazing. Whereas the Zenfone rose above them. How do they achieve these SOTs? I assume they run YT and Chrome on the efficiency cores rather than a mix-and-match, which is sensible as we only really need a little performance for these two simple tasks. OnePlus also does this. All would be solid for the average compact user as most do not need excellent battery life; my S23 lasts 2-3 days with 1-2 hours SOT per day.

the sony xperia 5 V would also be pretty interesting in a test like this, i wonder if the sony with its 5000mah battery can beat the zenfone 10. Honestly those to right now are my absolute favourite compact phones at the moment and cost about the same here in Germany.
I would really like to see an idle battery test. I saw a report that mentioned huge battery drain on the S24 when idling. One idea to measure this would be to watch the internet router to see when the smartphones are no longer connected to the wifi.

Zenfone 10 and Pixel 8 don't have uniform bezels so they're DOA. And for people that are going to go "pixel 8 has uniform bezels" no it doesn't. It's thinner than the Pixel 7, but the chin at the bottom is thicker than the other 3 sides. Reply
I would actually argue that the Zenphone is an all rounder. Great performance, software, cameras, and battery. The only problem is updates, but I don't really care
A little suggestion. Put the processor name alongside the phone. Makes it easier to know if its snapdragon or exynos in samsung phones

S24 used in this test is Exynos. Read review on their website, they mentioned that they reviewed Exynos 2400 version.

nah, those SOT are impossible to get, not even on safe mode, no cell connection, only wifi and lowest brightness. my P8 only gets 5hrs with mix usage.
I think the S24 did well, because he has more screen and less battery than the Pixel and the ZenFone.
