Similar set up - I have the Technics SL-1200G with the Ortofon Cadenza Bronze. I use a Lavardin Amp, Sansonic speakers and an. Evans phono amp. It's a magical system set up.

You should put your amplifier above the CD player .. for two reasons : it will add weight and stability to your cd player, and your amplifier will have a better air flow through it .. remember that heat goes up .. your cd player doesn't like heat that comes from the amp, and your amp cannot breathe properly if you cover the ventilation holes on the top of it, with a device .. so ..

@@reyiiteleco I'm glad it helped .. Your system will last longer ;) ... Now just another "little" recommendation .. I like your system, it definitely looks like the one I would buy for myself .. I see you've got an Ortofon Bronze .. it is a good cart for sure .. but if you want to go to the next level in sound quality with your (great) SL1200 GR, you should check Nagaoka's cartridges (MP-110, 150, 200) .. they are not impressive on paper (elliptic stylus, basic look), they cost pretty much the same as your Bronze, they are MM based (MP stands for Moving Permaloy .. but they work just like an MM cart) so you can keep your MM phonostage, they are well known to work like a charm with Technics' TTs and arms, and they deliver the kind of sound quality you can only reach with a good MC system ... much more expensive ... you'll get more dynamics, powerful bass, great midrange, higher and softer trebles, transparency, air, soundstage, etc .. so yeah, it's totally worth it in my opinion .. but if you wanna keep your Bronze, it's ok, it's a pretty good cart :)

@@reyiiteleco Phew good to know you have put the Yamaha amp on the top - my OCD kicked in big style when I saw the incorrect positioning on your video. I also have the Technics 1200-GR but with an Ortofon 2M Black cart and Yamaha AS-1100 with Linn Kaber speakers.

2:03 LOL. Gotta upgrade that pop up light to an exotic colour like orange to compliment the orange ortolan cartridge and also polish your tone arm to make it look premium oh and dont forget to throw your TTs stock feet in the bin and add some nice Isonoe feet on will improve the look major and also compliment the bronze/orange cartridge because the feet have some orange on them.. im kidding but im very temped to change the lights on mine and buy isonoe feet aswell :)

Speakers are the most subjective item based on preferred sound , room size and several other factors . Choose speakers by ear, not reviews and Power amp based on speaker requirements . It's a lifelong obsession . Component stereo allows single item upgrades .

Difficult to say. But, the other day my wife and I did a blind test with same album on vinyl and cd, and much to out surprise the diff was very noticeable, very to easy to tell the diff. Vinyl sounded so much better. Although this depends on many factor, like mastering, edit, and many other things , vinyl sounded clear, spacious, definition. Cd sounded dull not better than vinyl. Keep in mind this have not to be like this for all cds... I have sacd that sound magnificent, I think is not the CD player but the cd recording.
