      Complete appreciation and agreement expressed for everyone who has commented how much better this is and any current F1 race, it is not simply magnitude is better, or different in terms of quality or what it offers it is simply in another world compared to the world of F1, I no longer watch recent F1 even when it is wholly free….recent F1 is not simply free it’s abjectly worthless. Just because a car is parked off-line and the drivers know it's there after multiple laps doesn't mean that it should be left there. There's a reason that Safety Cars exist. There is always a non-zero chance of a mechanical failure that can cause a car to end up in another (stopped) car, no matter how skilled a driver is. Also absolutely abhorrent Race Control to not even do so much as a FCY on the first lap with the race at 8 hours in. Just because we want to see historic cars race doesn't mean we should be using those practices. Again, just because they're off-line doesn't mean it's safe. Even double-yellows don't really mean much in that instance. And what's the point of doing a Safety Car if you're not even going to at least have it control the field? It doesn't matter in this instance whether or not it picks up the leader, you worry about that later and send out the SC right then.

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine 18 дней назад

      Yeah that was suicidal. They let them go past a pile of humans at essentially full speed then again nominally under SC but without it actually being involved then threw the red flag they should have done 5 seconds into the race.

    It's been great to see these cars racing here at Monaco 👍 however one of the old commentators said that the car years wont go past 1985. Well that just enraged me 😡🤬 because as the years go by the my generation will want to see the cars what i saw back in the day. Its not impossible to do because we have the technology that runs the hybrids of today and the ones after 1985 no where near as complex. So i dont want to hear that negativity, they just need the passionate people, the ones with positivity and can do attitude. Anything is possible

    • @jamescook8940
      @jamescook8940 23 дня назад +2

      Well you have to understand the ownership/running costs. Way easier to run older cars. Any group of 4-5 guys can handle keeping these cars happy. Unfortunately when you hit the mid 80’s the software takes over the hardware. So it becomes a much bigger team effort to get this era running. 70’s-80’s nuts and bolts wings. Easy. 80’s-90s plus begets turbos active suspension light year leaps in engine management and computer influence. So that requires running 30-40 year old computer programs. Let alone if you need parts for the 30 year old computer. I’m with you 100% want to see all generations running but just think of the logistics of history. Sorry for the rant.

    • @JB-dy2sq
      @JB-dy2sq 23 дня назад

      Anybody buys these cars know how much it would cost to run them which IF you had the money and you have the right guys that know what there doing along with the passion can do it attitude then anything is possible. Plus your saying that mid 80s are super advanced for today's technology. Sorry but that's utter nonsense. If they couldn't do it then they wouldn't have been able to run the 2 Senna cars on Saturday 🤦 plus if you don't watch historic racing they have the Masters Endurance racing and the Masters GT programs for most recent cars. Now They require alot of software to run them and they seem to be doing fine, and they have more software than the cars from the mid 80s and 90s. Only people with the can do attitude need apply

    • @jamescook8940
      @jamescook8940 22 дня назад

      @@JB-dy2sq I’m saying the difference between eras is a huge leap when you go from late 70s to late 80s yes I know they are no where near modern tech just advanced for the time and harder to run than older. I used to help on a team that ran a couple of formula 5000 and can-am monsters. But they were easy to keep happy relatively speaking compared to running newer machines. That’s all. Sure with enough money and people you could bring the space shuttle to an air show just a lot of work.

The pilots are just the means to get them around the circuit for us to dream about the glory days of these amazing machines.
