Are you blind? I'm not even trying to be rude...but you really missed the 3-4 times Tyson literally launched his head into Holyfield on purpose? How about the big one in the 6th round that stopped the action - Tyson leaves his feet like a battering ram into Holyfield's head. All Holyfield did was go low as defense. That's why in both fights, Halpern and Lane, the two best referees in the game at the time, issued no warnings to Holyfield for intentionally /illegally using his head. Mike just melted down when he landed his best punches and Holy didn't go anywhere, and so then he tried to rough him up and bully him, and like Don Turner told Holyfield after the 1st round, "You're the bully in there, he ain't the bully!" Can't call yourself the baddest man on the planet (and have a long sordid history of roughhouse tactics well before he fought Holy) and then cry to the referee over imagined fouls.

if you follow boxing you would have noticed that in every one of mike's fights he went with his head first and it worked for him. Buster Douglas and Holyfield employed the very same technique. Not one of Tyson's opponents cried when Tyson went in head first, yet when Holyfield did it, Tyson cried like the classic schoolyard bully. the second head clash was undoubtedly a deliberate act by Tyson- you can see in the replay that Mike dropped his gloves and went in for a claimed head butt as he was losing on the cards.
that was a foresight into what he would do in the rematch- but that time he resorted to biting.
Tyson is the classic fighter with no genuine guts. When he faced someone doing what he'd done for years, he crumbled. Holyfield had a great chin like Tyson, was bigger than Tyson, and could box. But he also was aggressive.
Tyson just got beat..and Tyson tried for the eay way out when he was losing.

The main one was when Big Daddy gave Holyfield a heart murmur and was in the hospital for weeks after the loss to Big Daddy his boxing lic was revoked a year and a half. If Tyson would have got in the ring with Big Daddy it would have been the worst beating of Tysons boxing career Lenex Lewis didn't want Big Daddy and look what Lewis did to Tyson. Now was Tyson looking good for this fight? Nope. Was he any where close to the fighter of his Prime? Nope. So I can't in good conscience say he would have or should have won this fight without the head butts, but he might have. I think Holyfield's strategy and his style of fighting, mixed with a tough chin, was probably more to do with his win.

it's so fast it's unbelievable. It must have been practiced hundreds and hundreds of times to be that fast and that accurate.
The headbutts, low blows and knees to rhe groin I won't even talk about.
The referee wasn't doing anything at all.
This led to Tyson trying to headbutt him back and see how he misses? Coz it's not a practiced move on his part while Holyfield's head was laser guided missile..

4:49 the low blows do way more damage I wouldn’t say they were even in cheating the shoulder and punch after the break don’t hurt that much but a low blow hurts a lot and slows u down I have been through this at 10-14 I saw a kid collapse then couldn’t finish the sparring cause he could barely walk
Also with the headbutt that gave Tyson the cut it was on purpose Holyfield was good at hiding it that why he never lost points and every champion he fought said he head butted also Tyson wasn’t trying to headbutt he likes to rush in and u can see Holyfield getting ready to back head him also Tyson got headbutt so much and lowblowed unlike the other champs I think that’s one of the reasons he lost
Also ngl Tyson tried to headbutt or Tyson tried to hit Holyfield but holy’s Elbow I’ll lean it more to Tyson trying to headbutt to make it fair
The second time is not an attempt at headbutting that Tyson tries to jab in for a big blow like in the tucker fight but holy definitely and obviously went in for the back head
I also want to point out I’m not a Tyson fan I just want to address the cheating
And it doesn’t matter if he cheated thier both out of their prime u can make excuses for both and it’s hard to scale them and argue who would win in their prime
And ngl I think Holyfield is a better fight fought foreman, ray mercer and other champs
He’s Ali and Tyson was Sonny

Just watch how both were finished. The last punches, He runs into finish them & headbutts them while hooking. It was always his secret weapon. He disguises the headbutts really well.

Come on Dokes? Watch the Dokes Holyfield fight and count all the low blows from Dokes. Granted Holyfield landed a low blow or two on Dokes, but for every low blow Holyfield landed there were about 10 from Dokes. Dokes hit Holyfield low so many times even the announcers began to question if he was doing it on purpose and your talking about a headbutt from Holyfield. Dokes wanted to make it a rough fight and that's what he got. Holyfield landed clean crisp punches upstairs all night long. Dokes was known to have a pretty good chin before then. When they were propping up Razor Ruddock for Tyson. They had commercials that said Dokes may never be the same after the Ruddock knockout, but the truth is he was never the same after the beating Holyfield gave him.

    • @tonyh8965
      @tonyh8965 2 года назад +2

@@Derby_City_Dasher yes there were low blows but that wasn’t the point. We were talking about & giving examples of Holyfield’s head butting over the years. Don’t get it twisted Holyfield was a brilliant fighter but he purposely used his head to cut, hurt his opponents regularly. Probably the dirtiest fighter I’ve seen, or a the least up there.

Don't worry about Tyson fans hating you.........they cannot accept any of his losses, always a catch.
Funny how they never mention the times that he elbows, headbutts, hits after the bell, or tries to break his opponents arm.....or faking injury to postpone his fights hoping his opponent will have already peaked in training, and he can get the weaker man now (which he admits.......what a warrior)!.

Tyson head butted Douglas 6 times in 2 mims in first rd of their fight. Tyson even got a warning from the ref. Tyson fanboys see what they want to see... shorter tyson weaving and dipping comes in and as he comes up his head goes into taller fighters face. Holyfield noticed it in Douglas fight and lowered his head as tyson came up so instead of tysons head hitting Holyfields face like it did Douglas it hits Holyfields head. Clash of heads. . i didnt think Evander won because of the headbutts and i dont think he was the sole dirty fight n the ring in that night. I think the only real factors that lead to the bite was the fact that Evanders dirty shots werent being called as much as mikes were, even though theyre pretty much on the same level of dirty fighting lol by the time mike had come out of prison he was long gone from the disciplined killer he was under Cus D'Amato, honestly think the beginning of the downhill in losing that edge started somewhere between the time of D'amato passing away in 85' and Don King getting involved heavily in 88' (cant forget mikes nightmare of a marriage to Robin Givens). at the end of the day im kind of inbetween when it comes to this argument though i do think holyfields ear being bitten was a direct response to him headbutting mike and not getting called for it

    • @jiyere

Other than calling it a butt, Mills Lane didn't have other options. He couldn't take a point away for an accidental headbutt.
Holyfield's style is too rough for Tyson.
But I think beyond that Tyson couldn't catch up with holyfield technical skills. That's what frustrated him in addition to the headbutts
If it was a guy he could easily dominate or knew he could knock out at any time I don't think he wouldn't have resolved to do what he did.
