Tried something a lil different for today just re-releasing an edited version of this series edited without the boring parts. Real video coming soon don't worry, but yeah wanted to try this for an experiment so hope you enjoy.
And happy festivus love you lots XOXO - AA
It sounds cool!
lit ❤🔥
In a couple years makeship will be exposed and all the creators who used it will understand their (capitalist) sins and cringe hard.
I never would have watched the full series, as zomboid isn't my jam, but this has been a very entertaining hour of my life, thank you
529hrs invested into project zomboid, thats quite the series you've had with this game. I am a solid fan of the PZ series and have been revisiting this game to a religious extent now. Thanks for the video!
This series, worm man, torsolo, torsquad, etc mean so much to me. I know you mentioned that you don't want to create long stories like these any longer, but thank you for creating them in the first place!
@Quietshow Thanks :) Yee indeed lots has changed on the platform since I originally released those - so thinking I might release this type of compilation once every few months with some kinda serialized segments over the next few months due to YT just resurfacing things that are compiled, etc. Mostly it'll be new stuff, but I wanted to try it out at first with something from the past.
Plus I re-watched the whole old Gerald Williams series and there were a lot of boring bits I decided to take out, which were muddying up the whole thing. This one's mostly just the philosophical parts haha. Thanks for saying that, tho - means a lot!
he did say he'd never do it again? shame.
could not have said it any better im with you!!
It's sad that he's so driven by ad revenue and money that he only gives 10 minute videos on the dot. His long content is great as are most videos above 15-20 minutes. If only the algorithm didn't favour cringe short form content.
I would love torsolo to return Iv been hopeing for it so much 😢
"A fly can't bird but a bird can fly" - what a deep resounding message
But does the fly bird burden a fly?
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
A fly can't bird, but a bird can fly.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
Why does a chicken? I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
A fish can't whistle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.
A.A.Milne
I read that as "what a deep sounding message" and I think it made more sense.
In Germany the word for bird is also used for sex, while the rest can be used as is. So for us the fly can bird and the bird can fly
Why _does_ a chicken?
“ my potato farm flourishes and my depression rages on “ - AA
Once again, AA speaks clearly to my soul. And my soul yearns to spread his message … via graphic tee.
haha, you're right
I'm sure an Irish potato farmer may have uttered that exact sentence at some point in history.
I just can't believe that there are people who deliberately take AA's clothes off an send him to AA's himself.
lol
Is it bad my first thought, if I bought one but I won't to keep their innocence. Strip it naked other than the backpack and try to get the toad that lives under my green house table to sit on his lap with the tree frog that lives under my blueberry pots to go in the backpack? Tree frog is chill, lets me hold it sometimes.
Wha
@@heruhcanedean absolutely you're nuts bruh🥜🤣🤣🤣💜
@@DexyD20 If you love his nuts so much, why don't you marry them?
These were the only youtube videos my dad would watch with me because he loves your narration. He always says, "Put on Gerald Winters." 😂
thats cute as hell
back when this channel had actual character to its narration
That is so precious
such a dad thing to say
What a beautiful tribute to one of the most deranged and isolated men in history
I remember watching the plight of Gerald Williams sick in bed after being dumped. In my darkest moments I knew that if Gerald Williams could do an hour of burpees while cold, emaciated, and sick as a dog in winter that I could make it past that dark time. What a legend 🫡
amen
Hello Mr. Amphibians, my legal name is Jerold Wiliams and I would like to say that I approve of your use of my name. So i will not copywrite strike you
A very classic AA experience, like right when you were coming into your style. Good stuff.
Means a lot to hear it from you after all these years :)
How wholesome
@ambiguousamphibian if you read this I just need you to know that your philosophical quotes and the way you edit your videos are big part of the reason I've subbed to your channel. Regardless of what game you play whether it's long form, short form VODs whatever, your voice is pleasant and I find your cadence and humor enjoyable. Love your vids AA.@@ambiguousamphibian
"If you don't have a safe space, fight for one"
That is an excellent quote.
Never thought i would see the complete dissolution of someone's psyche given form in a single video
It's amazing, because it's a video about a lone guy desperately fighting off depression while losing his mind in a winter zombie apocalypse narrated in a way that sounds exactly like how that kind of guy would probably talk.
