Corn Casserole

- This turned into a casserole with a very fresh corn taste even though the corn came from cans. Grinding the drained corn makes it have a more fresh corn taste.
Here are the ingredients used in this recipe:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 scant teaspoon salt if canned corn is not salted
1 cup whole milk
2 - 15 ounce cans of corn preferably organic and no salt
2 large eggs, separated
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in a two quart casserole dish.
Thanks for watching.

Needed her quick tutorial on this great recipe. Seems impossible that she is gone now...Phyllis was a force in the kitchen for sure!🌻
Yes, and it was nice for me to have Phyllis and Mr. Bucky in my life, if only by You Tube. I was happy to find her recipe when I was looking for a corn casserole for Thanksgiving 2022.
If you want a soufle don't butter the sides of your dish. It needs to be able to grip the sides so that it can crawl up. Looks yummy!

Oooo! That looks delicious. Thank you.
Why are you subs not hitting the like button. Hit the like button and help her out.
Dolphin Gray hey. I didn’t know I should be doing that. But I sure will from now on. Thanks for telling us.
@Dolphin Gray - I hit the like button for every one of her videos and yes I am subbed.
Dolphin Gray - I always hit the like button. I love Phyllis, Mr. Bucky and the doggies. They're like family.
Same here, thank you for letting us know. Had NO idea.
Thanks for the reminder - I will do that in the future - I love Phyllis' videos
Oh how I miss you Mrs. Phyllis. You were an extraordinary woman. We're so blessed you shared your recipes. May you rest in peace. You're for ever in our thoughts & prayers. 🙏😇
I am from the Blue Ridge mountains of NC. Asheville area. I now live in Western Colorado. I watch your videos to get a taste of home. ❤the channel. Be safe. We've gone from summer straight to winter here. Frost killed the tomatoe plants over the weekend. And the moutains are covered in snow.

Go to. "Cooking with Brenda Gantt". She makes everything the 'ol timely way.
She's in Alabama
Looks yummy but is kind of time consuming
Have you ever made a Sopapilla Cake? I made one a few days ago and it was really delicious. It's really rich though so a little serving can go a long way! The recipe follows: 2 cans crescent rolls, 2 8 ounce packages cream cheese softened, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla, 6 tbsp. butter softened, 6 tbsp. cinnamon, 1/2 cup sugar. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 13x9 inch casserole. Roll out 1 can of crescent rolls and place in bottom of dish. Smooth out the perforations to make it smooth. Beat the cream cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and pour over the crescent roll layer. Roll out the second can of crescent rolls, smooth the perforations and place on top of cream cheese mixture. Spread softened butter on top layer of crescent roll. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and spread over the top of the layer. Bake at 350 for about 30 or 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Hope you like it! (It's also known as Mexican Cheesecake).
I am making this.
Man do I love corn. Fresh on the cob makes me happy.
Frozen is next. Gonna make this tomorrow. Will do half
since my husband will turn it his nose up at it. I’d make
the whole thing but I’d eat every bite🎈
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Corn casserole! I MUST try this before the holidays.
Mama Phyllis, You must get a small Generator so you can run things, Like your Fridge Freezer TV Computer Lights Cable Microwave Instapot :) Toaster Oven :) Ect.. I don't know what I would do without our generators. We have one for each floor. But since its just us now we only turn the one generator on, it has electric start and uses gas. A tank of gas last 8-12 hours, I even have for emergency window units for upstairs and our bedroom. I know you and Popa Bucky would be very comfy with just one, and you can take it along in your RV :) that would be lovely :).. I am going to make this this weekend :) Looks so GOOD!! YUMMY! Gods Blessings on You Both!! Huggs and Love ox ox
My grandmother used to make a variation of that with creamed corn, and called it corn pudding....
Ed Reid that’s what I thought she was making was corn pudding. But she called it something else.
I think she has a recipe for corn pudding somewhere on her channel. I’m pretty sure because I think I made it from her recipe!! LOL.
