  • If you notice washer fluid leaking or if you are running out of fluid quickly, the pump is likely the failure.

It would have been nice to see the actual process.

Kind of looks like a new windshield washer reservoir. Looks like it was placed there to make a point. The bolt tab does not show any wear. Obviously the rag over the vehicle the vehicle make emblem hides the identity. Well anyway the lower cooling is damaged.

Tips for noobs (like myself). Clips (to remove the fender) do not have to be damaged and you can reuse. Take a flat phillip screwdriver and insert between the center piece and the the ring (think of the clip as made up of two parts). Corkscrew it with the phillips until the the center piece pops out and then the entire clip comes off easy. To reinsert, you have to make sure that there is a space between them (as when they were removed with the help of the flat phillip) and stick it back in and push the center piece to lock it.
Also, there are the two hoses (from car) to the apparatus and then the top of the fluid pump (I don't know how to reference it). In the video he mentioned 1 of the 2 locking mechanism for the top part. But he discussed how to separate the thing from the car. For the top part to be separated from the "electrical top thingy", there is another locking mechanism and you can use a "hose grip plier" to separate the apparatus from it. This task is almost impossible without it, requires a lot of pressure to disengage. You can purchase at harbor freight for 3 of them for about $14.99. I had to fix my abs brakes so I had this handy. I'm a first time Kia Sedona 2016 owner and stuff like this was kind of unheard of, so I was very surprised and wasted 2 jugs of the windshield washer fluids before scratching my head. I didn't see any leaks on the ground so I didn't connect. I thought maybe I forgot a few times to put the washer fluid in until I really remembered that I did put it in. Found out this is a common kia problem. Ugh!

What if the pump is working, but water doesn't come out from the hose disconnected? maybe the hose clog? Reservoir is full.

Often the pump itself cracks but you could check if it is simply the hose coming off. The full replacement is about $30 or so and readily available.

Thanks for the video. I found that you can lever/ pull out the pump assembly, then detach from old /reattach from the new one, the pump wiring connector. Somewhat easier as you can pull it closer to see it.

Probably about 30-45 minutes. Now that I've done it, it would probably be about 20-30.

Good deal! It's too bad they fail, I'm keeping my original pump in case this cracks again. I may try and fix it somehow if there is a next time.
