I did this cake for my birthday, only with frozen raspberries and blackberries (cuz it's winter,obviously) and it was MAGNIFICENT. So delicious and rich and dense and lovely.Only I don't know why my plates were much darker, so there was no contrast with the icing, but still, it was awesome!
i made this dark chocolate cake today! the cake is so tasty because your recipe requires 70% cocoa solids chocolate~and since i didn't have almond i used flour instead, flour is also good to use. your recipe is not very complicate and i'd like to try more, thank you!
Gabrielle Omalley I think you would substitute the almond flour for polenta and have the same affect, or rice flour (which a Google search says is safe for you to eat).
Hi Donal I just have a question. If I use chocolate sauce to put intro the layers under fresh raspberries, is that sauce sticky enough to make berries stable to sit?? - I never done bakery before :)
Could I assemble the parts of the cake a few hours before a dinner party or do I have to assemble it just before dessert time in order to ensure that no water from the juice comes out which may screw the texture of the cake?
You could use blackberries. That’s what I do usually because I don’t like raspberries in deserts. Careful if you are using actual cherries, removing the pits will break the shape and just be too much of a hassle.
How is possible to make this cake when he doesn't give any guidance to quantity/ amounts of ingredients (except eggs) , everything is just 'some' amount. Is this video for pro's and he is just throwing in ideas? Or he doesn't want us to actually try and make this cake by his recipe. and he's rushing like he is not really interested in making this video properly. Waste of time. Dislike.