I really do miss the longer play throughs. Love the sea ice and desert rimworld series. I'm sure a lot of work went in to editing them and it might not be conducive to a healthy work/life balance, but they are really enjoyable.
Same. The single-episode ideas just don't hit the same.
Ditto
@@HolyApplebutter Yeah. I've been starting to realize that the ten minute videos don't really hit, well, at all for me any more. You can still catch him streaming or watch vods though if you want to see longer stories play out.
Yeah, I agree. I would desperately love for him to do more long play throughs. I like AA, but I ironically only thought of the short stuff he makes now as side content. I was actually quite disappointed to realise that's what he planned to make exclusively from now on. Kenshi, Zomboid, Rimworld, all of those less condensed playthroughs are spectacular. His narration style has so much more room to breathe, and you feel more like you were there for the journey than simply being told about it afterwards, which is how I feel about the new ones. I like his new stuff, but it's not rewatchable. It's not something I can binge through at night or relax to after a long day. It feels needlessly constrained to fit the shorter format, and a lot has been sacrificed in my opinion.
Have to admit, I was listening to this out loud at my parent's house while doing last minute decorating in their living room. My dad came by, sat in his lazy boy chair, watched this on my laptop and eventually ended up falling asleep and waking up a while later and telling me you have a soothing voice.
Another memorable memory in relation to your videos besides the multiple deaths I had playing project zomboid while listening to your videos.
I literally use this video to help me fall asleep sometimes. I live not in the safest place and not in the safest times, so this storytelling with a calm voice somewhat resonates with me. The situation is fucked up, but the voice is soothing. We lived through the day. Good job. Maybe we're gonna make it.
I’ve always returned to watch the playlist of the intrepid misadventures and struggles of the physically and existentially-tortured Gerald Williams.
This was like an early Christmas gift! Thank you for making this compilation, magnanimously enlightened AA. 🎉
I have rewatched it a few times since it first came out. I know AA just started doing it for fun and this wasn't the sort of content he wanted to do, but I'm grateful for it. I'm so glad to see AA become as successful as he has become and I hope he keeps doing what gives him a good living and feels fulfilling; he's earned it.
But I'm glad to know I can always go back and listen to an amazing English teacher, stuck at home during the pandemic, make a story about some character in a video game challenge and ramble off a bunch of random readings and words to form this wistful masterpiece that keeps the modern day ennui at bay for just a little bit longer.
@@Spoonishplsrelax spastic
Aw we lost the classic "Ah there's a flaw in my plan but... Well at least I'm safe inside my mind.". Almost as life changing as "An already burnt floor can't burn again."
Push on through the wisdom of Gerald. Life is hard but the warehouse of the soul isn't going to rebuild itself.
I thought I remembered hearing that line but maybe I'm mistaken
No the line is definitely in there
@@OtioseFanatic You mean the second line "An already burnt floor can't burn again." Yes, that is in there. I'm referring to the first line and the impenetrable mind of Gerald Williams.
@@XzMondayNightzX no. They both are. The "at least I'm safe inside my mind" happened during one of the burning car exploit sections.
@@OtioseFanatic I'm referring to episode 15 at 3:19 when he's on the bridge that's now on fire. Unless you have a timestamp it most definitely was cut.
Came for the zombies years ago, and stayed for the enlightening philosophy. That final verse, "Who cares what the river thinks or the wind wills for there I go, off to some new adventure", really hit me tonight, is this a quote from something? As what I know of life collapses around me I feel content and welcome the next adventure with open arms, thank you, amphibian man.
The Adventures of Gerald Williams got me through a deployment. What a wonderful man.
"Who needs veganism when you could be sick and depressed?" hahahah
This series had an astounding impact on my life. It's what got me into PZ originally. Hundreds of hours later, countless stories across several characters and long-term multiplayer roleplay. Thank you, Ambi.
Why you’re treating him like he’s your cute best nephew
@@SordidusFellatiomaybe he is !
Seeing Gerald Williams again is like visiting an old friend's grave, I feels so happy and remember him fondly but ultimately my heart aches in the knowledge that he's gone. Thank you AA, and I hope you have an amazing Christmas
"Ravioli Ravioli, whats in the can Spaghetti bolognese" is the best line I've ever heard. Hands down, no competition, I am haunted by the fact that I myself cannot come up with such poetry.
