The use of stencils and freehand together on the same project makes an airbrush project look great! Using all stencils looks printed…all freehand usually doesn’t have that magic! Been doing T’s in Florida for 4 decades!
I found it therapeutic just watching you build up this image. I can't wait to get a decent airbrush and to get started! In the meantime, thanks very much for the amazing videos!
Thanks dude. I'm an absolute beginner and have watched a few of your videos like the lines and the shading and watched a dagger stroke video and practiced all that. I tried doing this once from memory and it came out of crummy, but watched the video again, took a screenshot of the eye, printed it out, traced it out and did it. I totally surprised myself it came out so well. And really really good practice. All you beginners out there with a basic airbrush setup go give it a try you might be surprised. And remember to keep the air on, I struggle with that still.
What a great video, I am an airbrush artist interested in photo realism. I started out with masking (frisk film usually) but there is a freedom of working freehand, I hope this video encourages people to use an airbrush, it has been frowned upon by “the art world” for too long. This is Art, thank you for posting this vid man, really good job! Keep up the good work! Loving it
Very cool! and you make it look easy. Would love to see the same thing with an electric blue pupil. I think the transparent contrast of the blue against the black and white would really pop. Great video! Thanks!
I watch all your videos,, always in pure amazement how excellent of an artist you really are... I do not know how to airbrush at all,, to be quite honest I never tried but I did buy a cheap airbrush compressor set hoping one day I will get stencils and paint and watch your videos and follow you step by step and hopefully I learn..!!! But I just want to say THANK YOU & I really appreciate all your videos...!!! Walter L.
No probs and thank you so much for your kind words, once you start airbrushing I’m sure you will get the bug...it can be frustrating to start but keep at it and you will definitely get the feel for it. Keep in mind we also have our online course available which will help advance you and teach you how to airbrush the right way 👉🏻 airbrushasylum.thinkific.com all the best 😉
I've got a brand new trio of nice air brushes, great compressor, and a spray booth. Just watching all these tutorials before I even try. Until the last one, I had no clue about keeping the air ON and flowing while letting go of the paint only when ending a line etc. Who knew? Hang in there Walter, we will get this with his help.
You're getting some nice tight lines with the ps-289, Nice brush. I just ordered mine and I'll have it tomorrow, Can't wait! I also got the ps-771 from SprayGunner after watching your reviews on them both. Wish me luck! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. You're the reason I got started almost a year ago. The Newbie (Kind of)
Thank you try turning up your psi or thin your paint out some more that should help also take a look at this vid which may help 👉🏻ruclips.net/video/oAcJNzIzRQE/видео.html
@@AirbrushAsylum _Thank you for the suggestions. I have tried both and still can't seem to get the same pinpoint lines you do. Is it just a matter of hardware not being good enough?
Great work airbrushing that negative space in the reflection! I think I could do pretty similar work otherwise but that part would be too hard for me. It seems that if you can draw something with a pencil the same style works with airbrush, too, except you can actually add white more easily.
I always learn so much when I watch your videos. Question, I have one of those battery air brushes I like to use for quickie jobs. The problem is it seems to spray the paint all the time. No air to paint transition. I have tried to adjust it but it is off or on. I know you did a video about those specifically but I didn't see you having the same issue. Any suggestions? Also would you do a video on tearing canvas as apposed to metal. I want to do a torn canvas scene opening up to a galaxy or something maybe with creature hands doing the tearing where you only see the fingers but I can't figure out how to do that with the scene in the opening. Thanks
Hello, congratulations on your work and thank you for your videos, they are very instructive, it would be too much to ask if you activate the subtitles in Spanish for those of us who do not speak English? It would be a great help, thanks for everything and best regards.
Really awesome work carsten thanks for this tutorial might give it a go myself soon and thanks for your amazingly fast service from your online store will continue to order from you for sure
Hey Jayden, no probs at all glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the kind words re my ‘speedy’ shipping I always send orders as quick as possible to keep our customers happy, all the best and thanks again 👍🏻
I wonder, what kind of canvas you can use for airbrush, i tried with my canvas sketch, but sometimes I sprayed paint and paint started dripping. How can I prevent that?
This video is so great! After looking at your other videos I am inspired to get back into doing art, specifically airbrushing. Thirty plus years of running on the hamster wheel called work it' time to get back to what I personally feel more satisfy in doing. I'll keep looking for more new videos and watch many more of the ones you have up. I learn something new every time!
“Less is more” means basically to go light ie (less)with your airbrush rather than more ie…you have gone too dark and potentially ruined your painting 😱 hope that helps
Thank you so much, I have been drawing ever since I can remember but never had official training as an artist, apart from a short graphic design course and completing a beginner airbrushing course back in 1997 which is when all of this began 😱👍🏻
I love the texture and canvas is actually easier than paper, so it’s better for our viewers to follow along as it is more absorbent which makes it easier 👍🏻
Completely off topic but I'm really hoping someone can help me. Can you use "transparent" acrylic ink as a candy? Reason I ask is I have easy access to acrylic inks but Createx auto candies are a bit harder for me to get.
Now...as we are working on a piece like this, it can become very easy to get lost in, light, angles, and so on. Always remember to take a second and look at the big picture AS you go! Remember the direction of light!

This is THE video that convinced me to pursue airbrushing all-in. I've never looked back. Grade A my friend. Keep up the amazing work!
👍🏻 glad to see something other than devils, demons and skulls. Looks great
Lol thanks so much glad you liked it ...I have to say I do love painting the darker artworks 🤔
thats me also i dont do devils demons or skulls

I have taken 6 classes from Dru Blaire and his classes are so good my airbrush skills went thru the roof after his classes
Yes , I totally agree he is so good at what he does and his classes are worth every penny 👍🏻😉
You are a complete artist God bless you.
Fantastique!! will definatly be getting into Airbrushing👏👏👏
Excellent workmanship and unparalleled performance 👌🏻😍
What model airbrush are you using for such fine line work. I have an iwata hp-cs and I don't think I've ever been able to get such fine lines. Thanks
Excellent work mate

epic freehand work
Fair play to you you are by far the best airbrush artist in my view
Thank you so much glad you enjoyed the vid and it was fun tackling an artwork completely freehand 👍🏻
I’m finding it really hard to get mixes right
Great content bro.
Nice artwork.
I'm just a beginner.
But I am eager to learn.
Thanks.
😎👍
Excellent work as always. Amazing freehand work. I'm having trouble producing fine line details without splatter. Any advice?

What white is used and is it thinned down?
The white is by trident airbrush colours and yes it is thinned with their reducer 👍🏻🤩
