So, what is the origin of calamity ganon and how does the identity of calamity ganon help with connecting Tears of the kingdom to the rest of the series. Well that's what I'll be covering in this The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom theory. How exactly does Tears Of The Kingdom fit in with the rest of the series. This video of is course going to contain spoilers so be careful when watching this video.

Very nice theory! I also think Calamity Ganon is the OoT ganondorf and different from the one in TotK.

My take on this whole topic:
The Ganondorf in totk is actually oot's same ganondorf with the sealing and everything and what we experienced in oot is a legend passed through time of what happened.
Every Zelda game is a legend in totk as the relative armors and their existance suggest, that includes Majora's mask even.
Calamity Ganon is a force of nature, is really just malice, malice that has been leaking from beneath hyrulle castle for years, even taking forms. The blights are simply technology corrupted by said malice and thats why is much weaker to even mummy Ganondorf in totk.
The depths is the same as the dark world and Lorule and that explains it being geographically backward and containing the dark counterparts of everything in Hyrule.
And about the ancient hero aspect, I think he is "the first Link" as in the first princess appointed knight and he is going to be either in DLC or in another game which theme would be power. As we now have botw representing wisdom and totk representing courage. Some clues are the red hair, the barbarian set and the fact that this ancient hero has both gerudo and zonai features

We know that Calamity Ganon is the malice that is leaking from Totk Ganondorf under the castle, that Ocarina of time Ganondorf is dead after all timeline splits, that Totk Ganondorf is an reincarnation, the Ancient hero can have a armor that makes him look like a Zonai without being a Zonai, we know that at least two Calamity Ganon have existed and gloom is most likely concentrated malice.

I think oot ganon was a male born gerudo who was brainwashed by his surrogate mothers to be just like original ganondorf, the one we see in tears of the kingdom.

Very well made! I took believe Calamity Ganon = OG Ganon. It's too much evidence pointing to it. However, I believe TOTK's memories are indeed before OOT, simply because it's stated that no male Gerudo became a leader after the man who became the Calamity. In other words: There wasn't a Gerudo king again after OOT Ganondorf, if we run with this theory. This means TOTK's memories has to take place before OOT.

i relate to a lot of your speculation but the the dragon tears happened after the zelda timeline and i speculate some sort of huge catastrophic event where the three timelines converged

I like your theory. I agree that there must be two ganon/dorfs simply because he is killed in Botw and seemingly he is back shortly after in Totk sealed below the castle for ages.

The ancient hero is definitely not a Zonai. He doesn't look much like them. He has a couple Zonai traits, but he also has traits that are definitely not. He kind of looks like a mix of most of the different races.

There’s a Gerudo born every 100 years there can be different imprisoning wars and Gannon born

I think Calamity Ganon is basically Puppet Ganon, and that Ganandorf was supposed to be the final boss in BOTW, before they switched it from DLC to a full game.

The DLC was clearly going to be about finding the source of the calamity, which is Ganondorf underneath the castle. They may have introduced the depths as a feature then, but not as vast as in TOTK. It may have been like the cave of trials, where you have to fight through waves of enemies before getting to the Ganondorf fight at the end.
But obviously they decided to expand it out into a whole new game, which is essentially an expansion for BOTW. But some story details are not very clear or well explained, such as the connection between the calamity and Ganondorf. That's because Nintendo don't focus so much on story and just want to get the game itself right before anything else. Ganondorf is obviously the source of the calamity, but it's not really given much attention because canon is an afterthought to Nintendo.

An interesting theory I heard about the depths is because it has an underwater theme with seashells and aquatic looking plants that it used to be a great ocean. Maybe the ocean from wind waker which eventually dried. There’s a lot of outfits from that time and such down there.

There are arguments and counter arguments to the relation between Ganondorf (totk) and Calamity Ganon. So, I dont know.
But the thing that confuses me is that in the tapestry basically we see both descendants of Rauru and Sonia no?
The ancient hero seems to be a mix of Zonai, Hylian, Gerudo and some other race (because of the tail).
But at the same time there is the princess with the sealing power, which looks pretty much like Zelda (botw/totk), just like a blonde Hylian.
Either this means they had several descendants, e.g. 1 child, but several grandchildren, who then went their individual ways.
Or maybe Rauru and/or Sonia had children in previous relationships, before they came together.
Or maybe it was Mineru who had a relationship with someone we dont know of.
Either way if Rauru and Mineru were the only Zonai then the ancient Hero must have been the result of repeated incest to retain at least a few of the Zonai features.
Or there was a mad scientists (and ancient Purah) who experimented on the hero to make him look a bit like a Zonai😂

Finally! Someone else thinks that Calamity Ganon is OoT Ganon! Though I don't agree with the timeline merge theory or the Ancient Hero being royalty due to him being poor as stated in Kass' Kitano Bay sidequest, the rest of the theory makes complete sense to me!

    • @Superbrit42
      @Superbrit42 Год назад

To be fair, if the ancient hero IS the descendant of rauru, the existence of sonia and rauru’s offspring may well have been kept a secret in order to protect them from assassins. And it is implied that their blood, or at least powers, have persisted through the royal family and into Zelda. Have you heard of the man in the iron mask? There were twin princes and the royal family locked one away to prevent arguments over who would be heir. We have seen royals hide their own for various reasons in the real world and I would argue we have compelling reasons to think their is an unknown descendent of rauru and Sonia somewhere offscreen, perhaps being raised in secret.

Sorry my point was that royalty being raised in secret might not have the luxuries of the rest of the royal family, he could well have been poor

You've really lost your marbles on this one, the game has already stated that the Calamity Ganon from botw was a fragment of Ganondorf's powers in totk, so in hindsight, the Calamity Ganon from botw and Ganondorf from totk are the same being, so it couldn't have been the Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time or any other Ganondorfs from the different timelines.

Here's the thing. We know in BotW that Calamity ganon is sealed beneath the castle and appears every 10k years. Calamity Ganon and Ganondorf act as two separate entities, because they are. One is the actual Demon king and the other is the physical manifestation of his hatred, which appears to sip out from beneath the castle. Malice disappears, because the calamity has been defeated. It would have taken it 10k years to appear again, but the weakening of Hyrule castle allows Ganondorf to finally break free from his imprisonment. There's no reason for his malice to manifest itself again.

Im sorry, i dont think this video makes much sense. I think you have to somwhat spearate botw and totk from the rest other than skyward sword. When the creators of these games were asked how does botw fit into the timeline, they said to just use ur imagination. So they already kinda gave up on the whole zelda timeline thing.
I think what makes the most sense is that totk ganondorf is the first appearance of ganondorf. Rauru seals him away and then botw calamity ganon appears. Calamity ganon is just Ganondorfs hatred incarnate which appears frequently every 10,000 years. That's why calamity ganon always appears from the bottom of hyrule castle because Hyrule castle was constructed purposefully on top of ganondorf to help the seal, but when botw link fails to defeat the calamity the first time, it weakens the castle and thats why at the beginning of totk, Ganondorf is revived after 100,000 years.

There is no timeline, not even the creators of the series can put a timeline together.
