I was on bourbon street that night. Everything was free. Everyone was happy and crying. Greatest day. Schools was closed, drinks was free, everyone was crying. I love my city. Magical night
David Celius absolutely! So many surgeons had left town for the game except those on call that Monday was such a slow surgery day at work. We all got to relax and hang with work family and discuss the game. Best Monday ever!
From a New Yorker: this is the reason why N.O. is my favorite city! I thought seriously about coming down for the Super Bowl party! Couldn't though, and regret it! At that moment, y'all came a looooong way from paper bags, "Aints" and 63-yard FGs!
I don't live anywhere remotely close, to New Orleans, but I was so happy that the Saints won, and I am sure that millions of people across the country and the world were Saints fans for the day. Congratulations to the Saints and the city of New Orleans! You guys deserve this.
Pause at 2:05 Brothers of different color embrace over a crowd of saints fans. The 09 saints did so much more than won the Super Bowl that year. I love that moment in this video!
+Daymon Rondino It was amazing. There were no race, gender, religious, or disability boundaries. Just pure Joy, Love, and most of all HOPE. An entire not city, not state but gulf south region came together as one. Truly a memorable night....
I can`t get enough of these reaction vids. This was the scene in every home, restaurant, and bar in the gulf south region. And for me personally, one of the happiest moments of my life. Young or old, rich or poor, black or white, we were all brothers that night!. I even saw 60 year old white men dancing to the ying-yang twins!!! Talk about awesome...
Chills the entire video! I was at the Super Bowl in Miami and believe me when I tell you that no one in the stands actually saw Porter score and it looks the same on this video. I never saw him run into the end zone until I got back to the hotel Monday morning and watched some SportsCenter. Greatest moment in Saints history here rivaled only by the Gleason blocked punt because of the emotions involved. Awesome video!
+Andrew Conlon-Riser My sister's boss lives in the French Quarter, and he said they could hear the shouts/screams, etc. all the way to his house....that's how LOUD it was. A great night for the city!!!!
"Picked off" "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"... haha, I love it!
So many fans of some NFL teams have numerous Superbowl wins , but imagine if your team never had a chance and finally they accomplished the impossible goal, it's just so much better
I love to see all races come together in an exciting moment like this. The Saints deserve this moment!! They went through leaps and bounds to be the world champions. Whoever went to the superbowl as a Saints fan, should peserve their ticket, because you guys just made histor!. That ticket could be worth a lot of money one day!! From a Vikings Fan to the Saints!! Congratulations on winning Superbowl XLIV!! You guys did what you had to do!! It hopefully gives New Orleans future support!
Thanks Simmons. I am a HUGE Colts fan - and that was painful to watch - yet in the same vain, I remember how it felt to win our first Super Bowl in 2006 and I can't be mad watching that feeling explode in The Saints fan base. Congrats - losing to That Team (esp and IU player and PU player in Brees) wasn't the worst thing ever. Hope to see you all back there next year!
Thank you, Tyrunner from the Packer Nation!! We certainly did need that win!! OMG... the best day in my life!! ) Other than the birth of my 2 children! ha! I'm a lifelong Saints fan & I was born in 1960, so you know how many years I watched us not even have a "winning season"... then to come back & WIN a Superbowl, it was more than any words can express!! I got goosebumps for months, after that... when ever it was mentioned! I still do, just looking at these video's! Love my Saints!!
This great feeling will last the rest of my days! I remember seeing Tom Dempsey kick the 63 yarder for the win against the Lions in 1970. I was a 10 year old beginning Saints fan now 40 years and many frustrations later I'm proud to say that I'm still a fan of the now Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints. Laissez les Bontemps Rouler
I watch this video a couple times a year and it always makes me happy. :) Just downloaded it and put it in my dropbox just in case it disapears from youtube I'll always have it to remember one of the greatest moments of my life.
Just a terrific moment. Porter is now Louisiana royalty for life. I still get choked up watching this and every other home reaction video of this play.
This city was DESTROYED bout 4 1/2 years before this moment. Drew Brees descended upon us and led the Saints for US. He did more for us than Bush did. I don't care WHO comes and goes in the dome, I'm ALWAYS wearing my #9. More than a player, more than a man. A Saint.
I have watched this video over and over. Thank you so much for having your phone or camera recording this moment. Makes me feel like I was there. WHO DAT!!!!!!!!
I love this video! 106 million people watching the Super Bowl and I'll bet more than half where rooting for the Saints and had the same reaction when this happened!! It was crazy at our party too!! WHO DAT??!!!!! Saints ARE DAT!!! (and more)
This is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find. I'm not a saints fan but i've been to new orleans many times and I wish I could have been in the quarter to watch this game. What a great night for New Orleans.
im very happy for the saints and their fans. I have gone down and done katrina relief work and generally understand as well as any outsider the effect of the hurricane...but not to be a debbie downer but as a lifelong Eagles fan, that celebration would have been just as insane, if not crazier. Just makes me alittle bummed we couldnt get it donee. but seriously CONGRATS!
So many amazing moments in footballs recent history, This pick 6, the Djax punt return, Polamalu's pick 6 to seal off the ravens in the afc championship, Santonio Holmes sb catch, so many greats
The 2009 Saints might be the only time where it felt like destiny was really on a teams side. Everything went right for them during the regular season. The come the NFC Championship, the Vikings are in field goal range, with a chance to win, but Favre throws a pick, sending the game into OT, where the Saints winthe coin toss, score first, and go one to the Super Bowl. Then, in the Super Bowl, they have a small lead, facing Peyton Manning, one of the best at 4th quarter comebacks. And what happens? Peyton throws a pick six, sealing the trophy for the Saints. The reaction videos of this moment, with everything the Saints had encountered in their team's history, make them some of the best reaction videos.
New Orleans……the best city ever, with the best football fans ever. I remember watching Tracy point into the end zone and thinking no way the Saints actually did it. Me and my friends cried seeing Drew hold that Trophy up. I’ve never been happier for any sports moment in my life even to this day in 2023. It’s crazy it’s been 13 years since this moment. I’ll never forget how I felt and running through the house with joy. I watch this play and many others from that season before each year starts. Saints fan for life and no matter what happens i’ll bleed black and gold, can’t wait to see New Orleans hold this trophy again. WHO DAT
Haha, that sounds awesome! I was happy to watch the game in the comfort of a friend's home, but the catch was my friend is from New Orleans so we were wearing us some beads and she had candles lit all over the house. She doesn't know a thing about football. Not.One.Thing. But! Man was she stoked when Porter ran that Pick Six.
I was on bourbon street that night. Everything was free. Everyone was happy and crying. Greatest day. Schools was closed, drinks was free, everyone was crying. I love my city. Magical night

Idk how the buildings in New Orleans are standing after that night. What a win!

Thanks Simmons.