Wadeboden Fan...She made a corn pudding video about a year ago...it popped up in my recommendation list after my comment..weird how that happens...Will never get used to it..lol..
creamed corn, plain corn, sour cream, tons of melted butter, 2 boxes corn muffin mix, eggs, and....optional...chopped jalepenia, or (my mother's version) chopped red pimentos.
Betsy Barnicle I make this version too. Easier and only one bowl to wash.
I’ll definitely be having this soon, yummy. Thanks Miss Phyllis 💖glad you and Mr Bucky are fine from the storm.🙏
I absolutely Love your videos....I just recently found you and I am so happy I did.....after a long crazy day, watching your videos and hearing your sweet, soothing, soft voice is such a comfort.....I immediately settle down and relax....Thank You for that!!...And Thank You for the great recipes.....now if I gain any weight because of these recipes, I may not be Thanking You for that 😬.......✌️💜💋
Looks good, I've never been able to duplicate my mom's corn pudding. Made me chuckle, I would say "if a cake comes out nice & high it's great, but if it comes out flatter it's a nice brownie" lol. Thanks, glad you & Mr. are safe.
I just find comfort when watching your videos. You remind me so much of my wonderful Mamaw. I miss her so much! She was a great cook and I can tell that you are too. Mr. Bucky and your family are extremely blessed. Us viewers are blessed by you also. Thank you for sharing so much!
Love this, one of my faves....I put crumbled bacon in mine...as if we need more grease!!!?? thanks for the tips, I always used
creamed corn instead of doing it myself, unless it is fresh corn!!! Love! hey to Bucky and the Brats!
Just wanted to let you know that you have quite the following with RUclips viewer's from Emmy made in Japan. She has well over a million followers and was referred to your channel because of your wonderful content and delicious recipes.😍😊
One of my favorite things about you is your willingness to sacrifice your taste buds for us!! lol I love you Miss Phyllis and this looks WONDERFUL!!!
+Ellen Brantley ikr😋
👍Love it. It’s hard to believe this video was a year ago. So much has changed in the last 12 months. We miss you Mrs. Phyllis & R.I.P. Mr. Bucky. 😔
Please let us know how you’re doing. 🙏🤗💞🤗 10/30/19
I think I'd prefer the corn ground up, too. This casserole would make a good Thanksgiving dish.
Yum! Thank you Mrs. Phyllis! I will definitely make this for Thanksgiving 💜
I absolutely love her recipes I missed her so much. I want so much to tell her how much I appreciate all of her videos and I love both of them
I make mine with Jiffy CB mix, one can cream style corn and one can whole kernel, sour cream, two eggs and milk of course..
Susan Tx How much milk did you use and how long did you bake yours for?
Pam Hall 350 for 45 minutes, look under Paula Deens recipe for corn casserole, it’s the same one I use, it’s delicious..
Looks really good Mrs Phyllis. I think I'll try this with tomorrow's supper. I already have the ingredients on hand. Thank you for this recipe! I just love watching your videos because you cook just like I do, and like my mama always did. I find that a lot of channels cook many recipes that are just too fancy for my taste. I like down home cooking, simple recipes that taste good, just like yours do! Thanks again from NC!
Hello🍓I have recently found you on RUclips. I cancelled cable and I would just like to say thank you. You have a gentle relaxing way about how you do things. I am going to try this because I grew up on corn casserole with sugar and sour cream. P.s. have you used a silpat? I watched your Moravian spice cookies and felt bad with y our struggle..lol
That looks good! Greetings from The Netherlands :)
A Heart Oh! So wonderful to hear you are from the Netherlands!
I'm looking for your corn casserole Ms. Phyliss.I'm making it today.I sure do miss your beautiful sweet face and I miss Mr. Bucky too. RIP until we meet again...…….
Love your videos♡
Thank God that you and Mr. Bucky were safe
I miss you do much. Could never replace.
I want to thank you, Ms Phyllis and thank your subscribers! I made my father the corned beef and cabbage casserole over the weekend and he loved it! I also made the cream of cucumber salad, I just omitted the lime Jell-O in my recipe. So it was more like a cucumber slaw with grated onion and mayonnaise. Both were delicious!!! Love to you, Mr. Bucky, Steely & Sunny! ❤️❤️
I make this as a side dish when i make my jumbalya, i think they go well together with the spicy and sweet compliments.
