Iron Dome does not intercept ballistic missiles because they move faster than the interceptors themselves. The Arrow system is used against ballistic missiles but it's just a lot more difficult than intercepting slow moving cruise missiles or drones.

Iron Dome does not intercept ballistic missiles because they move faster than the interceptors themselves. The Arrow system is used against ballistic missiles but it's just a lot more difficult than intercepting slow moving cruise missiles or drones.

If you saw a fire trail it means those were fragments, not intact missiles. The rocket motor would have already been expended this close to the target and there would be nothing to see until impact and detonation of the payload. Another indication is that you didn't see explosions on the ground.
