What I'd love to see as a mod is something that adds fantasy races as your main villagers, and have it fluctuate as your grow and get families coming into your village.
Played the small beta they had last year. Cannot wait for this game to come out.

day and night cycle would look amazing with all the small torches and chimneys, wouldnt be possible though, the days go by too fast haha, weather effects already make it nice in a similar way
Dev could add a purely cosmetic day-night cycle, doesn't have to align with the days.

Looks like a much better version of a game I used to play from time to time called "Medieval Lords: Build, Defend, Expand". I love that game, even though it is very seriously flawed. You could make some awesome villages and town with it! The paths were largely freeform, though you could lay them down and make them work for you.

A "manor lord" isn't really specific a title or rank. Pretty much any landowning noble was a type of manor-lord, every lord owned a manor of some sort.
@@greyfells2829 I know. I was pointing out the real landed title. If you owned any land you were a lord. Hence the modern term "landlord".
I have a mod for this game where all my villagers start out with fallout Laser Rifles. It really helps us defend our land from the riff raff.

It's a village management game with small-scale battles, but there's no RPG or player combat element to it at all.
The only similarity between the two games is the medieval setting. Otherwise, they have zero overlap.

The dynamic / organic plotting system is what really shines in this game. And something I expected from Cities Skylines 2... but that game was just one big disappointment...
I'm just sad Media calls it revolutionary when it's been in this genre for years now via eg Ostriv

Originally yes then they got huge amounts of hype and hooded horse as a publisher now it’s a semi small team
@@brycehoward4139 happy to know that the guy which started the project is getting support from the publisher, I like that a solo developer and a semi small publisher team can make a game into early access in 4 years and make it without many bugs with decent content but the biggest studios in the world develop some buggy trash of a game that costs 60$ and will be playable in 3 years

the total war franchise gunna change allot after this game releases, change in that franchise is needed and manor lords was made by ONE GUY! so the triple A industry has no excuses as to why this wasn't a thing earlier. i also wish it was coop, my partner and i would LOVE to play this together, i would handle military mostly and she would handle the economy and town building.
The problem with turning total war more like this is that not everyone wants to build cities and especially not multiple cities.
Personally I'd hate a total war structured like this as a turn takes long enough as it is let alone with having to build each and every settlement like this

Have to have made major strides since the beta as the game was hot garbage back then. The water system alone was ruinous.
The game needs a heroes mechanic. Yes. We need a Seven Samurai situation. Imagine Toshiro Mifune and Takashi Shimura showing up to your town demanding things of you trying to get your townies in shape to defend you from marauding bandits. Imagine Shimura falls in an epic battle at your behest saving the town. Your town could bury the dead with honor and erect a great memorial to mark the event.
You do realise this is medieval Europe right? Shimura? Mifune? The fuck?
Everyone wants this game to be something it's not.
It's a historical strategy game. There's no heroes on the battlefield. Just people with varying odds of survival thanks to their social status and wealth.

It’s brilliant marketing, people get to see and decide if it’s worth it to buy and hop in the early access.
I wasn’t going to buy it bc I don’t trust early access and devs (generally not this one specifically) but the videos I saw convinced me otherwise