Hi Mrs. P!!! I'm in Tallahassee, Florida. That storm tore us up. Some people still do not have power
I make it every year for thanksgiving, but this year and other years to come will be a small dinner because I can't stand and cook like that no more. Have a beautiful week. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and yours always.🎃
black snow
Hope you have some family or friends to help with your cooking.
May God bless you.
Gaye Furlow
@@billiefurlow1585 nope I have no one. My husband don't help do anything that's why I can't nearly walk or stand..I have had to do everything. He only has 30% of his heart working. But with the Lord Jesus Christ we will be fine thanks for your consideration. Have a beautiful week. Be blessed.
Hi Phyllis ☺️! Happy Monday. I've had this before but have not made. I like this recipe as it's all staples in My kitchen (at least). Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your week! 🌹
Here in the north, we get so much snow and bad weather, we get whole-house natural gas generators. They just go onto ur gas line and when the power goes out, it just kicks on using the natural gas u already get...no emissions, no hooking things up all crazy. Best thing ever. My last house didn't have it tho...our neighbors and us, we just had the gas fuel kind u gotta fuel up, make sure no fumes in the house, and u can only run a couple things at a time...our other neighbor had the natural gas one --I hated him😂😂😂 This corn casserole looks like heaven! I'll b trying thus one out this weekend. Sending luv to u all!✌🏻💗
It's so good to hear her soothing voice. Good old fashioned recipe. GOD bless
Corn is one of my favorite vegetables, definitely going to make this one!😄😍 Thank you Ms Phyllis 😄😄
I love all your shows I watch them a lot thank-you
this looks good for turkey day.
You are pretty. Are you Native American?
It would seem there might be Native American on both my mother and farther's side of the family.
I did trace my mother's side back to the tall Plains Indians.
...isn't she just Gorgeous!
I saw their pics when they were young (her and hubby)
Her beauty is eternal!..&
I love her like she is my Own..she is so sweet as why she so pretty ..I adopt GREAT people, as Martha Stewart would say..
"Its a good thing!"
💟
AquariusSunlight That makes sense. Phyllis has those Native American looks. My sister and I-and tons of her subscribers- think she is just beautiful.
I was just wondering the same and there was your comment! ☺️
Looks delicious. Can't wait to try this! I'll shoot for a casserole...
When my children were small, I made something like thid but with frozen corn, white sauce and a little cream. When it was almost done, I would make a little hole and added an egg, when it was cooked, it was ready. The kids absolutely loved it. I made individual servings.
Tita Linda Mmmmmm....sounds yummy.
I'm so happy to hear that you didn't have any major damage from the storm. Power outages are one reason I will try and never have an electric range. At least with gas you can still cook on the stovetop.
I have always had a Gas stove. Yes, you can still cook with Gas and you can also Heat the oven if it's cold weather to warm up your home. It's not recommended to do it but I have mine on right now. It was 36 degrees today in Dallas, Tx and rainy. It's going to be that way for the next few days. I even have an old gas stove built in my bathroom. LOVE IT.
I used to think it would be nice to have gas until all those old gas lines started blowing up like bombs near Boston. Now I'm happy to be all electric--we're on an electric co-op and there are no gas lines in our neighborhood, thank God!
Wow Shelley, it's going to be almost as cold in Dallas as it is in NE Ohio tonight.
Yep, Jane there is always a danger. Our house was built in 1922, I'm not sure how old the gas lines are.
adding some cheese would make even more savory
ious corn Pudding recipe....But I would like to know IF you have ever heard of a Mushroom that grows on tree stumps or usually dead wood? It's called "Chicken of the Woods"......I looked it up because there are huge mushrooms that grow in the fall on my neighbors tree stumps. I found out they are delicious and are very etable, sorry for my spelling there. Thought you might like to check it out and let folk know about this delicious mushroom. You just slice it, give it an egg wash and the flour it to fry. Yum, Yum.
Looks good. Wish my Mom was still around so I could make it for her.
I'll be making this for our Quarantine Thanksgiving this year. If this isn't on our table, it's a deal breaker. Boy oh boy...I can't wait! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Colonel.
