  • Ian Crampsie of ATD Painting and Decorating, has been testing the new water-based sealer and stain killer from Zinsser B-I-N AQUA. Is it as good as the original B-I-N? Watch on and see what Ian thinks.
Have you tried it yourself? If so comment below and tell us what you think.
This is what the manufacturers say about this product:
B-I-N® AQUA is the ultimate water-based primer, sealer, stain killer and odour blocker. The high hiding formulation offers exceptional adhesion, without the need for sanding, and is ideal for both interior and exterior use. B-I-N® AQUA effectively primes, seals, blocks stains and locks in problem odours, while expertly sealing knots and sap streaks.
With an ultra-low odour and innovative water-based formula, B-I-N® AQUA contains only trace elements of VOCs (0.1%) while providing easy soap and water clean-up.
B-I-N® AQUA works brilliantly as a full-surface primer on building boards, doors, plywood and varnish, and is ideal for exterior surfaces such as brick, concrete, aluminium and PVC.
B-I-N® AQUA penetrates and seals porous surfaces too, such as wood, new cured plaster, stucco and drywall. Glossy enamel paint, glass, MDF, ceramic tile and non-ferrous metal can also be primed without sanding or de-glossing.
B-I-N® AQUA effectively blocks stubborn stains from nicotine, smoke, water, grease, mildew, tannin, crayon and lipstick and acts as an outstanding barrier against all types of odours, including fire damage, smoke, nicotine and mildew.

Just been using it today it may be more expensive but it is much quicker to apply and you don’t need to buy methylated spirit to clean the Bush’s

Not used it yet but will give it a whirl , i don't throw my B.I.N brushes away though , i just have a part tin that i keep a brush and mini roller sleeve in so they're always good to go and just top it up now and then. Nice review mate👍

Hello 👋Could you suggest a Top quality, durable & scrubbable, water-based paint, I can use for my bathroom, which can withstand moisture exposure 💦 ? it's to paint over old yellowed gloss on wood surfaces which I have already sanded ? Thanks 👍

Hi they do a matt version on perma white for walls and ceilings just. Ale sure that the walls and ceilings are washed down and any signs of mould is killed with a anti mould spray. zinsser do a fantastic mould killer the wash down and stain block the mould with aqua bin. You can use aqua bin on your door frames and doors just be sure to sand and clean then 1 coat of aqua bin then a water based top Coat of your choice. They do 1 L tins of perma white satin and matt so you can use both. Do not shower for 24 hours the paint will need to cure on the ceiling and walls. Hope this helps.

@@iancrampsie4541 great help although not for walls it's to paint over wooden surfaces which previously had old gloss I sanded down. Most bathroom paint is for wall & ceiling 😌
