Thank you for showing this way of going around the tube by crossing. I find it looks even more natural by rolling it around the tube this way. I also like the fact that your steps are well explained (merci i’m French) and shown slowly so i could follow and do it with you. Best video of all.
Omg your accurate explanation 😍 thank you for this amazing tutorial! Havin this diy curler for months now and still couldn’t get it right, gonna try your way tonight!
When I saw you wrapping it from both sides, I thought that seemed far more of a faff than just wrapping it one way. Seeing the end result, I've changed my mind. It looks stunning.
Haha, thank you! It really is a game changer for volume because the curls face alternate ways so they’re less likely to entwine together, and instead lay on top of each other, thus creating volume!
looks so good! i've had my ribbon for a while but wrapping it all one way made my hair eventually loosen up and barely hold a curl lol so this criss-cross method gives me hope that i can actually use it
Kudos to Heatless Hair for choosing the Premier Tutorialista on the planet to demo their product! Nobody does it better!! You are indeed the beauty fairy. 💚🧚♀️
Haha, aww, and that’s why you’re one of my favourite subscribers Janet! (Your cheque is in the post 😉) haha! No, in all seriousness, you’re always super kind and supportive and I appreciate you taking time weekly to watch and comment 🥰 x
Ok I’m late to the party but I just want to give some positive feedback for anyone trying to decide between doing this method and the other more basic method. This method holds soooo much better and you don’t need to do those weird side buns when you’re using the robe hack. It’s worth practicing even if it takes a little longer to learn. ❤
Love your information and videos. Do you put anything in your hair prior to the heatless method to hold the curls longer? Or just rely on the hairspray to do the trick? Thanks for the inspiration.
I just bought one of these and have used it twice, and I adore it! My only issue is that I have perpetually flat hair that refuses to do anything on the top of my head but lay completely flat and dead against my scalp lol, and while this product has helped give me great curls that hold really well, it hasn't done much to help in that area (and if I'm not careful, I get weird dents as well). I'll be trying this wrapping method in a few days to see if that helps, since you're pulling from the back as well, which I'm hoping will really help! Idk if you're still responding to comments on here, but if you are, do you have any other tips for getting more volume on top? I feel like I've tried everything; mousse, hairspray, blow-drying my roots before putting on the headband, adding conditioning spray etc. etc., most of the products just leave my hair oily at my scalp and dry at the strands (??????). If you have any tips or tricks I could incorporate into using this product, I would appreciate it so, so much. 💕
You are such a beautiful woman . I’ll be 55 in august and still do all My makeup and look nice everyday ! I’d LOVE to do my hair like this but not sure if I have the talent to do it . Maybe I’ll wash my hair and go to ULTA and let them do it and buy the kit !!!
Excited to try this technique! I recently bought the Kitsch satin heatless curl set, and I liked the results but I was only wrapping from the front of my face and found it didn't always leave consistent all-around volume like you demonstrated here by gathering sections from the back of the head. Also - I'd love to know where your pink top is from. :)
it's lovely! I went to the shop, but the product itself is already pretty pricey, and then the shipping on top is just silly. so I might attempt to make something myself instead.
Just a Tip: I do a zig zag pattern at the back of my head (instead of just splitting it down the middle). It makes a more seamless curl pattern and less like you just split your hair in two.
This is so helpful! I keep watching your step by step instructions for the heatless curls. Do you need to always have two pieces in your hand at the same time?
Have you used this heatless curling ribbon since you've perfected your reverse heatless curl technique? I tried your regular heatless curl technique with the robe tie, and I was obsessed with the curls, but I want to try your reverse technique for the added volume, as well as the comfort level. I'm considering getting this curling ribbon, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it....
It’s lovely but I still personally prefer a robe tie as the material just works better with the hair in producing that perfect curl! This is ideal if you want a smooth, soft, more relaxed curl. I prefer more volume to begin with as the curls tend to relax as the day goes on. Hope that makes sense!
@ShonaghScott that definitely makes sense! I did end up buying one of these curling ribbons, but after fighting with it for a while, I ended up going back to the robe tie. I definitely need more practice, but your wrapping technique is by far the best I have found! I'm so glad I found your tutorials!
@@asherly124 they do say practice makes perfect but I would still say I think you’ll prefer the robe tie results anyway! 😊 Thanks for updating me, I do like to hear how viewers get on. And I’m so pleased you love this technique!
Tried last night for first time. I couldn’t get hair as tight so I have looser curls which I don’t mind. I will say it was uncomfortable to sleep in since I’m a side sleeper. I did tie curling ribbon together. Maybe I’ll leave untied next time. Any recs for using when you sleep?
This was a really good tutorial. Thank you. I do have a question. Does this last all day? Usually when I do my curls with a curling iron it falls off almost in the middle of the evening. I was wondering if this technique will last all day and evening. Thanks again.
Your curls are gorgeous ! I have the kitsch brand one, and mine come out like these tight ringlets, and I can’t figure out why. I’ve tried wrapping it like yours and other ways. I love the loose curls
if you use too much tension while wrapping your hair it will turn out tighter. if you lay your hair over the band instead of pulling it tight they will end up looser
First time tied the ends and it just span straight then tied still at the bottom. Second time I I think I just plaited it with the rope.... we will see what the hell it looks like in the morning for work! Goodnight! :)
So beautiful, Shonagh! It's amazing how much effort it takes to get an effortless look, LOL! Isn't this the same wrapping technique you used in the robe belt hair tutorial? When I commented on that video about my fine, poker-straight hair, you recommended PLI to me. I finally got some from Amazon, and that stuff works miracles! Thank you so much for the suggestion!
Thanks Sandy! Yes, same technique, different fabric - the silk definitely creates a softer finish which is nicer if you prefer a slightly softer curl. Yes, PLI works wonders for super straight hair!
No, I prefer not too. Even with powder I find concealers tend to move - so if you don’t powder it you can move it back into place. If you powder it and try move those creases it’ll look worse.
Absolutely! One of my friends has shoulder length hair straight hair and she has always followed my original tutorial of this method, it comes out BEAUTIFULLY!
I throughly enjoyed watching you do everything between hair and makeup.. That tinted lip and cheek stain is close to impossible to find but I'll keep looking...I can't stand all my blushes, none look quite Suttle enough....
I LOVE it! Never sheds bristles, cleans up beautifully, can be used for cream AND powder, plus you get both the big and small end. So although it’s not cheap it’s worth it as it’ll last you! So worth investing.

@rheann g: Good luck to you too as well. I actually just finished. Lol It's still a little loose but way better than the other wrapping method.

You look so fresh, so pretty! It really inspires me to want to try doing the heatless method again (I tried with a bath tie and frizz was an issue).

Lovely! Where is your top from? I love it .
Thank you! It’s from Superdry!
Wonder does it have to be wet hair and can u do it at like 1 in day for going out that night
It helps if it’s damp, you can do it on dry hair but it’s a LOT softer in it’s finish. More of a wave and doesn’t hold anywhere near as long.
Whoa it worked out gloriously! Thank you for this!!!! New subbie🥰
Did you not set your undereyes with loose or pressed powder?
