- The amount of trash and stuff we got rid of in ONE room and ONE closet still has me shook. We are probably the roughest on this room and it feels good to pair down to the minimum of what we need. I know it will be easier to keep up with. Bonus in this video, we unbox our new Nugget couch (not sponsored). It was so much fun to see the kid's excitement caught on video. They have been loving it. Thanks for hanging out with me today. Leave me a comment letting me know you stopped by! If you haven't already I would love for you to subscribe and join me on this journey of decluttering!
Special Shout Out to @Myeverydaywifelife for inviting me to the one box challenge. I will share that video with you all next week!

Loved beverly cleary, the character ramona and beezus. Then later as a teen romance novels. Then ghost bks, unsolved mysteries.
Impressive transformation! The quilts are so beautiful and unique-- maybe you could hang them up on the walls in the playroom, homeschool rm, or bedrooms. They deserve to be seen. And, yes, have the kids put away all their homeschool supplies and toys every evening. Great job!
You are very blessed with a wonderful grandma making you so many quilts! Thank you for taking us with you on your organizing journey.
I love everything Judy Blume and Encyclopedia Brown!
A locking cabinet!!!! That is a great idea! I can't tell you how many times kids have dumped puzzles or more games out all over the place. I wish I had a row of shelves or cabinets really high up around my whole entire house just to shove stuff that I don't want the kids to touch.
I am really hoping this helps us too!
I was hooked on reading Nancy Drew Mysteries.
I used to love the Christy Miller series. They were Christian based drama chapter books!
Great job 👍
I worked with special needs children for 20 years in saying that we took the time after each activity/lesson, everything was put back in it's place by myself and the students. It saved a lot of work at the end of the day, there was nothing to clean up or put away. It also helped to stop the distraction of a cluttered class room.
I need to be better at this. I use to have a rule everyone had to rest the rooms before lunch and dinner. That worked for us. And my signal to remind them was when I started preparing their meal. When they were done they got to eat so they were motivated to tackle it quickly too.

Lol about the meal time 😂
Whatever works for you, is the key.
Keep up the great work.. you are doing wonders!
put the key to the locker cabinet on your car key chain!
Wow! Great job. You have like a new house again! This is wonderful watching all of these! 🥰 Karen
My aunt made quilts for each of kids and I’m so grateful because she passed away unexpectedly 2 years ago. I loved reading Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books growing up. You have done a great job decluttering all your areas!
I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt, I bet her quilts bring extra comfort when you miss her.
@@LeafLikeOnATree yes they do.
I’m new to this channel. I watched a couple of your videos. I really liked your sense of humor! You had me chuckling at a few of your comments. 😂 You all seem to have a family bond. You have Great organizing skills and you are teaching your children good things. They seem like very caring little people. 🤗Thank you for making these videos.
Loving me some goosebumps and series of unfortunate events growing up. Still love them even now as an adult.
wow you did an amazing job. im sure you feel better after that. also love the new couch! 😊😊
Seeing your kids make a car out of their couch reminds me of when I was 5 and made a car from the kitchen chairs and living room pillows in the kitchen on a regular basis. We had a suite in the basement that was always rented out, most of the houses built in the 40"s and 50's were built with self-contained suites where I grew up. My Dad built our house . It was originally a 4 bedroom, but we later made the kitchen smaller to make a closet for my parent's bedroom. The fourth bedroom became the formal dining room and a kitchen wall was made into big cabinets and on the other side of it a fireplace. Why they chose to popcorn the ceiling, is beyond me, except in the late sixties it was a thing. I came to really hate that ceiling, In the living room on wall was painted with a slight textured swirl pattern just a bit darker ecru and was quite nice, I loved it, that and the beautiful textured ceiling went out with the new reno. Mom chose walnut cupboards and a midcentery greenish tile and light lino. It was nice, the bathroom sink and cabinet was changed to an walnut hanging vanity, and weird tile I did not like either, white with brown swirls. Since the walls were plaster, there was no shower just a tub and new lino same as kitchen white and brown specks. I kept suggesting more color on the walls, ripping the dark green carpet up in the dining room and living room to a more subdued neutral but my mom wanted orange curtains and a green sofa that was midcentry but uncomfortable. The curtains in the dining room were still the same yellow-gold, and the kitchen was green/yellow curtain. My room was decorated in a soft green, apricot, and green shag rug with the carpet rug, and a lovely girly bedspread and curtains of soft golds, greens and apricot. I chose a wallpaper that looked like barn wood for a feature wall. I was like 10, and a very frustrated interior designer with lots of ideas, my Mom always decorated for what was in style, not what she really liked, she liked soft pinks and blues but up until they retired and moved into an apartment, did she do want she wanted. Every other house was browns, golds, rusts, no matter how I pleaded for her to use colors and a style she really liked instead of beige. My Mom could pick wonderful color combos for dresses, and quilts that she made, but put color besides beige on the wall? Nope? Too radical, never have found out why she thought that and now she is 99, her mind is not what it used to be and has most likely forgotten the reason. That nameless reason will haunt me forever. LOL Like you I am starting the purge and cleaning my apartment, it seems endless- but I shall overcome... eventually.
Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I really could envision your childhood home. I love mashing up current trends with what I like. Kind of like using a color accent instead of a taupe color. I am so glad you are on this journey of decluttering with me. We are in it together. Some days are more challenging than others, but we will get there.
‘Back in the day’ I loved 🥰 Nancy Drew! Super satisfying clean 🧼 and declutter😊
Thank Donna! ❤️❤️❤️
I loved goosebumps, baby sitter’s club, and the boxcar children.
Oh yeah, babysitter's club. I had a few of those too.
My favorite books were the Nancy Drew book series. Read the whole series back n the late 60’s. Also loved
Little House on the Prairie after reading it in 3rd grade. On this decluttering series I especially loved the individualized book sections for each child. Great idea! Also how you labeled each section for easy clean up for the kids. The Nugget Couch is awesome! What a nice reward for the kiddos after all their amazing help. I had guessed it would be blue because I know you very well. Keep up your fun & inspiring series. Love you, Punky. PS. What a relief to see that linen closet so organized & with linen in it. Also you can now close the door with ease. Very very impressive Love you, Mom😊❤️
Hi Mom!
Amelia Padilla, Hank the cow dog, and when I became a teenager, I like books that were like movies and see how they were different.* for the linens you can put one fitted sheet inside a flat sheet and one pillowcase and tuck them into a pillowcase. That way you’ll have all 4 pieces for your bed together in Linen’s Closet or you can do like I do and I have a cube storage bin with sheet set with shams & throw pillows altogether. So, when you go to put your linens back on bed everything is together.
That top from another video that you were wondering whether to keep for the kids - you should cut it up and make something useful for each child - like maybe keep squares from things of yours and make them each a blanket from your stuff that you leave for them to find when the time comes.
Motivating thank you 😊
I remember loving Sweet Valley High books back in the late 80's 😬👍🏼
I love the 80's and 90's focused so much on teens simply growing up. I was crazy for stuff like that!
You are so smart to try the one box challenge. The trick to living more simply is to constantly revisit all the areas of your home and declutter. Once you are able to have places for everything, it helps to see clearly what is and isn't being used. Happy Easter!
LOVE the flower lights!!! My linen closet always looks like a bomb went off. No games though, lol. Ver nice homeschool room!
You have no idea how happy I was to see an update 😁 I love your declutering videos. They are so satisfying 😍
Now I'm ready to tackle our homeschool room❤❤ I read Sweet Valley High books when I was young. My daughter that's in 8th grade loves Goosebumps.
Those quilts are so special. ❤️❤️❤️ My favorite was the peekaboo one ❤️
Just recently found your videos a few days ago. I think it was through Erica Lucas. Love your decluttering series. You're doing such a great job!!
Side note...I have 2 daughters. Their middle names are Grace and Ella. 💛
Edited my comment to say how talented your grandmother is with her quilting. Absolutely beautiful! 🙂
I never read goosebumps but LOVED Fear Street. I still have all of them up in my closet. Also loved Babysitters Club and Nancy Drew...The Secret Garden and Velvetine Rabbit were also faves.
Great job! As a kid I enjoyed Judy Blume books, Black Stallion books and The Trumpet of the Swan also was a favorite.😊❤🐦
One idea that came to mind:
Why not put the key To the locker storage on the string just like you did your hairbrush, and also put a hook on the wall. Then you can hang the key on the hook up high where Your little can’t get to it, and you won’t lose it.
So smart! Thank you!
Nancy Drew books. Your oldest would love them!! // So tip have everyone do a 15 min room reset daily so it is ready for the next day. Pretty soon it will be done like clock work and they will enjoy the “calmer” envt to study. Tfs! 🌸
Great tip!