Man I really miss the old long form zomboid and rimworld playthroughs. Please unearth more of them in this format, this was great. Much love ❤
I kinda miss this version of AA-- the characteristic drunken slur of a dreary english major was sublime

Gerald Williams introduced me to your channel, and I haven't looked back since. The first episode was awkward, but the sheer, unadulterated philosophic insanity the exact instant the second episode opened up was amazing.
Bookmarked, favorite, saved, all of it. This series is my favorite thing you've ever done. I wish you'd keep making these.
The writing in this series is phenomenal, unmatched IMO by any other let’s play channel. AA: I hope you nurse your writing talent! (And selfishly, have more videos with such elegant prose!)
This series is single-handedly what got me into playing Project Zomboid, which I now consider one of my all time favorite games. Thanks so much for this AA! I’m excited to rewatch all my favorite parts of the saga 😄
I feel like my vocabulary gets larger every time I watch an AA video and I love that as well as the content
What an interesting childhood you must've had. Idk if your parents introduced you to poetry but you are very well spoken
A surprise, to be sure - but a welcome one.
The spear Dane himself returns. Cabbage-eater, monster-slayer, depression-haver. Carpenter, farmer, arsonist par excellence. One of my favorite characters not just in video games, but across any media.
Gerald Williams changed my life 3 years ago and I return often to soak my mind in his glorious wisdoms
I often looked back on this series. It helped me through a very dark time in my life, and silly as it is, made me a bit more introspective. Thank you, AA and Gerald Williams.
I binged the entire Gerald Williams saga when I was in quarantine with Covid, sick as a dog, feeling absolutely rubbish. Gerald got me through that terrible day, and now I get to relive the whole thing!
I was just thinking about this before, and there's something deeply soothing about the idea of waxing philosophical about your own ship in a bottle. I was gonna put on that whole playlist again, but I think this is the nicer experience.
Thanks, props to you and the editor, hope everything's going well. x
I love your story playthroughs, they are so good. Even if you don't make them anymore, they are what made me fall in love with this channel. Hyped about Wizard AA Plush!
genuinely one of the best videos in the entire genre of watching strangers play video games on the internet.
The original series is what first got me into Project Zomboid, very entertaining with a lot of funny philosophy moments that my friends and I often repeat when playing the game.
Great job.
This is incredibly entertaining if you watch this like your reading a series of existentialism Poems about a crazy man named "Gerald Williams"
Lol seeing him kite all those zombies in the beginning while saying “this is fine” is an experience
Anyone else notince that 30% of this video is just intros, and poems?
Yeah and a lot of it pretty solid poetry too in my opinion 😂😂
Yes, that's pretty much the point. If you want to watch the hours and hours of full stream they're out there too.
That’s why the title is what it is, it’s a compilation
This is the kind of AA content I sorely miss. I enjoy the new stuff to an extent, but it was these types of videos that originally got me hooked on his channel in the first place. I don't really get that same excitement when I see AA releases a new video anymore, but I'm really hoping that will at least partially change in the future...
I don't really even watch his new uploads anymore because they don't have that same "spark". I can't bring myself to unsub though because I do still like AA and I love his older videos. Just not a huge fan of the recent stuff.
Saaaaame. I miss the slower, more relaxed feel. The 10 minute, one-off, sponsored videos just don't feel like they have any soul to them... especially with the over reliance on frantic editing and sound effects. It's like comparing a good book to jangling keys in front of a baby.
@@totally_not_a_skeleton4004 Ya, I get it. I typically save up a few videos to watch in one go, but I work from home and I like having stuff playing in the background. Otherwise I might be in the same mindset as you.
@@thejskwared His humor still shines through occasionally. I wish it could be more often, but it's the only thing that sometimes reminds me of old AA.
Taking the clothes off the plushie is wild
Always funny when a creator nakes a compilation of a series just after I started rewatching it. Loved the philosophy parts so this is great
AA could just talk about his life for hours and i would listen to it all
Then you might enjoy his twitch channel as it contains a lot of that
@@SupahTrunks7 I don't really watch twitch but I knew he had one but I'll check it out thanks for letting me know it's a chill time there :)
When I'm feeling down, the tale of Gerald Williams always picks me back up.