You look extra beautiful today miss phyllis!
Looks great Phyllis but I would’ve added 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
Looks really good. Our power goes out all the time. A transformer blows about every other month and it usually takes less than an hour for them to fix it.
This is the first time I have watched one of your videos. You made that sound soooo good and the other thing is you have a very soothing voice and I felt like I was sitting right in your kitchen visiting. Can't wait to see more.
I make this a lot except I use cream corn and add sugar.....it was a recipe that my husband's grandma always made
Gosh! Where have I been? I’ve never heard of corn casserole before. This looks amazing. Definitely a Must Try.
The transformer pop or a really loud sound is because either a bird touch the wire or a squirrel,, that means that the lineman did not cover it and you can request a cover to protect wildlife as well as stop your electricity block from going out.
These animals literally explode.
They can safely sit on the wire but if they are on the wire and ground themselves like touch the pole or the Transformer they get electrocuted.
A squirrel probably climbed up the pole and while still on the pole or Transformer touched a Live Wire.
They may come out and reset whatever they needed to but you have to request that a Lineman cover it... and as many in the area to be checked.
Sometimes the departments involved 'down play it'
..... but it's serious, people's lives as well as wildlife are at risk, and, fires do start.
Love her and miss her so much.
I feel discombobulated looking accross your stove toward that counter. I got dizzy. lol j/k
Miss Phyllis I have a very delicious recipe for corn casserole. .I could eat it almost with every meal.it only has 3 ingredients.if you would like it let me know. blessings and love to all.
Perhaps this didn't rise as much as it should've, because the air got knocked out of the whisked egg whites...they are literally the raising agent in this recipe.
Love this recipe
Miss you Phyllis and mr.Bucky
Phyllis u r such a good cook
and story teller! we all luv you!!
Mrs. Phyllis - this is wonderful honey.
Made it yesterday. Only ground the corn
half way since I like the whole kernels.
Sautéed onion, garlic & red pepper in
the butter before adding the flour & milk.
This recipe is going in my favorites file.
Thank you for sharing🌽
Yum! I love corn casserole! This looks delicious.
I remember sitting in the kitchen while my Mum cooked; your channel really reminds me of that. I’ll be 70 soon, and some of your recipes are truly “ just like Mama made.”
Gail Doughty you’re so blessed to have those memories! I wish I did. Phyllis was my internet mom. I adore her channel. I will miss her and her amazing cooking dearly
Have you made S.O.S?
john carcamo . She has. However she does not sauté the dried, chipped beef in butter first. As a child her mother made it without sautéing the beef first and she did not like it. Lol.
i always hit the like button i don't know why somebody would hit the dislike button phylisses videos are alway ineresting and good
Looks good 🖒🖒❤❤
I sure miss you Phyllis 😥
Hi Phyllis, This looks delicious. I will be trying this soon.
Phyllis, you look lovely today and the casserole looks delicious.💗💗💗
Phillis had such a soothing voice, loved to hear her talk and the corn dish looks great. Barb
👍👍😍@21:39-21:43 the “um um um with a side to side head shake” is the universal response around the world when something tastes good. 🤗💞🤗
I like that different angle you use at the beginning of this video. It's easier to see more of what's going on.
Oh this is going to make a great addition to dinner..yummy😚.

Oh, this is a winner! I swear I could smell it cooking...lol. Will try this one, thank you so much Phyllis. 🧡
I m glad that y'all are safe! We lost power also, about 8 hrs one day and several brown outs and short outages since. A couple of trees down and a lot of limbs down. Like you I spent several hours reading hardcopy books again! I need to look into beefing up my library again! No power, no Kindle! Lol!
This looks good. We will have try this!
OMGosh this looks so good, I think I'll make this, this week. I am going to try it with the corn whole, then try it blended up, see which way we like it best. I think this would be delicious with pulled pork or meatloaf. Thank you Phyllis !
I think we need a love it button for this channel.
I love my corn so I will be doing this one. glad you both made it through the storm ok.