I loved the Dear America Series, the Cam Jansen series (mystery), Wayside School series, and the Harry Potter series when I was their age!
I was a Baby-Sitters club member! I loved my girly drama books with a little bit of mystery.
Wow this looks so good! We don’t have a homeschool room so the living room and dining room and occasionally other spaces get the chaos of homeschool. Those quilts are amazing!!!!
You should hang the quilts on the wall. They are beautiful.
You have a great home! It seems so functional and it’s so pretty. Great job on the room and closet. Such a cute ending!
I loved the American Girl books which would be great for their age now and The Royal Diaries Series or Dear America / My Name is America series for when they are a little older. All teach history and the last three series are written as diaries which makes it more interesting for kids.
Those quilts are really cool.
Finding a book thats in your Amazon cart/wishlist = SCORE! 🤜
😂😂😂😂good ending for the video
They are so sweet may god bless them💞💞
Put a hook above the door and hang the key for the blue locker on it . Kids won't be able to reach it . And as long as you put it back every time you won't lose it .
Love your videos Nancy Drew 4 ever.
Animal Ark, Pony Pals, Heartland, books like that
I was into mystery and fantasy, I was and am an avid reader but now a day I read mostly romance, novels and fantasy. My daughter taste in books is yours combined apparently 😆 at the moment she’s reading Harry Potter, in our house you have to read the books before you watch the movies. But that’s kind of hard to control so I do know that she already have seen them at a friends house 🙊
This was an amazing transformation! 🤩🤩
I'm the same way with books and movies! We tried Harry Potter last year. They weren't into it, I am going to try again next year. I loved Harry Potter. I think they were just too young. It started out a little too dark for them with the way Harry was being treated.
@@LeafLikeOnATree I’ve heard they should be the same age as Harry is in the book when they read them. So start at 11 years old.
I loved reading Amelia Bedeila
Nancy Drew all the way then Agatha Christie! Yes, I was reading AC in my teens - I was a dork.
You grandma is sooooo talented
She really is! I could brag about her all day.
The family love oozes 😍
So satisfying! Well done, super fam!
your moms quilts are incredible!! they definitely deserve the respect of being folded and put away nicely :) you did an amazing job
Is it weird that I would want them hung on the wall?
@@angieserdar not at all, they're gorgeous and deserve to be displayed!
Oooh, love the blankets. Made one for my babies just starting to sew. It is not perfect and not as creative as yours, but I love it. will keep it for grandchildren (my kids are 3 and 1,5…). I do keep very little, but this is a keeper :)
Wow that nugget thing is cool!!!
I really hope you and your family will find the freedom of having less. It is so less stressful when there is less stuff.
We are... It has done wonders for my anxiety.
I loved anything by Enid Blyton when I was a kid.
Looks great and your children are so funny and beautiful
Great Job by you & your kids. 😊
😊You all are doing great!
Trixie Beldon, all day long! Those quilts are so lovely!! ❤️❤️❤️
I am a late 90s kid. I grew up on junie b Jones… the fudge series… and Amelia bedila
I love the cozy lights in your homeschool room! And the couches for snuggling and reading. I have fond memories of my mom reading out loud to us on our homeschool couch!
Awesome reveal! Great job!
Little House on the Prairie! I would re read the series all of the time!
Im 64 and I reread Little House every 3or 4 years,
@@marisawatson6464 me too and my books are falling apart but still love them.🥰
Baileys School Kids, Hank The Cow Dog, and anything mystery/drama
Just recently found you trying to get caught up lol I must say I love the before and afters you did at the end. I almost commented on a another vid asking if you could do that but didn't. It's just so satisfying seeing the immediate difference. Really enjoying your content. Also as a kid my favorites were The Baby Sitter's Club, Sweet Valley High and then I discovered the R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike books and I was hooked. I'd love to go back and read some of those.
Thanks for that feedback and noticing! I agree is better to see the difference side by side. I'm going to try to remember to do that in all our future videos too.
Trixie Beldon mystery series, sweet Pickles and Berenstein Bears.
That nugget couch might be perfect for my husband. He’s always laying on the floor.
That snapping trick you do works good.
My husband too! I love the snapping trick. I wish it were that easy in real life, but it is always so satisfying editing.
I guessed blue for the couch, which is a dream couch for both kids and minimalists.
You are so good!
I cannot help it! I get a smile every time I see the snap!!!
Me to! It is so satisfying.