The phylisophical and grand challenges of gerald williams is a tale that will last for the ages. The time it took for this legend to find a watch up to the goal of rebuilding his fathers house. What absolute legend...
Good job AA.
The magnum opus to Ambiguousamphibian.
I have trouble sleeping but you’re voice seams to help especially with the philosophical talk. Thank you for making such amazing content
I watched this series on the lowest point of life. And if Gerald could overcome his struggles, so could I. Thankyou for making my life in my lowpoint alot better
The complete tale of a legend!
After Gerald died dishonorably in Pixel Rogues video, this is an exceptional way to honor his memory, godspeed Gerald Williams, may you continue to hone your carpentry skills in the Farm of the Sky.
I've replayed your Gerald Williams playlist an ungodly amount of times. Comfort series. 😤
Gerald Willams shall live on in history, long live the king
this series years ago was the reason i started playing PZ.. forever grateful AA. Thank you
I know they take a lot of work but your long videos / series are some of my favorite content on RUclips. Rimworld Ice start made me buy the game and it served as a tutorial on how to play.
This is really professionally produced and edited. Very enjoyable and entertaining watch my dude
This is the perfect Christmas gift ❤
The abrupt and awkward "hello" at the start of so many videos just tickles me pink, it's the perfect icing on the cake for AA's videos
I use the complete series as a sleep aid majority of my nights so having it all in one video is wonderful, thank you mr Amphibian
"My potato farm flourishes, my depression rages on" sounds like it would have been an extremely popular tumblr post back in 2013
The best Zomboid series of all time, now in one video! Fantastic
Your candid observations, one liners, and lists never cease to make me laugh. Thank you AA
I love your content but this is incredible, in my opinion your masterpiece. I can sleep, work or prédéfini to this. Thank you for this
You have no idea how many times I rewatched this series, this is highly appreciated.
For some reason or another i never watched a zomboid video and was just now considering it, so thank you for singling me out as a viewer and reading my mind and determining what i want and making this video just for me and me alone
This is a masterwork series overflowing with the pseudo-philisophical ramblings of a man abandoned by the creature-comforts so many of us take for granted. Like all your other videos, the tale of Gerald Williams was an absolute joy to witness. Your ability to blend absurd comedy, deep introspection, and dry wit is unparalleled. It's obvious to all who enjoy your content that you work very hard to bring these videos to us. They're never expected, but always appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you for the videos all in one. I love Geralds story, he has probably my favorite story here.
YESSSSS more Gerald Williams!! you mustve seen me repeating the playlist recently lmaooooo
i will say i actually prefer the uncompressed version, has more time to breathe
@ambiguousamphibian I'm sitting here at 648a PST taking all of this in. Simple I may be but the message, the comedy, the indifference and the fashion-forward-yet-safe-af motorcycle helmet are resonating with me. I absolutely love this. Glad I found your channel.
I just want to say Ambi, your videos have always gotten me through some of the toughest times I've ever lived through. It's great to always come to your content and find resonance, laughter, and comradery.
Thanks for this great video. It's going to get me through yet another tough work day. I've been loving the new, shorter stuff on the channel, but found myself missing Gerald quite a bit.
Cheers and gratitude, good sir.
This series is one of my favorite things on youtube and i keep coming back to it, i love the philosophical ramblings and the impending sense of doom that his monologues bring in this series, sprinkled with notes of calm and quiet, and even hope at times, while also being funny as hell. Such is life i guess..
It's pretty incredible how he weaves between all these emotions seamlessly..
I saved it on my short films list here on youtube, that's how good i think this is.
Thank you ambiguousamphibian for giving us this masterpiece!
If only i could find that music piece though..
I needed this. I've been rewatching these videos here and there, and it's nice to have them in long form to put on and listen to. Thanks, AA.
that sequence in episode 7 is still the best video game video i have ever in my long life experienced. thank you aa
one thing this game does realistically, cleaning the house takes all day, and its still not done, your tired, hungry, and depressed.