I've made scalloped corn but never corn pudding/casserole. So that's one to try for sure. Stouffer's makes corn souffle and I used to buy it but lately Stouffer's (I think it's since Nestle bought them) has gotten "meh." Glad Michael didn't cause too much trouble for you.
Looks so tasty! Thanks for sharing!
Love your recipes phyllis your recipes bring me back to when my mamaw was here and she cooked like you and all defanetley be making this recipe
Miss phyllis I like your white plate ☺ I also have white plates and miss phyllis I like your stove eye inserts so last week I when to Lowe and both me some for my stove top ☺ ty
I enjoy watching your videos. It's as if you came to my home for coffee. I love your peaceful manner! Your recipes take me back. Although I must be gluten free and hubby needs to watch his sugar, I can adjust some of your recipes. But for holidays, we splurge a tad. I am going to make this corn casserole for Thanksgiving. Thank you, be safe and God bless!
Hi Phyllis! Since it's cold and flu season now, could you give some suggestions on home remedies? What do you and Mr. Bucky use to help with colds and flu?
Neither one of us has had a cold since we started the green smoothies. I did have pneumonia in it's very early stages a couple of years ago, after the auto wreck, a lady hit me from behind. Still don't know how on earth I ended up with pneumonia from a wreck but I did.
Miss Phyllis did you hit your chest when you were in the auto accident, chest doesn't have to take a hard hit. If your chest had some injury you probably weren't takeing your normal inspiration and expiration-- that could have caused you to have a slight pneumonia.
@@PhyllisStokes I currently have the flu, so I may have to do some green smoothies along with my doctor's medication. Thank you Phyllis, and I am glad you got better. Take care :)
@@crystalgrose get some beef bones, lots of bones, boil them for a few hours with lots of onion...drink the broth (can also add carrots, potatoes, celery for soup)...healing powers in the bone marrow and the onions
THANK YOU!
Hi Phyllis , did you know you can use heavy cream in your homemade frosting recipe 2-3 tabs will give you the lightest and fluffiest frosting ever . Just like the pros make. And sift the confectionary suger first and use real butter so yummy !!! . I was just thinking of you and thought you might like to try it . 👍😊☕️🍰👍 take care , Sharon chew ps. Has not to confuse you I use my moms web page . 😊
Sure looks good Phyllis, so easy too. Could you use creamed corn? I sure do love your way of cooking. Thank you for sharing.
You'd need to adjust the recipe if using creamed corn.
Well this goes on my list for a Thanksgiving side dish. Looks delicious 😋
Sure miss this dear lady. This dish is delicious.
Ahh, there’s the wall clock I always hear ticking in the background!
Yasss I love that you’re tasting in camera now!
Yay!!!!! You’re making me a Corn Casserole!!! Lol.... Thanks!! 😀💜😀💙😀💚😀
That sure looks delicious..I think I may make that for the holidays.
Therese Martin Me, too, Therese!
You are beautiful inside and out!
How delicious!!! I am so glad you didn't have much damage, Miss Phyllis. Hopefully that wind blew away all the stink bugs. While your power was out, did you light any candles to keep your rooms illuminated? How did your puppies fare?
Kathleen Muhlenkamp Sister, let’s make this for a Thanksgiving.
Kathleen Muhlenkamp Sister, I think the puppies were okay because they were with their mama and papa.
Hi Phyllis your corn casserole looks yummy I've never had one and I'm going to make it because corn is my husbands favourite and I like corn too. This is your Canadian fan Ivana Williams from Blue Mountains Ontario Canada ❤️
Corn casserole is one of my favorites for thanksgiving.
My Mom would love this!! I'll have to make it for her!! TY!!
I make mine with a little sugar. Give it a try
This looks fantastic. That it can be made with canned corn is great now that the season for fresh corn is almost over. I think this would be great for Thanksgiving.
Yum! Looks delicious to me. My husband would also like this Phyllis. What do you usually serve with it? I'll bet it would be great at Thanksgiving as a side dish. Thanks so much for sharing!
Still miss this dear lady.
I am glad to hear that you got through the storm alright except of having no power for a day. I like your attitude about it being a delicious casserole if the souffle collapses :-) It still looked really fluffy, though. Thank you for sharing and have a great week!