I am very much enjoying my binge on your videos - they are excellent motivation. Thank you for allowing us to see the quilts your grandma made - I think she's so talented and you had one out on the back of the lounge in the done room which is wonderful. I have heard of nugget couches - they seem very difficult to buy due to demand and everybody adores them - it looks great in the room.
I’m very much enjoying your sweet comments! I’m reading them all. Thanks for hanging out with me.
Greetings from rural Australia. I didn't know that you were an Aggie too. I'm not but my 3 cousins (from Houston) are. When we've visited they've taken us to a game at Kyle Stadium, and even the midnight yell.
Oh nice! You really got to experience some awesome Aggies traditions! Those were some good memories...
You have such a loving family. Love the motivation 💪 🙌 👏 ❤!!!
Great video x I read Enid Bilton (prob spelt wrong) 🤣🤣growing up I loved them x 🏴🇬🇧❤️
Looks great!
Looks really good
There you are!!!..been waiting for a video!!!...yes here we go!!!
Goosebumps!!!! I collected them over the last few years from thrift stores for my daughter lol she's 7 and not interested yet. she's really into graphic novels
As always, an incredible video! I enjoyed this so much!!
Love this. I was going to ask for sneak peak of all the rooms you have already decluttered.... but you beat me to it. What rooms do you have left?
I've got one more guest bedroom that won't require much, not sure if I will do a video on it or not, but the main thing left is our Garage! It will take us a couple weekends to film, but it is going to be worth it!
Great job Shannon! It’s looking good. Can’t wait till your next video. Be blessed! ❤️
Bobbsey Twins. Nancy Drew. Hardy Boys. Black Stallion. Biographies.
Ok, haven’t watched yet, but before I lose my train of thought. I did not homeschool. But when we were at school, and our kids were in school, their desks and space around it in the classroom had to be neat and tidy. And every other Friday I remember in MY grade school days, desk had everything taken out and neatly put back in. Made for a conducive learning space for all. Could something like work for your girls “space?” And btw…MAJOR kudos to you for taking on the huge task of homeschooling. I could not have done it. Especially thru the high school years! Just shoot me now. Anyway…just a thought. Ok, now I am going to watch your video. Waiting for your fingers to start working again…
I think that is a great tip. I definitely want to establish a reset at the end of every school day. I think that would help a lot.
I loved Goosebumps. 🖤
Love your channel 👌🥰🙏❤️ and love the energy you portray even though you are exhausted. True inspiration XXX feel blessed xx
The blue shelf is from IKEA, I think it’s called Ikea PS cabinet
American girl books were my middle school inspiration. Plus, they’re historical fiction!
I need to look into these! Thanks for sharing!
I’m jealous of that nugget couch. I really want one!
Great job, it looks wonderful! I loved the babysitters club books and the choose your own adventure books
Have you though of putting everything away before you leave the room like they do in a class room .... I know easier said than done.. I use to have the kids (with me) clean the toy room before dinner each night so the next day it was clean .. Maybe that would with the class room ? .. looks so good .
You should develop a habit together with the kids. At the end of the schoolday everyone tidies his/her desk or place or toys. The next day you start with a clean desk.
Did you ever do a houstour? I was wondering: your house seems to be fairly big, you have got many rooms 😳
I haven't done a house tour yet! I have it scheduled on an upcoming video though!
Awesome reveal! That was a lot of work! I have been wanting to add a nugget to our homeschool room. Now I really want one!
Your declutters are amazing
You are amazing!
Boxcar children and little house on the prairie books 😊
YES! Historical fiction! 🙌🙌 That genre actually got me ahead in school 😂 Honestly though, I liked all these. Enjoyed me some Goosebumps and Baby Sitters Club mixed in with fantasy like Ella Enchanted.
Same! The only books I ever finished in High School were historical fiction like the Count of Monte Cristo
Just discovered your channel. I love it and have enjoyed binge watching all your videos! Thank you for your hard work!
Thanks so much for hanging out with me through them!
I liked goosebumps and junie b Jones .... !!!
I’m an Aggie too! What a treat to find out you’re an Aggie 😅 gig em!
👍🏻 Gig'em!
❤️❤️❤️
This looks amazing! 👏
For the key my mom made a copy of it and kept the original in her jewelry box so if the copy ever got lost we had the original to make another copy and still had a back up for if the one is use couldn’t be found when it was needed
Devo in aussie slang is "devostated" 😂 funny to see that label!
Oh that is awesome!