Dude I have like 30 hours played on Zomboid, but the tales of Gerald Williams is just an internet classic for me. This is pure, good, well intentioned content! I have watched this many many times, and this compilation was able to really capture the highlight, funny moments of the series. Im a bit sad you don't want to venture with this kind of long content anymore, but you do you my man! Keep up the good work!
having so much of your script spread as a bountiful feast for the enjoyment of our ears at once exemplifies your strengths. this is poetry, philosophy, dare i say art. it stimulates the mind, and the mind takes whatever stimulants it can get so it isn't depressed, much like the slow reader, worm eater, crop sower that is Gerald Williams. i am grateful for your hard work making these videos, and then compiling them into one great composite video. so enjoyable, so soothing.
YESSS I was just about to rewatch this series!!! I love this series so much! Gerald Williams has a special place in my heart. Thank you AA for making this!
Man I'm sure you've heard this thousands of times by now but I love these longer series's where you shift between talking about the game and waxing philosophy (I love the rest of your content too but this series man). Thank you for supplying us with an equal measure of laughs and folksy wisdom AA!
This video was like listening to the audio transcript of someone who's super into bushcraft, primitive living, and Greco-Roman philosophy hitting the middle suggestion on their phone's text prediction box over and over again. It was soothing in a strange, esoteric way. I'll be keeping this one aside to play into the gloom of night when rest is teasing and uncertain. Excellent.
Your narration's frequent reference to Psalms during a PZ playthrough was a crossover not asked for but one I absolutely love. Liked and Subscribed :)
"eh, its probably not a warcrime"
-The frog
I love to see this. This and the Kenshi Torso/Hand series are my favorite things you've ever created! Fingers crossed you bring these long form adventures back.
This is my favorite series of yours. These series are what I subscribe to you for. I would like a 3-4 hour cut btw. :) thanks man.
I adored this series as it released and still hold it as my favorite series on RUclips. Thank you, AA, for all your wonderful content. I eagerly await whatever you release in the new year, keep up the great work ❤
The duration of an AA vods video with the spoken word poetry and literary references of a main channel vid; this is truly peak viewing
i would like to thank you for all the series created, it helped me a lot
Every time an episode of this series release, I was there. To comment, to like and see the adventures of the man with the ‘earth spaghetti’, the man who talked philosophy like water flowing in a stream, the man who rebuilt his father’s home and did something not many else could… not just survive… LIVE. The man known as Gerald Williams.
He will be the testament to the human condition, enduring the worst case scenario and coming back from it with an enlightened self. To live off the land and go out on his own terms just as the philosopher Diogenes had, we won’t forget Gerald Williams. For as long as Project Zomboid stands, so too does Gerald Williams to beat this world. Thanks for an amazing serious, Ambiguous. Hell yeah!
This was the series that caused me to subscribe. I've seen every video you've done since. I really enjoyed the philosophical, quiet, reflective nature of it. Thank you.
Ive never even played project zomboie but the series's like this are still so nostalgic. So few videos would let me forget the world for an evening like the adventures of Gerald Williams
This was my favorite series to watch, and i keep coming back, excited to just have one video to watch now.
This is a perfect edit, thank you AA.
i watched the entire playthrough of gerald williams earlier this year. i really loved the more philosophical take to PZ. this shorter version doesn't quite hit the same, but its great to relive the memories
THIS was your peak! No pesky edits, no "animated voice", not soo many cuts....
Just your on voice saying in a way that you cann feel the game and the danger, the loneliness etc.
Omgoodness I love this series, found it and your channel at 1 am during a blizzard and have loved your content ever since
I watched this series so manny times at this point. The pace its REALLY good, not fast, not slow, I think that's why. I would love for you to make a similar series, I know that right now your channel its more focused on shorter videos, but man that would be cool.
The library card reference was amazing, thank you, sir.
Yesterday I rewatched episode 2 of the Series and now I can watch them all in one go 😍 Keep the nice videos going! 😍
Oh my goodness, here I go watching Mr. Williams' adventure yet again. It is a key part of my personal youtube classic set. Thank you so much, AA. I hope to behold the path of the Great and Dreadful Worm Man once again compiled into a film, something he long deserved a long time ago. He was a true deity descended upon Earth to show us the Way, his aspirations have inspired many to overcome the weaknesses of their bodies by pushing trees and gorging on worms.
I miss this longform content, and the philosophical side of your videos. If you ever decide to make a return to them , even temporarily, Im sure I'm not the only one who'll be happy to see that in my inbox. Thanks for compiling this!
