Im just starting out with the starch solution and its because i found you on youtube !!! i watch others and always come back to your recipes, you make it easy to follow :) thank you
I am six weeks working into the WFPB eating method with 50/50 plates. I made recipes (most of them from Forks Over Knives) as a way to start and now I'm working on simplifying in the kitchen. I love your style and admitted "lazy cook" method. I want to relax on my method so I can sustain the effort and your videos help. Thank you.
Thank you so very much for this fab recipe, Kiki!! I made this tonight, however, had to change it up a bit because my husband has Celiac disease and cannot have gluten. I used a gluten free flour. My first try was a flop, because it didn't have xanthum gum in it and when I rolled it out, it kept falling apart. I hated to throw it out, but alas into the trash bin it went. Ran over to Whole Foods ( I was determined I was going to make this work). I bought flour that had xanthum gum already in it.... no fooling around here, and proceeded onto my second batch. Gluten free flour is a bit different I have to admit. My first one, was quite stiff... kinda like cardboard Haaaaaaa, but it tasted okay. The rest of them I put into a towel as I cooked them. When finished, I sprayed the towel a bit with water and put it into a lukewarm oven. When the Indian food was ready, I took it out and they were quite pliable. I still think the taste is a bit different, but my husband thought they weren't bad at all. Soooo again I say thank you!
I had to comment. These were delicious. Crisped up nice and super fast to cook. They ended up being smaller for me than in your video but I find that kind of thing can depend on your flour. I love the fact that I can enjoy these without all that extra fat as I LOVE naan. I personally think it could stand a bit more garlic powder but I really like garlic. I will definitely be making these again!
I literally try all of your recipes because you keep it simple and delicious. I have loved every single thing I have tried from your channel. Dipping the naan in water was brilliant. Tfs
Wonderful. Something a single dad type cook like myself can handle. I'm living in Thailand now and there are usually no labels or ingredient lists on local breads and pitas. lol Thanks !!
I am so scared of making any type of dough or bread, but was able to nail this. It was delicious! Had with some almond garlic hummus. So So tasty. Will make again and again. Feel like could be a good base for goodies like pizza ???? Really don't even notice the apple sauce taste which usually bothers me greatly when used as a substitute. Thank you!
I've recently came across your channel and am so glad I did! You are so sweet and I love the ease of your recipes. I am especially excited about trying this. As you said, I too have yet to find anything without oil and other not so good things. Now to look up your indian food!

Kiki! Great video sweet girl. Your end dinner plate look seriously Pinterest worthy & super delicious 😋 thank you for your wonderful meal recipes & ideas. I am loving binge watching (new sub 😁) Do you have a video or a link to the lentil Indian curry, pretty please 🙏🏻😀
Thanks for taking the time to share this recipe. I can’t wait to try it. I’m getting my masala spices in the mail today. I guess I know what I’m having for dinner. The bowl of water you dip the dough in right before you put it on the griddle, is it just room temp water or more warm water?
Hi!! Would chickpea flour work as well? I am supposed to be gluten free but I’m not doing the greatest with eating what I’m supposed to. I gained a total of 67 pounds from when I quit smoking 2 years ago and gained even more weight during covid. I have been vegetarian for almost 2 years now but starting today my goal is to follow this diet. I’m so grateful I found your channel. Thank you for your help. God please bless everyone here!!🤗❤️🙏🏼
I don't know chickpea flour would work for naan bread, but I've been using it to make pancake/frittata things lately and it works really well! They always come out light and fluffy with a texture sort of like cake. And they hold together really well even without eggs. Just mix 1 cup chickpea flour, 1tsp baking powder, a dash of salt and enough water to get the dough to a cake batter texture. Then you just fry it in a pan! Take it off the moment it is cooked, because if you cook it too long it dries out. This is the base recipe tho. It's very bland, so you'll need to add some flavours. For savoury I mix in salt, pepper, nutritional yeast and spices of choice, like paprika, cumin, garlic powder etc. It's great with some sauteed capsicum (bell pepper) and onion. For a sweet version you'll want to add some vanilla and sweeten to taste. Fair warning though - the flavour is not the same as regular flour. It's sort of a nutty flavour, which goes great with savoury options but not everyone will enjoy it served sweet. If its too strong a flavour you can just use some strong flavoured toppings and that will conceal the flavour.
I'm totally NEW to this lifestyle of eating. I will begin next week, after grociery shopping. Kiki, do you have a recipe book of all your recipes? Or can you recommend one?
Looks great! So... a friend of mine said she found a vegan mayo for me and I was so happy! She made me some potato salad and it was great, however when I read the label, it was avocado oil based , plant based mayo?.. so confusing, so once again, I’m on the hunt for a non oil mayo from the store or one I can buy on Amazon. Any suggestions?
JEAN PHILPOT thank you! Oh man I actually have no idea on that one....I make one from tofu and lemon juice for potato salad...but I haven’t seen an oil free ready made one. I’ll try to do some research and see what I come up with!
Jean, have you seen the vegan Mayonnaise from "Brand New Vegan"? Vegan Garlic Aioli The aioli is easy. Add all the ingredients in the recipe section below to your blender and blend away until super creamy and smooth. You will have to stop and scrape down the sides a few times, but take your time and it will eventually get smooth. Notes: Soak the cashews for at least 1-2 hrs before - it helps then get creamier. Adjust the amount of garlic to your own personal taste. I used 3 large cloves - but I love garlic. Rinse and drain the beans, but save some of the bean liquid (aquafaba) just in case you need to thin down the sauce a little. The recipe will make more than enough Aioli. You can store it covered in your fridge for about 7 days. Use the extra as a mayo replacement, or dip, or maybe even a dressing.
@@jeanphilpot350 I found this recipe but I have never made it. It might be a good replacement for real Mayo. INGREDIENTS Cauliflower Mayo 1/3 cup boiled cauliflower 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp apple cider vinegar 1/2 tsp dijon mustard 1 tsp Braggs liquid amino acids 1 tsp arrowroot powder 1/2 medjool date 1/4 tsp onion powder Toss together and blend.
